International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) was founded in 2009 and aims to provide protection and improve the welfare of animals in need.
We have recently relaunched our Auctions for Animals online fundraising events and are searching for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team to help source donations. Ideally our volunteers will have some experience in generating donations/prizes for fundraising events, or will be happy to spread the word within your local community and collect new or preloved donations for us.
Tasks will include:

Identify suitable avenues for donations, creating and building relationships with our supporters and donors and helping to promote IAPWA within your local community.

Assist with the running of our monthly auction events via our Auctions For Animals Facebook Group, eBay and Vinted shops.

A bit about this role
Across the UK, many cats are cared for by volunteer fosterers who provide a stable, safe and loving environment in their homes or in purpose-built pens in their gardens. They provide vital hands-on care and accommodation to stray or abandoned cats or cats whose owners could sadly no longer keep them, and are part of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to finding new homes for cats in need. Our fosterers carry out this role with support from their local branch or centre.
Most of our fosterers care for one or two cats at a time and enjoy providing lots of TLC to those cats, who have been pre-loved or have had a difficult start in life. Some of our fosterers look after new mums and kittens and provide round-the-clock care to newborns to give them the best start in life.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Meeting the needs of the cats and kittens in your care
- Cleaning and looking after the cats’ environment and equipment
- Feeding, grooming and administering medication
- Spending time enriching the cats’ experience in care including; play, exercise and stroking

Looking for Fosterers mainly in the Deeside area although would consider applicants from the Kincardine area that have a suitable indoor space although we would consider those with a suitable outdoor space in the right location.

Time expectation
Our volunteer fosterers usually spend one and a half hours per day on average (around 10 to 13 hours per week) in this role, but this might vary depending on the number of cats or kittens in care. In order to help you feel confident in your fosterer role we ask that prior to looking after your first foster cat you complete some online cat welfare learning modules.

AOOW is the only vegan animal sanctuary in Cambodia working towards animal rights!
We need someone like you so we can start growing our team and protecting animals in Siem Reap.
We are looking for a hard-working, animal-loving assistant shelter caretaker to learn the ropes of how to take care of animals in a rescue shelter.
The Assistant will be trained by our head Shelter Caretaker in how to take care of the animals feeding, cleaning, and socializing, as well as other jobs around the shelter.
Taking care of animals is much more than feeding them! A clean shelter is ESSENTIAL to ensuring the health of our 100+ rescued cats and dogs.
The Assistant will also learn some basics about taking care of fully-rehabilitated animals who have lifelong health issues, such as paralysis and PTSD.
When we have enough funding, we will re-start our community outreach program for medical animal emergencies with local poverty-stricken families. We also plan to conduct vaccination and sterilization community projects that will help achieve our core mission - to prevent animal suffering!
Some daily tasks may include:
+ Walking and socializing with the dogs and cats

+ Routine animal care, medication administration, flea/tick prevention, etc.

We are looking for cat-loving volunteers to play a vital role in helping us improve the wellbeing of the cats in our care whilst they wait to be rehomed. Can you help them by providing a calm and caring home whilst we find their purrfect forever home?
Here at Bluebell Ridge RSPCA Centre, we have been rehabilitating and rehoming unwanted, stray and abandoned cats for 23 years.
We'd now like to expand our team of volunteer fosterers so we can offer an alternative rehoming journey for those who don't cope as well in a cattery environment and would benefit from one-to-one behavioural or medical support.
As a cat fosterer, you would be supporting the RSPCA in providing our cats with the safety of your home whilst tending to their welfare needs such as feeding and grooming. In addition to this, by providing a temporary loving environment, you will play a crucial role in a cat’s wellbeing and socialisation, which will significantly improve their chances of successful rehoming.
Once everything is in place, the animal centre will guide you through the fostering process and ensure that you have all the necessary equipment, food, and veterinary care for your fostered cat. The RSPCA is also happy to reimburse any other pre-agreed expenses that you may incur through volunteering for us.
Whilst our cats are in your foster care, you will:
● Provide them with care, suitable housing, and a safe environment as per our policies and guidelines.
● Feed, water, and groom them in line with our advice.
● Transport them to any veterinary appointments if required.
● Provide them with your time and patience.
● Help us spread the word about the cats in your care so they might find their forever home quicker.
● Playing and cuddles are also a must!
What we are looking for in a volunteer Cat Fosterer:
● Volunteers aged 18 or over who have had plenty of experience caring for cats.
- Based in in our region which covers Camber to Bexhill and north to Hurst Green
● Fostering experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.
● For their wellbeing, our cats need to be kept in a separate room, so the whole family should be on board.
● Any existing pets or animals need to have been spayed/neutered (some medical reasons may mean they cannot be, so please let us know if this is the case).

We are specifically looking for individuals with a specialism in animal welfare, for example, those with experience in, animal rescue, animal care, the veterinary industry, veterinary nursing, or as an animal behaviourist.
Using this expertise as well as other skills, as a Branch Trustee, you will influence how we care for and prevent cruelty to animals and drive the implementation of key initiatives.
As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a committee meeting every other month lasting 2 hours either in person or virtually (can alternate). However, the commitment may vary depending on whether or not the trustee takes on additional duties.
Primary responsibilities of the Branch Trustee – Animal Welfare Lead
- Act as branch specialist to compliance animal welfare across the branch.
- Act as lead of animal welfare for the branch dealing with enquiries mail/phone.
- Creation and maintenance of any branch specific animal welfare standards.
- Ensure branch trustees are kept informed of any events of note, including requests for extraordinary expenditure or decisions as and when they happen.
- Lead and organise animal welfare branch sub-committee.
- Provide written animal welfare report for every branch meeting.
- Maintain control of all veterinary and other animal services provided to the branch.
- Maintain control of animal welfare vouchering schemes.
- Creation and contribution to the animal welfare promotional materials.
- Act as second reviewer for adoptors and fosterers.
- Act as main contact for RSPCA Inspectors, vets, boarding facilities.
- Creation and contributor to branch communications.
- Compliance with Data Protection Act 2018.
- Submission of the RSPCA Reports as required.

Can you help our four-legged friends get from A to B? We are looking for a friendly volunteer who can dedicate some time and their vehicle to transport our animals between our centres, boarding establishments, and the vets.
As a volunteer driver, you would be able to provide a suitable vehicle that you could use to help us transport the animals in our care. This is so our furry friends can get the veterinary care that they need or to reach one of our adoption units or animal centres. We rescue and rehome around 200 animals each year and provide community help and support with animal welfare in all DA postcodes plus BR8 postcodes.
You will be provided with everything you need to be able to transport our animals safely such as leads, cages etc. as well as any training and support.
Volunteer Driver responsibilities:
- Transport animals to and from the vets, private boarding establishments and our animal centres within our health and safety guidelines.
- Ensure that RSPCA rules and regulations are complied with.
- Carry out a small amount of administrative work, such as completing mileage returns.

What we are looking for in a volunteer Driver:
- Drivers must be aged 18 or over, have a valid driving licence, and a vehicle, which is suitable for transporting animals.
- Someone who can lift animals in and out of the vehicle.
- A friendly volunteer who has time and patience for each animal.
- Someone who is flexible and can offer an ongoing commitment for 4 hours weekly.
- A careful driver!

RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks need to raise £400k per annum to survive the current cost of living crisis. We are generously supported by private donors and our retail outlets give the majority of funds, however there is more to be done to educate the public and through fundraising and sponsorship partnerships we believe we can reach more people.
We are looking for people with a background in fundraising on a scale of £200k+ who know how to speak with corporate sponsors and can engage directly with our events team. You will be part of a team of Trustee's and responsible for your area of expertise, which requires an experienced leader of people.
The trustee will be responsible for:
• Generating new partnerships with corporate sponsors
• Engaging with internal stakeholders
• Generating ideas and project plans to source funds
• Planning and executing fundraising events from one day events to long partnerships.
Full training on trustee role is provided by the national RSPCA, all other skills must be brought by the applicant.

We are looking for 2 dedicated Trustees to support GPC’s mission and help support humans and pets in a holistic, inclusive, and compassionate way.
The Role
GPC’s trustees will play a vital role in making sure the organisation achieves its core purposes of promoting the welfare and rehoming of companion animals, advancing animal welfare equity, relieving hardships faced by pets and their owners, lobbying for improved animal welfare legislation, fostering knowledge sharing, and building a supportive community for pet guardians in the Greater Glasgow Area.
Trustees oversee the overall management and administration of the charity. They also ensure that GPC has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the executive team to enable GPC to grow and thrive, and through this, fulfil our objectives and realise the organisation’s mission.
Board members have a collective responsibility. This means that trustees always act as a group.
Duties

Support and provide advice on GPC’s purpose, vision, goals and activities.

Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.

Oversee GPC’s financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.

Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.

Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored, and controlled effectively.

Review and approve GPC’s financial statements.

Provide support and challenge to GPC’s co-founders in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs.

Keep abreast of changes in GPC’s operating environment.

Contribute to regular reviews of GPC’s own governance. Attend Board meetings monthly, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.

Use independent judgement, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect GPC’s interests, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or any third party interests.

Contribute to the broader promotion of GPC’s objects, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts.

Terms of Appointment
Terms of office

Trustees are appointed for a 1 year term of office, renewal for unlimited further terms, at the discretion of membership.

This is a voluntary position. Reasonable expenses (eg. travel costs or office supplies) will be reimbursed. Prior approval of such expenses shall be sought prior to purchase if at all possible.
Time commitment

Attending 1 Board meetings each month plus the GPC annual general meeting. Board meetings will be held remotely unless a majority of the board wishes otherwise. AGM will be held remotely unless a majority of membership wishes otherwise.
