About you

You will be responsible for supporting the strategic development of our publications, including journals and an open research platform. They will be responsible for generating high-quality content in our titles and support the ongoing movement toward open science. The post holder will ensure we support the microbiology community in our publishing activities, working closely with colleagues, external stakeholders with microbiologists in academia, industry, and infection science environments.

The Publishing Editor will also support and manage editors and editorial boards, monitoring performance and running recruitment as and where required.

The successful candidate will have experience in academic publishing, the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at different levels and, have working knowledge of Microsoft  Office Applications.

Purpose of the job

 We are looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant to support two of our fantastic directors who have not had in-house support before.

 The position will be split 50/50 between the Director of External Relations and Income Generation, and the Director of Network Delivery. Each director will require a different level of support, and they will work the post holder to devise what best suits their individual needs.

 The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and possess excellent communication skills. This role requires a strong ability to manage multiple priorities and a keen attention to detail, ensuring the smooth functioning of daily activities and long-term projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-level administrative support to the Director of Network Delivery and Director of Income Generation and Strategic Communications, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and managing the departmental credit card expenses and reporting.

• Provide email inbox management support to the Director of Network Delivery.

• Serve as the primary point of contact between executives and internal/external stakeholders.

• Prepare, review, and edit documents, reports, and presentations for meetings and events.

• Organise and maintain electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

• Coordinate team meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.

• Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the CEO Office, executive team and the strategic goals of the charity.  

Experience we're after

• Proven experience in an Executive Assistant/administrative role, or similar.

• Exceptional prioritisation and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Programme Development Specialist  will work on complex and major bids, often on multimillion consortia, commercial contracts and multi-country partnerships, and will be expected to take a high degree of responsibility for developing successful bids including negotiations with internal and external partners. 

This position will drive a high-quality bidding process with institutional donors and large foundations to build a healthy and sustainable funding pipeline so that CIUK can achieve our programme goals. You will work closely with technical advisory teams, country offices, finance colleagues, and other partners in order to deliver winning bids, which showcase CARE’s programme innovation and deliver impact as well as ensuring adequate cost recovery for CIUK.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on an exciting role within the Humanitarian Team of the Programme & Policy Department/Programme Management Team.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of policies and practices managing projects with the FCDO and DEC. A good grasp of programme and financial management combined with an ability to provide distance support to Country Offices and partners.

The Humanitarian Programme Manager is responsible for the overall management for a portfolio of programmes across the programme management lifecycle from the contracting stage to close out. Specific areas of responsibilities include programme quality, accountability, relationship management, impact reporting and knowledge management, compliance and risk management. In addition, he/she will be an effective team member and committed to tackling discrimination and structural inequality and promoting CARE International’s Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection policy with team members and in day-to-day practice.

About the Role

Chance UK has been delivering early-intervention services across London since 1995. Our longest running programme is our mentoring service where Mentors pick the child up from home and run a 1:1 session in the community, once a week for 2 hours. They use the solution-focused approach to work on building the child’s self-esteem and confidence, set goals and explore new places.

In addition, we are growing a range of community based groups running after school as well as some workshops delivered in schools which will support children with developing social and emotional skills and resilience through activities or skills development.

The balance between 1:1 work and group delivery will change according to services commissioned so the post holder will need to be flexible accordingly.

We are ideally looking for someone for this role who is in easy proximity to South London as we have a number of children South of the river that need support.

We are looking for someone on a 2 year fixed term contract to support CCT, as we engage in a programme of significant digital change, with our core information management systems under active review and development. The complaint processing of personal data is fundamental to delivering our business objectives and will be a crucial deliverable for our Digital Transformation Programme.

The Compliance officer will be instrumental in ensuring CCT complies with best practice in relation to the storage and use of people’s personal information, ensuring compliance with the relevant GDPR regulations and will also be responsible for ensuring that the CCT’s policies and procedures are compliant with the relevant Government Functional Standards as well as following good practice in relation to its governance policies and procedures.

The post holder will work with every team, at all levels across CCT, to help embed a risk-based approach to data protection and decision-making, championing both the intent of data protection law and effective operational outcomes; adopting best recommended practice where there is ambiguity about minimal compliance requirements.

It's an exciting time to join World Cancer Research Fund International's policy team. In 2024, the organisation started undertaking proactive UK policy and public affairs to join our well-established international policy work.

World Cancer Research Fund International leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe, the Americas and Asia and is responsible for cancer prevention science, policy, strategic and operational direction to the network charities.

We are looking for a candidate with a passion for delivering improvements to public health and cancer prevention through policy and public affairs, who has experience advising colleagues on political matter areas and the ability to maintain up to date knowledge on political issues. Experience of sourcing, scanning for, reviewing, assessing and analysing policy documents or legislation is also key. 

You will have significant professional experience in a UK policy and public affairs environment such as a charity or working in parliament - preferably in health - and a Bachelor degree (or Masters degree desirable) in public policy, public or global health, or health policy (e.g. policies on cancer, non-communicable diseases, food, obesity, physical activity) or other relevant subjects, or a Bachelor of Law.

The Financial Controller will work closely with the Finance Director in the delivery of the organisation’s financial objectives and is expected to contribute to the financial culture, strategy and development of the organisation. The Financial Controller will oversee the management of the Group’s statutory accounts and the processes, policies and procedures that underpin CARE International’s financial control framework. This role will be responsible for taking the lead in ongoing financial improvement work, bringing professional financial leadership to the Financial Accounts Team and the wider organisation.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Management and operation of financial control framework including maintenance of the policies and procedures that support its effective operation 
• Leading the Financial Accounts Team (currently 4 staff) with 2 direct reports
• Producing the annual statutory accounts and leading the statutory audit process for the CIUK Group (comprising the UK charity and its trading subsidiary)
• Managing efficient and effective treasury management including robust and timely cash flow forecasting
• Supervising the controls and processes that support effective management of the balance sheet including balance sheet reconciliations 
• Managing good quality accounts payable and accounts receivable functions 
• Managing tax for the charity and trading subsidiary including VAT returns and Gift Aid 
• Providing financial accounting advice to colleagues across the organisation in line with the requirement of the Charity SORP 

Who are we looking for?

• A formally qualified accountant with relevant experience of financial accounting gained in a complex organisation
• Someone with experience of producing year end statutory accounts in Charities SORP format, preparing and adhering to year end timelines and being a key point of contact for auditors
• An excellent communicator who is able to influence at all levels within the organisation 
• Analytical with good judgement and decision making capability

What you’ll do:

• Actively support, motivate and manage a portfolio of individual supporters to fundraise for Parkinson’s UK, ensuring opportunities realise their full potential and key supporters are retained.

• Lead on the development and delivery of a portfolio of fundraising activities such as local delivery of the Walk for Parkinson’s event series.

• Lead in developing all streams of local fundraising in allocated areas, including community support, local corporate activity and collaborating with central teams.

• Demonstrable experience of general fundraising principles and at least two of the following fundraising disciplines: community, events, corporate and major donors. 

• Experience of setting and effectively managing budgets to achieve agreed targets.

Arthritis Action is the UK charity giving hands-on, practical help to improve the quality of life of people affected by arthritis. We support people living with musculoskeletal conditions through healthy eating advice, mental health resources, pain management techniques, Online Groups, employment support, and exercise advice and resources.

Key Responsibilities – the role will include but not be limited to:

• Leading the development and delivery of Arthritis Action’s strategy for engagement with philanthropic organisations and individuals. 
• Working closely with our services team and healthcare experts to develop pitches that attract funding from philanthropic sources.  
• Creatively utilising the charity’s resources and networks to maximise major donor income potential.
• Advising other team members about how best to position the Charity for major donor funding through its communications and programme development.

The Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) has an international award-winning reputation in heritage conservation and regeneration for its own estate. For this reason CCT has been contracted to deliver a programme of work for Historic Chapels Trust (HCT). HCT owns and cares for 20 of the most significant Nonconformist and Catholic chapels no longer in regular use by their congregations, all listed at Grade I and Grade II*.  Key to the project is management of the assets, funded by the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) through their Cultural Assets Fund (CAF).

As a member of CCT’s national Conservation team you will be the main point of contact for all chapel maintenance related issues, liaising closely with contractors, local groups and volunteers. Alongside the Conservation Projects Manager for Chapels you will deliver the maintenance programme, including regulatory and legal compliance, as well as deal with utilities and insurance of chapels. 10 of the chapels are in our North region, 6 in our West region and 4 are in our South East region.

You will have previous experience in the field of historic buildings maintenance, repair or property management. You will be an effective communicator, be able to plan and deliver your own workload and also work as part of a team. As you’ll be working at chapels throughout England it is essential you have a full driving licence.
