Our No Cold Child initiative, launched with FatFace, stepped in to address a stark statistic: over 150,000 children in the UK do not own a winter coat due to poverty. Through our trusted relationships with schools, we distributed 10,000 warm, high-quality coats worth £600,000 to the children who needed them most. Shortlisted for two Business Charity Awards, the campaign has been praised not just for providing warmth, but for restoring dignity, inclusion, and school readiness to thousands of children.
Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allows shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. In just the last year, this campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools—supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.
Meanwhile, our All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.
Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 135,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.
We also deliver a wide-ranging series of live expert webinars and parent-friendly resources, covering topics such as managing anxiety, supporting special educational needs, navigating school transitions, and building home-school partnerships. These resources—developed in consultation with experts and rooted in lived parent experience—equip families to feel informed and empowered, no matter what challenges arise.
This month, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. The accreditation celebrates schools that actively listen to parent voices, make engagement easy and accessible, and embed family partnership in their culture. It is a practical and inspiring tool to drive long-term change in the sector and offers a roadmap for schools wanting to strengthen their community.
Our work is grounded in evidence. Every year, we conduct the UK’s largest parental engagement study: the National Parent Survey. In 2024, over five thousand parents participated, providing invaluable insight into what families think about the education system. SLRA is a well established local migrant support organisation working alongside refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis due to immigration issues. Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. About the role:
This role is based in our office at Whitecross Studio's, 50 Banner Street, London, with flexibility of hybrid working. The role requires travelling to other VS offices across London.
As a Senior Children and Young Persons Caseworker, you will be required to:
- Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments and ensure each CYP receives an individual tailored support package that fully meets their identified needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Provide one to one support to children and young people living in families affected by domestic abuse.
- Effectively manage a caseload of different risk level cases of approx. 10 and provide specialist support to reduce the risk and increase safety
- Review the assessment of risk on an ongoing basis, ensuring appropriate and immediate action is taken in respect of any CYP facing significant harm, making the necessary referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes as required given the legal framework relating to the protection of children and the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children's Board.
- To consult with and involve children and young people in making decisions about themselves and the development of the service.
- Establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, with the intention of supporting children and young people who have been impacted by crime. Attend meetings as required.
- To advocate on behalf of children and young people affected by crime, to ensure the diverse needs of children and young people using the service are met.
- Manage up to 4 staff, conducting supervisions and case reviews, supporting and coaching your staff in their practice and personal development.
You will need to have the following essential skills:
- Experience of working directly with vulnerable children and young people aged 5 - 17, on a one to one basis, with a proven ability to work in creative and appropriate ways to engage with children and young people
- Experience with assessing risk and taking appropriate action to safeguard children and young people

Role Overview
The Director of UK Feminista plays a pivotal role in driving forward the organisation’s mission to advance sex equality through strategic leadership, operational oversight, and external advocacy. They are responsible for shaping and delivering UK Feminista’s long term vision, ensuring that its work remains bold, effective, and rooted in feminist principles. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Director leads the organisation’s strategic planning processes, oversees programme delivery, and ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory responsibilities.
The role requires strong financial stewardship and a proactive approach to income generation, including fundraising from trusts, foundations, and supporters. The Director also manages a small staff team, fostering an inclusive and empowering organisational culture. This year we launch a new three-year programme to achieve one of those key aims – raising the status of the early education profession, and we need a Campaign Manager to help us drive that work.
About the role

Although we work remotely with a team that is spread nationwide, this role does require someone that is based in or close to London in order to deliver our Westminster programme of activities.
We work flexibly and it won’t come as a surprise to you that we understand the challenge of caring commitments. We trust you to manage your time, but we do expect that most of your hours are worked during standard office hours so that we can collaborate as a team and engage with our coalition partners. Our core working day is a Thursday. As a fully remote team this helps us to stay in touch and connect.

The Coalition has experienced significant growth over the last two years and with early years firmly on the political agenda, we expect this to continue. Our hope is that this role will evolve and the successful candidate will continue to progress within this growing and impactful organisation.
For the last two years, the Coalition has been incubated by the Women’s Budget Group, the UK’s leading feminist economic think tank. Our growth means that we are now ready to spin out into a separate and independent legal entity. That means that your employment contract will initially be with WBG on behalf of the Coalition but will then transfer across to the newly constituted organisation. Whilst the coalition currently has almost 40 core member organisations who shape our policy and lead on our shared campaigns, we are looking to grow our network of supporter organisations – these are partners who share our belief in the value of early education and childcare even if they do not work directly in early years policy. The Campaign Manager will lead a new project to identify, onboard, engage and grow this supporter network, ensuring they remain up to date with the latest research produced by the Coalition and its partners.

With the support of the Head of Advocacy and our external comms partner, develop a new narrative to raise the profile of the early education workforce and deliver a series of campaign moments across paid, earned and owned media to support this work.
