About the role

In this rewarding role right at the heart of our Macmillan Support line, you will work in a busy and varied environment, while providing emotional support and key information to people living with cancer and their loved ones at a time of great need.

Due to the nature of some of the calls and webchats, the role can be challenging at times, so resilience is key. However its extremely fulfilling, to be able to support people who are going through such difficult times.

You will work towards performance goals to help us ensure we are reaching everyone who needs our support, with the level of support being the highest quality.

Shift patterns

Our Support Line is available 365 days a year, including bank holidays from 8am to 8pm and is key to our strategic objective of reaching everyone whilst focusing on those who need the most support.

To cover our service and opening hours  you will be required to work a shift pattern on a 6 week rotation of:

Week 1 & 2 - Monday to Friday 9:00-17:00

Week 3 & 4 - Monday to Friday 10:00-18:00

Week 5 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday 12:15-20:15

Week 6 - Monday 10:15-20:15, Wednesday to Friday 10:45-20:15

*with a 30 minute earlier finish or later start one day of weeks 1-5

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Experience of working in a busy customer facing environment (preferably contact centre environment), dealing with multiple customer queries and remaining calm under pressure. 
• Experience of speaking confidently to customers via multiple channels; phone, webchat and email.
• Experience of using a Customer Relationship Management system to record accurately the organisation’s interactions with customers.
• High levels of resilience and experience of dealing with emotional or impactful content.
• Experience of working towards goals/KPIs (for example call performance such as average handling times and wrap times).

You will help form part of a UK-wide team of remote Helpline Advisors operating the only modern slavery specific helpline in the UK. Answering incoming calls, making callouts, sending emails, drafting referrals to external agencies, and maintaining accurate data will be your day-to-day responsibilities. You will contribute to a service that as well as providing information, advice and guidance to our service users, also helps create one of the largest non-governmental bodies of data on the scale of modern slavery in the UK which is used to influence strategy and policy at local, national and international levels. You will provide trauma informed and person-centered information, advice, and guidance to a variety of caller types, including people in and out of exploitation, professionals, members of the public, and businesses.

About the role:

This role is based between our Northern Hampshire office in Basingstoke and from home on a hybrid basis. You will be working shifts Monday to Friday between either 8am and 4pm, 10am and 6pm or 12pm and 8pm. You will also be required to work a minimum of 1 Saturday per month 8am to 4pm where you will receive a day off in lieu during the week. Shifts are designated on a rota basis which is given in advance.

As a Helpline Advisor / Triage & Early Intervention Officer, you will be:

• You will be talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. No two days are the same & you will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience.
• Previous experience is not required as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients. You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.
• You will be working within a supportive team that is part of a large independent charity which offers the opportunity to develop skills to enhance your ongoing personal development.

Key Responsibilities
As part of the PBA Finance Team and leading the team, the Financial Advisor plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of PBA, offering strategic advice, ensuring compliance, and overseeing day-to-day financial operations. The Financial Advisor works closely with PBA’s Accounts administrator.
Key responsibilities are:

• Work with the core team on the annual Business Planning process and help devise and produce the annual Budget.
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of the Approval and circulation of monthly /quarterly financial and management accounts, including a brief narrative report.

• Act as one Authorised Signatory on all bank accounts and manage relationships with external financial institutions and banking partners.

About the Advisory Panel
The Advisory Panel is a meeting of the four Council’s committees (Companies, Education, Registration and Standards) in plenary session. They are established by statute for the purpose of giving advice and assistance to Council (whether or not in response to a request from them) on:

· matters relating to business registrants other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be referred to the Investigation Committee, the Registration Appeals Committee or the Fitness to Practise Committee;

· matters relating to optical training, education and assessment;

· matters relating to registration, other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be considered by the Registration Appeals Committee; and

· matters relating to the standards of conduct and performance expected of registrants or those seeking admission to the register.

The committees and the Advisory Panel meet about twice a year. You can read the current terms of reference for the Advisory Panel, Education Committee, Registration Committee and Standards Committee.

 

Remuneration and time commitment

A daily fee of £319 will be paid. This is in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule.  This is taxable and subject to Class 1 National Insurance (NI) contributions. It is not pensionable.

Members can claim expenses for travel and subsistence costs incurred on Council business as set out in our expenses policy.

This role is part time with a commitment of approximately 2-3 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings.  Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices in London or other suitable venues.

Our client are seeking two enthusiastic and experienced Associate Trainers to co-deliver a high-quality accredited learning programme using existing training materials. The programme will be delivered to Personal Advisers and Leaving Care Professionals in collaboration with staff from the charityand care-experienced Young Trainers. Course units will be predominantly online with some in-person sessions based on the given course schedule. The Associate Trainer will also have responsibility for: 

• supporting the enrolment and induction of learners
• assessing learner portfolios of evidence for the Level 4 NCFE customised qualification through a virtual learning platform
• providing learner support through a structured tutorial system

About the role:

• Hold an active caseload of children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse within the home
• Be responsible for providing safe, high-quality and consistent support through the online delivery of the CYP Recovery Toolkit
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships and promote effective communication between staff and other stakeholders.

INTEGRITY ACTION is an innovative and award-winning charity devoted to fighting poverty and inequality through citizen-centred accountability. The purpose of this role is to lead on fundraising for the organisation. You’ll build relationships with funders – mostly trust, foundations and corporates and secure income. The fundraising focus in 2025 is primarily for climate-focused programmes and Ukraine focused programmes. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Relationship Management: Proactively identify and open doors to new funding opportunities by leveraging your existing networks with trusts, foundations and corporates; Strengthen relationships with Integrity Action’s existing funders, identifying opportunities to increase and extend their financial commitments; and Represent Integrity Action confidently and persuasively in presentations, meetings, and events to introduce our mission to potential funders and key stakeholders.

2. Trusts, Foundations, and Corporate Fundraising: Develop and submit compelling, targeted written proposals and applications to trusts, foundations, and corporate funders; Collaborate closely with the Integrity Action team to effectively translate project designs into persuasive funding proposals; Work closely with partners by submitting high quality inputs to external bids where we are a sub-partner; and Liaise closely with consultants who support us with corporate fundraising.

3. Strategic Fundraising Support: Lead prospecting for new funding opportunities and develop donor engagement plans to expand the funding pipeline; Maintain and oversee fundraising tracking systems ensuring accurate records of donor interactions, pipelines, and reporting; and Regularly update senior management and the Board on fundraising strategies and progress.

ABOUT THE ROLE

An experienced advocate with a sound understanding of the UK political system and legislative process, the Policy and Advocacy Specialist will be responsible for leading on Animal Equality’s life-saving legal advocacy campaigns on behalf of farmed animals.

Working as part of a highly effective team, within a fast-paced environment, the Policy and Advocacy Specialist will develop and implement advocacy strategies that influence public policy with a goal to advance Animal Equality UK’s mission: to end the exploitation of farmed animals.

An excellent communicator, with an ability to convey complex information in a digestible way, the Policy and Advocacy Specialist will be a professional with a proven track record of policy programme delivery. The role involves engaging with policymakers, building relationships with coalition partners, overseeing public affairs initiatives, and influencing Government policy to create meaningful changes for farmed animals.

As Regional Development Lead you’ll be helping to make a huge difference to the lives of those that work and use the railways in the region, as you support us in our life saving suicide prevention work. In this exciting role and working with our award winning rail programme, you’ll provide expert care and advice within the rail networks within the region.

​In this role you’ll be an expert advisory support link for the rail industries and local community partners. You’ll have experience of stakeholder engagement and partnership working. Warm, personable and friendly, you’ll be able to build and maintain relationships with many different groups of people.

​You’ll need compassion and resilience to work with exposure to incidents that may be upsetting.

Organised and methodical you’ll also be an effective Project manager with enthusiasm and a good understanding of mental health and suicide prevention.

The Region

Working alongside other Regional Development Leads, this role is responsible for the North West and Central route region (primarily covering the Network Rail routes on the rail infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be based within/adjacent to this region to enable them to fulfil the travel requirements of the role.  

Working remotely, you’ll be a self-starter but also have the support of the wider rail team at Samaritans.
