A Bit about Us:

WellChild, based in the centre of Cheltenham, is the national charity for children with complex medical needs and their families. We fund programmes and services to make it possible for children and young people living with serious illness to be cared for at home instead of hospital.

The WellChild Family Tree is a growing network that exists to connect families across the UK caring for a child with complex health needs with each other and with WellChild. Through its online forum, and programme of activities and communications, it provides members with the opportunity to make friends, make memories and make a change.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised person to join us as our Family Information Officer as part of our Family Team. Working alongside the Family Programme Team and wider Programmes Team, this role will fill a critical information gap for the families that WellChild supports and will help the charity attract new and harder to reach families into the WellChild Family Tree network.

Through becoming familiar with relevant policy and guidance for families caring for children with complex medical needs, you will be able to help identify the key issues facing our families and then curate the most relevant, up to date information from a variety of expert sources to help support them whilst also taking the lead on information projects aimed at helping families to thrive at home.

Purpose of the role:

Families thrust into a world of disability and complex care find themselves having to navigate their way through a ‘new normal’ with nowhere to go for relevant information and advice. The result leaves many unaware of their entitlements or the help that might be available. This puts many families under extreme pressure, leading to financial hardship, family breakdowns and emotional strain.

Working within the Family Team and reporting to the Family Programme Manager, this role will continue to develop and expand WellChild’s information provision. This will be achieved through research and delivery of information, tools and advice for families on subjects such as, but not limited to health, legal rights and entitlements, wellbeing and local services.

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London.  All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment. This role will be working with clients who have mental health support needs, wanting to gain paid employment.

We are expanding our services and are recruiting for Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Employment Support Workers across the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham and Barking & Dagenham.

Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to employment as an integral aspect of wellbeing and supporting people to find the right job for them. You will receive training on the IPS model and in supporting people with mental health issues. We welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health, either personally or through a close contact.

You need to have a desire to support people to achieve their employment goals, and the ability to multitask and manage your workload effectively. Good organisation skills are essential for this role, in addition to an interest in mental health, and the role it plays in the workplace. The successful candidate will need to become comfortable in approaching employers, persuading them to use our service, working with them to recruit our clients to fill vacancies and sustain employment.

We are a Centre of Excellence and adhere closely to the principles of the IPS model in supporting people in to employment. No prior experience in IPS is required. The roles we are recruiting for are as follows: 

4 x Full Time based in Newham: 35 hours per week - this roles will be based onsite/in the community 4 days per week and work from home 1 day.

1 x Part time based in Newham: 17.5 hours per week this roles will be based onsite/in the community 2 days per week and work from home for a half day.

You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. You will deliver the IPS approach (for which training will be given); providing person centred support and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment. The Students’ Union Advice Service supports a student population of over 40000 with case numbers averaging over 3000 per year. You’ll be giving one-to-one advice on academic issues, housing, money issues and student life. You’ll enjoy this role if you’re interested in the law and getting to grips with regulations, policies and procedures, so you can help people to understand their rights and challenge poor practice. Through your work you will directly contribute to the Students’ Union strategic theme that students feel well supported. As a Senior Advisor, you’ll also be there to ensure we are providing a great experience service.

We are looking for someone who will be able to support students professionally and with a high level of empathy. Our Advice Service is used by students who are facing difficult or complex circumstances including mental ill health, disabilities, financial hardship or who have experienced sexual violence or domestic abuse. As a Senior Advisor, you will be able to respond sensitively and compassionately to students in distress or facing crisis and will have an ability to give practical and emotional support. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Alongside maintaining advice provision, the Senior Advisor will contribute to the management of the service. We believe in improvement and progression, and we want our Service to be the best it can be for students. The Senior Advisor will help us achieve this through taking initiative, problem solving and making decisions on day-to-day operational issues and duty management of the service, as well as making wider improvements to service policy, processes, and systems. You’ll be working with a supportive team, and we ensure that there are regular opportunities for reflection and support for wellbeing, including access to external restorative supervision with an independent practitioner. Role Profile

You’ll act as the first point of contact for client referrals from North Lincolnshire Councils Adult Services. Clients will have already received a full assessment by the Adult Services team to identify and meet their personal care needs. Your role will complement the outcome of this assessment, enabling clients to explore and identify low level interventions in relation to their domestic and social needs.

You’ll empathise with people and provide person-centred support in a non-judgemental way, enabling them to self-manage. You’ll use a strength-based approach focusing on what the person can do for themselves to improve their quality of life and build resilience by supporting them to identify what assets they already have or can draw upon – family, friends, neighbours, religious organisations, community programmes, cultural and ethnic organisations, or other support groups throughout North Lincolnshire. Working as part of the wider integrated team, you’ll work to divert demand away from the ‘front door’ of health and adult social care, increasing the capacity of domiciliary care teams across North Lincolnshire and enabling a holistic approach to clients' health and wellbeing.

You’ll ensure service data and local intelligence is captured and communicated to inform the review, revision and development of interventions to meet needs, strengthen community and individual resilience and help to develop and grow accessible and sustainable activities and services that address the wider determinants of health and reduce health inequalities.

You’ll also record project outcomes and develop a feedback loop ensuring the impact of community response is reflected back to system partners, facilitating understanding of the impact of low level interventions on individuals and the system as a whole.

Loneliness is a major issue that is now widely recognised in society today, particularly amongst older people. By scheduling weekly calls from our trained volunteers, Age UK's National Telephone Friendship Service provides older people with a chance to make a new friend from the comfort of their home.

As a Friendship Coordinator, you will play a vital role in coordinating and supporting the thousands of matches between our members and volunteers across the UK. Whether you are answering emails and calls, ensuring safeguarding measures are upheld or supporting members and volunteers through the onboarding processes, you will be helping to ensure this much needed service reaches those who need it most, in a safe and efficient manner.

Utilising your excellent customer service skills, you will be the first port of call to support our volunteers and older members - so you'll need to be comfortable spending a lot of time on the phone and communicating by email. You'll also need to be passionate about supporting older people and have a good understanding of older people's needs.

This role can either be based at our office in Blackpool, or in Ashburton Devon. We offer a hybrid model of home and office based-working, so you will need to be within a reasonable distance of either the Blackpool or Ashburton office and be willing to travel there regularly. As a guide, the team currently work from the office once or twice a week but please be aware this could increase.

You will work a 35-hour working week, 5 days out of 7 with start and end times between 8am and 6pm. It will include weekend and bank holiday shifts, which will be arranged on a rota basis.

• Work closely with the senior retail team and shop supervisor to understand their stock requirements and be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of our van.

CPAG is looking for a welfare rights expert to manage our Early Warning System.

With a new government in place this is a great time to join the Advice and Rights Team at CPAG as we look to influence policy makers and parliamentarians and support the advice sector in delivering a fair and comprehensive social security system in the UK.

The Early Warning System (EWS) collates evidence of long-term concerns and developing issues within the benefit system, from the advice sector and beyond. EWS evidence is used to develop and promotes improvements to the benefits system with our colleagues in the Policy Team, as part of our work to end child poverty.

The EWS officer will actively promote the EWS, encouraging contributions from advisers and claimants. The EWS officer will record and analyse case studies as well as the issues which arise on our advice services, to provide insight on the impact of changes to the benefits system and evidence for our campaigning and research work.

You will play a key role in responding to calls for evidence and consultations, and liaison with the DWP and other policy makers. You will work closely with the advice sector through publications, briefings and events such as seminars and conferences, to increase advisers’ awareness of the concerns highlighted by the EWS and to promote solutions to support claimants.

This role is an expansion of our employment pathway and will be our first dedicated employment coach for our students.

PiP has developed a unique reputation for our experience and quality of employment support for adults with learning disabilities. This has led to an increased number of referrals with a focus on employment, an expansion of our in-house social enterprise capacity, and more employers keen to work alongside us to diversify their staff base.

PiP is keen to respond to and meet this demand. This role for us is the next step in doing so, allowing us to increase our job coaching capacity and providing more dedicated resource for students on their employment journey. As to date our coaching has been delivered across our existing staff team.

Are you a Chartered Surveyor passionate about property management and looking for an exciting new challenge? Join us at the heart of our retail operations as a Property Management Surveyor and play a pivotal role in managing our extensive portfolio of over 700 shops and stores.

About the role

As a Property Management Surveyor, you'll be the expert at the forefront, actively resolving landlord-related disputes and maintenance issues. Your day-to-day will involve providing professional advice, interpreting lease obligations, and ensuring a safe environment for our staff and volunteers. You'll also take charge of business rates across the portfolio, manage external rating consultants, and handle budgeting and payment approvals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing complex legal disputes related to property management, including failures to repair, rights of way disputes, and health and safety breaches
• Conducting site inspections to resolve critical cases and ensure compliance with lease covenants
• Close liaison and strategic advice to our retail colleagues and senior teams together with managing an Assistant Property Management Surveyor
• Offering expert rating advice with a thorough understanding of Charitable, Discretionary and Transitional Relief and the appeal process ensuring BHF receives top-notch advice and value for money
• Working in partnership with the wider Property Team to ensure quick resolution of cases to minimise store disruption.

Working arrangements
 
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office (NW1 7AW).

At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About you

As our successful candidate you will be a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS/FRICS) with a full understanding of Codes of Practice and Landlord & Tenant Legislation. 

You’ll have strong commercial property expertise, particularly in managing a large retail property portfolio and sound understanding of current property issues, markets and law.

• be able to develop and maintain strong working relationships, within the BHF and with external partners

Interview process

About the role  

We are seeking a Head of Development and Partnerships to join our Senior Management Team alongside the CEO, Head of Programmes and Head of Finance and Operations. 

You will drive income generation and partnerships development with funders and prime contractors within primarily the UK public and international development sectors, ensuring that our programmes, courses and consultancy offerings meet market needs and are financially sustainable.

You will lead on activities generating over £1m annually through grants, tenders, contracts, partnerships, and strategic communications contributing to The Human Edge's financial growth and brand development. 

As the key member dedicated to income generation, you will shape and expand our funding streams, driving the growth of our services while serving as a charismatic external ambassador and effective communicator and influencer.
