Experience in delivering Family Group Conferences is desirable but is not essential for this role. We are looking for senior operational leaders with experience in and passion for restorative practices.
The role offers flexible, hybrid working with a requirement to be in our Eastleigh, Hampshire office two days a week (Tuesday is an essential day). A successful candidate would need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and our teams throughout our programme areas on a regular basis, depending on service needs.
Willingness to travel to other areas, depending on service need and growth is also needed.

Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: Hybrid with two days a week in our Eastleigh, Hampshire Head Office – requirement for Tuesday in the office

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.
About the role
The role sits within a Critical Time Intervention (CTI) team working across Liverpool City Region.
Contract: 12 month fixed term contract, family leave cover
CTI is part of a housing-led response to ending homelessness. CTI is an evidence-based model, designed for times of transition for people who require support to navigate often fragmented systems. It uses a time limited case management approach to support people through a period of transition which works towards preventing and ending homelessness.
The model is strictly time limited and prescriptive in its application and Crisis’ CTI pilot will run close to the CTI principles. The timing of movement through the phases is defined by the Programme model.
CTI consists of four main phases:
- Pre CTI: in which the relationship with the client is developed and their goals and ambitions are identified, (no timescale – could be days, months or years)
- Transition: providing support & beginning to connect client to people and agencies that will assume the primary role of support and enable them to meet their goals (3 months)
- Try out: monitoring and strengthening support network and client’s skills (3 months)
- Transfer of care: terminating CTI and stepping right back (3 months)
The post holder will be working within the framework of CTI, supporting prison leavers from prison into accommodation, thus preventing homelessness on release from custody.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have experience of delivering person centred support with statutory and non-statutory services within the criminal justice system, offering coaching and mentoring, learning support and/or personal development training, ideally working to matrix standards. You will also have an appreciation of delivering this within a time limited framework.
You will demonstrate knowledge of issues affecting homeless or vulnerably housed individuals which could include mental illness, addiction, the benefit system and housing. Being committed to empowering homeless and vulnerably housed individuals is essential to this role.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you have a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Do you have experience working with families and children aged 0-13, a good understanding of the needs of vulnerable families and a relevant vocational or academic qualification?

General Duties:
1. To promote the programmes of work and manage the external and internal referral process including the assessment of need, risk and safeguarding concerns.
2. Hold a caseload of 4 families delivering “whole family” or targeted interventions.
3. Lead and facilitate community group work programmes including 6 #CapeAbility in Schools programme which aims to build resilience and self-esteem for children in key stage 2.
4. Lead and facilitate groupwork programmes for parents such Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities and Child Overcoming Domestic Abuse.
5. Safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults you work with directly and take appropriate action if escalation is needed.
6. To provide practical and emotional support to families or advocacy and signposting to specialist and universal services where appropriate.
7. Ensuring that the voices and views of children and young people are sought, heard and represented appropriately.
8. Attend designated meetings with multi-agency professionals and act as lead professional where appropriate to support the Team Around the Child/Family or Early Help Assessment (EHA).

Programme Overview
The Refugee Employability Programme is a new initiative that offers enhanced support to defined cohorts of legally recognised refugees in the UK. Starting in September 2023, the programme will provide tailored support for each participant focussed on gaining sustainable employment. Palladium will work with employers, local government, and other community partners to ensure that individuals are fully supported with their journey back to employment and integration into UK society. The programme includes delivery of employability- focussed English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) tuition for some of the defined cohorts.

Primary Duties and responsibilities:
As Case Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the front-line support to customers on the Home Office Refugee Employability Programme, ensuring that they receive excellent service which is compliant with all Home Office requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Take responsibility for engaging with potential customers, explaining eligibility and bringing in referrals to the programme as part of a coordinated team approach.
· Be accountable for your caseload of assigned customers and working with them to address their learning, integration and employment needs in line with both contractual requirements and the individual’s needs. This will include:
o Building rapport and a positive working relationship with each customer.
o Assessing the customer’s starting position to decide how to best meet their needs.

Location and compensation

Working in these services would mean overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. Crawley Foyer provides supported accommodation for young people aged 16 - 25 at risk of homelessness, staffed 24 hours a day providing a safe and encouraging environment for residents. In addition, our Youth Advice Centre is located adjacent to the Foyer which enables us to offer a range of services to young people living in the Foyer and in the wider community.
We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. Our staff team comprises of Support Workers, Night staff and two Managers. Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals.
In delivering the role, you will work on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day. You will work with the Managers and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our accommodation project. This includes delivering one to one sessions and group work sessions to assist residents to develop personally and socially in order that they grow in confidence and move towards independence. What will I be doing?
Evidence review
One of the primary roles you will undertake is a review of the existing evidence base around the profile and vulnerabilities of women engaged in the criminal justice system. This review will seek to synthesise evidence about both the prevalence of vulnerabilities of justice involved women and the mechanisms between those vulnerabilities and their offending. Findings from this evidence review will be key in supporting the development of messaging for policy makers, as well as contributing to the milestones below.
Analyse data to extract meaningful insights around the complex needs of women who come to court.
Our previous research into the vulnerabilities and unmet needs of people who come to court, and people’s experiences of the court process, all suggest that we must do much better to make the court process fairer. This is especially the case for women, who often have disproportionately high complex needs, and who often also have contact with the child protection system. This work will bring together evidence on the needs of women who come to court, in part by exploiting existing Community Advice service data to identify the number and profile of women attending court with support issues, as well as developing case studies. The evidence review will also play a core role in developing a picture of the evidence around the needs of women coming to court.
Contribute to the delivery of Women in Justice policy and practice priorities:
You will also support the delivery of our strategic aims in this area, in part through the findings of the evidence review. In particular, you will work with others to deliver the following milestones:

Analyse findings from recent fieldwork to develop recommendations to promote long-lasting change for community support for women with substance use disorders. Findings from the evidence review will ensure the recommendations are concrete and practical for policymakers, local authority commissioners and service providers.

Support the event management of a workshop convening practitioners working in, and interested in working in, problem-solving courts for women. Findings from the evidence review will be shared within the workshops to stimulate and inform discussions.

Promote the evidence for the use of problem-solving courts for women with policymakers. Summary findings from the evidence review will support the development of messaging for policy makers.
Development and engagement
Beyond these milestones, you will also support the development of the Centre’s Women in Justice programme, helping us develop our capacity to articulate the links between our work on women in contact with the criminal justice system and other relevant areas of work including family justice, women’s substance use and violence against women and girls. This work may involve working on the development of funding bids and supporting the Women in Justice area of focus leads in their work and stakeholder engagement. You will also attend any relevant events and parliamentary meetings that happen during this time, such as APPGs and VAWG conferences.

HERSANA CIC is the first and leading Gender-based Violence Support Service providing advice, support and advocacy to Black women and girls [femmes] who have experienced any form of gender-based violence.
We were founded in 2016, and have been championing the needs and safety of Black femmes ever since. HERSANA works directly with thousands of Black femmes who have experienced abuse and violence. We specialise in domestic abuse, sexual violence, female genital mutilation, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse and forced marriage.
We are a service run by Black women, for Black women, and with Black women in mind and at the forefront. We have been working to end violence against women and girls in all its forms whilst providing wholistic support to Black femme survivors by providing advocacy services nationally for Black femmes who need longer-term support.
We provide free long-term counselling, as well as short-term emotional and practical support. As a leading expert on violence against women and girls, HERSANA provides accredited and tailored training to a wide range of statutory professionals and workshops to young people and community groups.
