DFN Project SEARCH offer an evidence-based supported internship model which takes place entirely in the workplace.  The programmes provide continuous support to young adults with a learning disability, and autistic people who are aged between 16 – 24 with an Education Health and Care Plan, or equivalent, in their final year of education.

You will be required to identify opportunities to develop and grow DFN Project SEARCH programmes across a geographical area with the aim of supporting the organisation to ensure that as many people as need it have access to DFN Project SEARCH programmes.

In addition, you will be required to develop strategies to ensure that the operational programmes in your area are achieving at least the average outcomes expected for young people in our programmes and so you must be committed to continuous improvement.

You will be specifically required to develop strong partnerships and train and support colleagues within your area. You may also be required to support colleagues promoting DFN Project SEARCH in other areas, further European projects as required and contribute to the development of relevant UK focussed materials.

As a Programme Specialist you will be expected to:

• Demonstrate effective project planning and preparation so that each project delivers achieves the highest quality programme possible and outstanding employment outcomes for the interns.
• Establish effective working relationships with schools, colleges, local authorities, employers and the project professional staff to promote the building of excellent, high quality partnerships at each site to ensure the effective running of programmes and promote sustainability in a volatile environment.

 We are looking for an enthusiatic and confident Student Support Officer to work within our student, education and trade union teams at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

Based within our Practice and Development Directorate, this is an exciting new role for someone interested in supporting physiotherapy learners through their studies. You will have the opportunity to work closely with physiotherapy students to provide advice, support and guidance to those facing discrimination or bullying behaviour.

The role requires you to develop and sustain valuable relationships with the CSP’s network of student representatives and higher education institutions (HEIs) to support students seeking assistance. You will work closely with CSP staff, local CSP representatives and external stakeholders to understand the issues and needs of students, offering integrated support and advice.  You will be comfortable in communicating key messages, developing guidance and supporting promotional events to increase student engagement and recruitment. You will develop processes to capture data and evaluate the impact of this new role.

Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult hospices in the UK, providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, South West London and Middlesex. 

The Night Response Team (NR) provides specialist on call palliative nursing care between the hours of 22.00 and 08.00, 7 days a week for palliative care patients known to Princess Alice Hospice.

The Team also provides nursing care and assistance to palliative and general patients who are referred from the district nursing service, the OOH’s service (111), local ambulance services SECAMB and LAS, Mole Valley Telecare and Tunstall Community Alarm services. This includes palliative patients who are not known to PAH. Night Response visit patients in their own homes as well as in care and residential homes.

A Night Response shift will be covered by two members of staff per night, usually one RN and an SHCA, occasionally two RN’s.

We are based in an office on the in-patient unit at the Hospice. We receive calls, provide information, support and advice to patients, families, and other health care professionals, whilst visiting patients as required throughout the night.

The Night Response Service brings the skills and expertise of our highly trained and dedicated specialist team directly into the patients homes. This allows patients, their families and carers access to the vital support they need at home, when time matters most, providing the opportunity for patients to remain at home and reducing the need for hospital admissions.  

 About the role: 

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, dynamic and versatile Staff Nurse with excellent interpersonal, communication and telephone triage skills, to join our Night Response Team.

Experience in caring for patients who are terminally ill is essential. You will need to be able to work autonomously and have an excellent understanding of care provision in the community and be involved in auditing the service provided. 

You will need a full driving license with a maximum of 6 points for use of the hospice vehicle (automatic)

About Chapter One

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. 

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports about 3,000 children a year. It pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 140 local and national businesses. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

About the role 

Chapter One is seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Manager to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and deliver an excellent partner and volunteer experience. 

Reporting to our Head of Corporate Partnerships, and responsible for the line management of our Corporate Partnerships Officer, you’ll deliver on our annual volunteer and income targets and maintain our strong partner retention rate (target 87%). This will involve supporting the account management of a portfolio of existing partners and the responsibility to nurture relationships to increase partner investment in Chapter One over time. The role involves collaborating across departments to ensure a seamless and positive experience for volunteers and partners

Key Responsibilities

Partner Stewardship

• Lead the account management of a selected portfolio of corporate partners, ensuring Chapter One achieves its annual retention and growth targets 

• In collaboration with the Head of Corporate Partnerships, devise effective schemes of delegation and partner allocation within the Corporate Partnerships Team 

• Focus, in all corporate partnership discussions, on maximising income 

• Identify opportunities to increase a partner’s support eg by identifying other regional/divisional opportunities or inclusion of Chapter One as a social value partner in public sector bids

• Conduct regular partnership meetings, including mid and end of year reviews, proactively proposing tailored opportunities to retain and grow partner support

• Lead on producing high quality written communications, reports, proposals and pitches as per the requirements of each partner, collaborating with the Data and Systems Officer and Fundraising team as needed

• Advocate effectively, with passion and enthusiasm, for Chapter One’s programmes in a variety of internal and external settings

• Proactively network to deepen and strengthen external relationships with Chapter One partners, identifying speaking opportunities for Chapter One where possible

• Strategically use LinkedIn to identify, connect with, and actively engage key stakeholders within corporate partner organisations,

• Attend conference and events to represent Chapter One and talk about its work to existing and potential new partners

• Be a source of advice and guidance for the Corporate Partnerships Officer as they manage their allocated partner relationships

• Supervise the Corporate Partnerships Officer to lead volunteer recruitment meetings, including stepping in if necessary

• Supervise the Corporate Partnerships Officer to manage new partner onboarding meetings, stepping in to lead them if required

Partner/volunteer onboarding and experience

• Alongside the Head of Corporate Partnerships, use internal systems to assign partner teams and volunteers to specific schools and ensure that their needs are met

• Develop proactive, supportive relationships with Volunteer Coordinators in partner organisations, providing high-quality data and information in a timely manner

• Work closely with the Volunteer Support Team to ensure that partner and volunteer onboarding is a smooth, time-efficient experience 

• Support the Programme Management team to liaise with partner contacts about the organisation of in-person school/office visits and virtual meet and greets

• Attend Chapter One’s internal Volunteer Experience group and Corporate Engagement Group.

Marketing and Communications

• Work with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure that companies and volunteers have access to an array of promotional assets and recruitment materials

• Create and provide content for the regular volunteer and corporate partner newsletters, including working with partners to gather volunteer testimonials and partner profiles

• Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to develop ways to promote, showcase and celebrate partnerships and individual volunteers across our social media channels and other digital platforms

• Encourage corporate partners to promote Chapter One through their own social media and channels

• Support the organisation of online and in person partner and volunteer recognition events

We are looking for the following key skills, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others:

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to continue their career, within an organisation with real potential to progress into service management or specialist roles. Based within Single Homeless Project's (SHP) Islington Complex Needs Accommodation Service, you will work closely with the Regional Services Manager and a multi-disciplinary team to deliver intensive, person-centred support to clients at our Ashley Road project. This is a high-impact role, designed to support individuals with multiple and complex needs, including mental and physical health challenges, substance use, and a history of offending. You will support and empower our clients as they move from crisis towards stability, independence, and meaningful engagement in the community.

As a Project Worker, you will have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of some of the most marginalised people in our society. You will play a vital role in helping clients sustain accommodation, access services, and develop the skills and confidence needed to take control of their lives. You will work in close partnership with external agencies and professionals to deliver coordinated support, while also playing a key part in preventing homelessness and promoting long-term inclusion. The working rota for this post is Monday - Friday, with no weekend shifts. The rota will consist of a mixture of earlies (8am - 3.30pm) & lates (3pm - 10.30pm).

• Ability to manage a caseload and deliver positive outcomes utilising your knowledge of the health, social care and criminal justice sector.   
• A flexible, innovative and creative approach to working with a sometimes hard to engage and challenging client group, is also required.

PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE

Over recent years, SBP has grown from a fledgling charity to an established and impactful organisation with an annual budget of over £1m in restricted and unrestricted funds. 

Our existing Head of Finance, who has been with us through part of this journey, is shortly due to retire and will be replaced by this Head of Finance & HR role, with strategic and operational ownership of SBP’s finances, as well as responsibility of SBP’s HR policy and processes.

KEY LIAISONS

The Head of Finance & HR will report to SBP’s CEO and sit on SBP’s Management Team, comprising the CEO and other heads of functions. 

The role will manage our Finance & HR Officer and work closely with other members of the home-based SBP team, including colleagues in Fundraising leading on income generation.

The role will also communicate regularly with SBP’s Treasurer and the wider Board of Trustees to support their understanding of the charity’s financial and HR management.

Where required, the role will also have contact with SBP’s partners, suppliers and other external contacts in the course of managing the charity’s financial agreements and transactions.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational ownership of SBP’s finances, including:

• Control and management of SBP’s bank accounts and financial system (Xero).

• Responsibility for SBP’s financial transactions, payments and payroll.

• Responsibility for external claims/reporting, including Gift Aid claims and VAT returns.

• Responsibility for SBP’s financial processes, controls and policies.

• Line management and development of the Finance & HR Officer to support in the above. 

Strategic ownership and governance of SBP’s finances, including:

• Management and delivery of our annual budget and the budgeting/re-forecasting process, with input from the wider team.

• Management and delivery of our annual accounts and audit, in conjunction with an external accountant/auditor.

• Monthly financial reporting to the Management Team.

• Quarterly financial reporting to the Board of Trustees.

• Financial planning for the organisation, taking into account trends in spending and income, and planned growth of our activities.

• Assessment and communication of financial risks to the Management Team and Board of Trustees.

Financial advice and support to the wider SBP team, including:

• Providing financial information to feed into fundraising applications.

• Providing advice on VAT/financial risk in relation to new products, partnerships and agreements.

• Advising on budget creation and management for projects, commissions and operational areas.

Human resources policy and processes:

• Responsibility for SBP’s human resource processes, controls and policies.

• Oversight of contracting and on-boarding of new employees.

• Oversight of holiday management and storage of key documents/information using our HR system, Breathe. 

• Line management and development of the Finance & HR Officer to support in the above. 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), or equivalent level of knowledge/experience.

• Experience of reporting, budgeting, payroll and other finance processes at an operational and strategic level.

• Experience in a charitable organisation, or good working knowledge of the unique aspects of charity finance, including management of restricted and unrestricted funds.

• Experience of taking ownership of either a finance function or a discreet finance area, along with the responsibility for its accurate management and efficient running.

• Experience of presenting and explaining financial information to individuals and groups with varying levels of financial understanding.

• Experience of HR management policy and process.

• Experience of working with Xero, or proven ability to get up to speed quickly with new financial systems.

KEY SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

• Self-motivated and solutions-focused, with the capability and desire to take ownership of all relevant responsibilities and continually improve the charity’s financial and HR processes. 

• Comfortable working in a small organisational setting, without the support of a wider, multi-level finance and HR structure/team.

• Attentive to detail, in order to ensure that transactions, processes and reporting are accurate and reliable.

• Analytical, with the skills to provide financial analysis in support of decision-making and help others identify trends and anomalies in our finances.

• Skilled at taking financial data from a variety of sources (e.g. accounting software, bank, spreadsheets) and presenting it to a non-financial audience in an accessible format.

• Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills, with the flexibility to respond to changing needs in a dynamic working environment.

• Ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of people and build positive
  relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders.

• Desire and ability to stay up to date with financial and HR governance law and requirements as they relate to charities.

• Motivated to be part of a committed wider team working towards our vision for rewilding in Scotland.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Salary: £24,000-27,000 per annum on 0.6 FTE hours (pro-rated from £40,000-45,000 FTE), depending on experience. Salaries are paid in arrears on the last working day of each month by bank transfer.

Hours: Working hours are flexible, but must equate to a minimum of 22.5 working hours (0.6 FTE) per week, Monday to Friday. Note that the full-time working week at SBP is 37.5 hours. The nature of the post may from time to time require evening and weekend work. Paid overtime is not available, but time off in lieu will be given. 

Place of work: This role is home-based within Scotland and will require a suitable home office working environment (SBP can provide a laptop and support additional equipment needs). Attendance of meetings and events in other parts of Scotland will also be required periodically, with travel expenses paid in accordance with SBP’s Expenses Policy. 

Contract: Permanent.

Flexibility: Subject to ensuring that the needs of the charity and the role are met, SBP endeavours to meet the flexible working needs of its employees. 

Holidays: 16.8 days on 0.6 FTE hours (pro-rated from our FTE allowance of 28 days) including public holidays, plus 5 additional office closure days between Christmas and New Year. 

Pensions: You may be eligible to be enrolled into SBP’s employee pension scheme. Written terms of the scheme are available on request. 

Probationary period: 6 months. 

Notice period: 2 months.

We are working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub. This forms part of the transformation of mental health services in the London borough of Bromley under the NHS Long Term Plan. 

The service brings together the expertise of local primary, secondary and voluntary sector mental health care providers with the aim of providing flexible, holistic and integrated services for adults with mental health problems.

The integrated team provides brief intervention support to people with mental health problems within a primary care and community mental health setting, helping people develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Senior Peer Support Coordinator to support the development and lead on the delivery of mental health peer support in the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub. You will lead the team, which includes peer support staff and volunteers, and take responsibility for the design, coordination and delivery of recovery orientated peer support to people with mental health problems on a group and one to one basis.
