About Us: Margaret Green Animal Rescue, the oldest and largest Dorset-based Animal Welfare Charity, is dedicated to providing the highest standards of animal care. With Rescue & Rehoming Centres in both Dorset and Devon, we serve those animals in need of rescue with compassion and commitment. Our network of Charity Shops across Dorset generates vital income to support our mission.
What We’re Looking For: As we embark on an exciting strategic revitalisation phase, we’re seeking to expand our Board of Trustees (currently comprising 5 trustees). We aim to strengthen the range of trustee skills available to support the charity in achieving its objectives. If you’re passionate about animal welfare and possess expertise in any of the following areas, we’d love to hear from you:

Role Responsibilities: As a trustee, you’ll contribute your professional expertise to provide strategic direction and expert input. Your responsibilities will include:
- Governance: Overseeing the charity’s activities and ensuring compliance.
- Strategic Guidance: Defining the strategy and supporting the charity in achieving its goals.
- Collaboration: Working alongside our Chief Executive and senior management team, sharing your expertise and helping to bridge any skills gaps in our tight, efficient central team, so that we can make best use of the charitable donations we receive to help animals.
Time Commitment: Expect to dedicate 1-2 days per month to help shape our future strategy, provide your expert input and govern the charity. We hold face-to-face meetings in Dorset and Devon approximately six times a year. Living within an hour of our main Wareham site in Dorset is ideal. Additionally, we have regular ad-hoc online meetings, typically one evening every 6-8 weeks.

You’ll take some of the stress and anxiety out of getting around and taking part in activities as a blind or partially sighted person. The help you give will encourage people to do more. What you’ll be doing • Sighted guiding / giving practical help to individuals in and around venues, so they can take part in events. • Supporting volunteers with sight loss with their volunteering activities which range from facilitating a regular community group to delivering a talk about sight loss to a local business. Your role would involve things like guiding; Meeting and greeting at group activities or creating a welcoming and interesting display stand at events. In this role you will only be helping individuals in places open to the public, often in a group setting. We will provide training in sighted guiding techniques and understanding sight loss. The Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) is operated by a non-profit Community Interest Company providing accreditation to suppliers of Proof of Age Cards in the UK. Card suppliers are assessed against strict standards by qualified auditors to ensure that they operate to the highest standards. Sellers of age restricted products can be confident in accepting cards with a PASS hologram, safe in the knowledge that the scheme is supported by the police, trading standards and a wide range of trade bodies.
We have entered exciting times and are currently working with our interoperability provider on digital proof of age (dPASS) which will allow individuals to prove their age quickly and securely using digital proof of age providers accredited against industry defined PASS standards.
We are seeking an experienced Independent Director, who will also act as Vice Chair, who can put to use their knowledge and expertise into supporting PASS as we move towards implementing our digital proof of age scheme.
We are seeking a passionate individual with specific knowledge and expertise in at least one of the following areas:
·Digital proof of age and/or age estimation
·Interoperability systems and process
·Commercial / technical
·CiC background and/or strategic business development
·Legally qualified

We are looking for a new Honorary Treasurer to join our diverse Board of Trustees. This is a key role within the organisation, offering a wonderful opportunity to make a difference to the lives of separated children arriving in the UK.
In addition to the general responsibilities of a Trustee, the Honorary Treasurer maintains an overview of The Separated Child Foundation’s financial affairs, monitors the financial administration of the charity and provides financial management advice and information to the Board of Trustees and to the Chief Executive.
Main responsibilities

Financial overview
• Act as the main interface between the Board of Trustees and the Chief Executive on financial matters
• Advise the Board as necessary on its financial duties and responsibilities
• Maintain an overview of the organisation’s financial status and viability and provide overall financial management advice to the Board and to the Chief Executive
• Advise and monitor financial risks to which the organisation is exposed
• Oversight of and input into financial controls
• Involvement in the preparation of the Trustees’ Annual Report and Accounts (TARA) and Annual Review
Strategic input and budget monitoring
• Work with the Chief Executive to draft 1-3 year budgets to deliver the strategic plan
• Advise on the financial implications of the strategic plan
• Support the Chief Executive’s review of monthly management accounts as needed
Additionally, the Honorary Treasurer is a key member of the Management Committee, which – amongst other duties – reviews and makes recommendations to the Board on staff pay in line with the charity’s policy

More than 12,000 unpaid family carers are registered with us for support with their own health and wellbeing. You will be phoning to say Hello to newcomers or check in with others who may be quietly but desperately struggling.

The Gardens Trust is looking to appoint a new Chair of Trustees.
Our new Chair will lead the Board, working closely with other Officers and Trustees to foster an environment for collaboration, good decision making and effective governance during a period of exciting change and development for our organisation.
The Gardens Trust is the only UK national charity dedicated to conserving historic parks and gardens for everyone to enjoy today and in future. We campaign for them, undertake research and conservation work, and encourage public appreciation and involvement. We are a statutory consultee in the English planning system, publish an internationally respected journal, and are passionate about having an impact in local communities. We work closely with volunteers in 37 County and Country Gardens Trusts.
The ideal candidate may have an interest in gardens and garden history, but more important is a commitment to our charitable aims, experience of working with or as part of a Board of Trustees and an understanding of the challenges facing the charitable sector. A desire to support a small, established and ambitious organisation, and a willingness to learn and adapt skills to our needs are the most important qualities we are looking for. The Bird of Prey Project is recruiting for new Trustees, to join our board. We are specifically recruiting for Trustees with a fundraising background, but welcome applications from anyone else who believes they have skills which would benefit our Board.
Our mission is to conserve wild birds of prey, and the biodiverse ecosystems they live in. We work with a team of over 20 birds of prey and owls in a free flight education programme to inspire our visitors at our multi-award-winning centre. Our work as a charity includes community education, alongside active conservation including rehabilitation, wild bird of prey breeding site monitoring, research and habitat monitoring.
A Trustee, as a member of the Board, will:
