Role

In this exciting role, you will provide pro–active emotional, practical and advocacy support for male and non-binary survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system. 

Our ISVAs work with clients currently residing in any London borough, or if the abuse was committed in any London borough. Some travel to London will be expected.

We consider people from a wide range of educational backgrounds and work experience. What matters is that you are empathetic and will support the specific needs of our clients.

As a Trainee you will have a basic knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting people experiencing debt and benefit problems along with some experience in an advice service or customer facing setting along with the ability and willingness to undertake training and development.

Based at our Newtown office with outreach work in other areas of the city, you will be adaptable with excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage your own workload.

Carers Manchester South (CMS) brings together three organisations: Manchester Carers Forum, Lifted and Together Dementia Support. The work of the team is focussed specifically on South Manchester. The Team works closely as part of Carers Manchester to raise awareness and identification of carers, and to identify what support is needed for carers that isn’t already there. Forming one team made up of partner organisations allows members of the team to each bring their own skills, experience, knowledge and passion to work together to put the quality of life of carers at the heart of what they do. The postholder would be directly employed by Manchester Carers Forum and would lead this team.

PiP has developed a unique reputation for our experience and quality of employment support for adults with learning disabilities. This has led to an increased number of referrals with a focus on employment, an expansion of our in-house social enterprise capacity, and more employers keen to work alongside us to diversify their staff base.

PiP is keen to respond to and meet this demand. Interview information

This will be a two-stage interview process.

First stage interviews are scheduled to take place on the 16th and 18th September 2024 at St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Walton Lane, Bosham, Chichester. Second stage interviews will be held w/c 23rd September 2024.

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Education & Training/Volunteer Coordinator to join our team.

Where: Luton

Hours:  15 hrs per week

Salary:  £11,700 per annum dependent on experience

About the role:

• Oversee the day-to-day administration and supervision of volunteers.
• Coordinate the educational and training programme offered by Women’s Aid in Luton.

About You

• You are deeply committed to supporting women and children affected by gender-based violence and exploitation.
•  You have previous experience in volunteer coordination, education, or training roles, preferably within the charity sector.
• ·Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• ·Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging and motivating volunteers and stakeholders.
• You work well in a collaborative environment and are able to build positive relationships with team members and volunteers
• You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and can handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.

Do you work in an information, advice, guidance, or a support setting? If so we’d like to hear from you! We are looking for an individual who is passionate about welfare rights and supporting students. Being a Senior Advisor at the University of Manchester Students’ Union is all about empowering students to exercise their rights and options if they encounter problems during their time at university.

The Students’ Union Advice Service supports a student population of over 40000 with case numbers averaging over 3000 per year. You’ll be giving one-to-one advice on academic issues, housing, money issues and student life. You’ll enjoy this role if you’re interested in the law and getting to grips with regulations, policies and procedures, so you can help people to understand their rights and challenge poor practice. Through your work you will directly contribute to the Students’ Union strategic theme that students feel well supported. As a Senior Advisor, you’ll also be there to ensure we are providing a great experience service.

We are looking for someone who will be able to support students professionally and with a high level of empathy. Our Advice Service is used by students who are facing difficult or complex circumstances including mental ill health, disabilities, financial hardship or who have experienced sexual violence or domestic abuse. As a Senior Advisor, you will be able to respond sensitively and compassionately to students in distress or facing crisis and will have an ability to give practical and emotional support. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Alongside maintaining advice provision, the Senior Advisor will contribute to the management of the service. We believe in improvement and progression, and we want our Service to be the best it can be for students. The Senior Advisor will help us achieve this through taking initiative, problem solving and making decisions on day-to-day operational issues and duty management of the service, as well as making wider improvements to service policy, processes, and systems. This role will really suit you if you’re enthusiastic and approachable and would enjoy speaking to students and our stakeholders in a variety of settings.

You’ll be working with a supportive team, and we ensure that there are regular opportunities for reflection and support for wellbeing, including access to external restorative supervision with an independent practitioner. You’ll have access to training and continuing professional development across the range of advice we offer to help you excel as a Senior Advisor.
