Purchased for the nation from the Rothschild family, it was opened to the public by Neville Chamberlain in 1926. A major £50m restoration project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund was completed in 2018, the park and garden is Grade II listed.
The Charitable Trust’s aim is to make Gunnersbury an outstanding, sustainable green space, celebrating its unique heritage and providing a wide range of educational and cultural activities, events and facilities accessible to all members of the community. Also, to conserve, manage and develop Gunnersbury Estate as a sustainable, recreational, cultural, and educational resource for the benefit of, and in partnership with, all of its local communities.

The role:
This person will have responsibility for the management, maintenance and improvement of the 185 acres of sports, nature areas, heritage parkland and gardens for the benefit of the local community and beyond. This will involve extensive horticultural management responsibilities in addition to a broad range of support, logistical and administrative activities. These will include extensive stakeholder engagement, contract management, finance and budgeting, public health and safety, procurement and team member management and development. This is a very broad role with a wide array of systems management and day to day park management responsibilities. This person will also be a true ambassador for the Park, both with members of the public and those who come into contact with the Park professionally.
The person:
The successful candidate will have extensive Park Management experience in a similar sized public park or community green space. They will have experience of managing service contracts, managing in-house teams, developing volunteer and outreach programs and ideally, of successfully applying for Grant funding in similar spaces and delivering on these agreements. A warm and approachable person, the ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for Park management and involving the public in regular use and patronage of these special green spaces. This person will also be numerate and well-organised with good logistical, administrative and back office management experience.
This person’s role as an ambassador for the Gunnersbury Park can not be overstated, this will be a core aspect of the role and we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys managing big public parks, green spaces, bio-diversity and preserving these spaces for future generations.

Background to School Food Matters
School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.
Young Marketeers
This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!
Key Tasks include:
· Recruit four schools to take part in Young Marketeers
· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project

About the Role

We are looking for people to join us as part time peripatetic Night Workers as part of the Bristol Out of Hours Service (BOOHSI). The service provides out of hours trauma informed support to 5 accommodation services across our mixed and Women’s pathway, aimed at strengthening the existing provision of support to clients with multiple needs and experiencing homelessness.
As an out of hours Night Worker, you will work in pairs alongside another night worker, visiting up to 5 different accommodation services at night. Planning your time well, and taking instruction from day staff and on-call managers you will:
- Provide vital support and assistance to clients at night, be available to listen and deal with people’s individual needs as they arise.
- Develop a good knowledge of relevant protocols and safety precautions so that you can appropriately deal with emergency situations that arise during your shift.
- Carry out relevant building and welfare checks, monitoring issues like noise in the locality and within the building and carrying out relevant administrative tasks and incident reporting.
- Be provided with training and development to ensure you feel confident to carry out your duties and provide high quality services to our clients.
- Work on the rotating night shift rota. With typical shifts from 7pm – 1am, 4 nights on and 3 nights off.

The role is primarily focused on HQ finances and will also work with colleagues across our global finance team. The role focuses on accounts payable and as the finance assistant develops in the role will offer the chance to work across a number of finance functions, including: treasury, accounts receivable, month end close, management accounting, supporting year end audit. This role provides a great opportunity to experience the full breadth of finance work in a charity across all functions in a varied and interesting role, learning quickly and making a real difference from day one.
Part 2: Key Responsibilities:
1) (60%) Accounts Payable
- Recording all approved supplier invoices, requisitions, staff expenses and other expenditure in the accounting system ensuring that they are all appropriately coded including the correct cost centre, GL code, projects and donor codes.
- Ensure that all supporting documentation for all transactions are uploaded into the finance system.
- Ensuring that all invoices for payment are appropriately approved by budget holder.
- Running short term cash flow forecasting and recommending bank account transfers including moving cash held in reserve into current access accounts. Looking for value for money in Foreign Currency transfers by choosing the best means of payment from available payment platforms.
- Ensure timely payment of all invoices by managing at least two payment runs a week and additional runs as required; setting up payments on online banking platforms and sending out requests for payment approvals to payment authorisers and verifying that all payments are fully approved by the deadline set.
- Once the payment is made, allocating the payment against the invoices in the Finance system and reviewing to ensure that all payments are allocated correctly.
- Reviewing staff expense claims to ensure that all supporting documentation is provided before payment.
- Supporting monthly staff credit card reconciliations to run the monthly statements.
- Monthly creditor account reconciliations to ensure correct allocation of payments to supplier accounts and validating any open account balances.

2) (20%) Month end support and general support

As a Research and Insight Analyst at the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC), you will be a key member of the Analysis and Insights (A&I) team, dedicated to empowering the NFCC and UK Fire and Rescue Services with actionable insights that drive informed decision-making. Role Summary
The role will support the Development team to successfully raise over £3.5 million annually through fundraising, in addition to a concurrent £19.25m capital campaign. The successful candidate will efficiently manage the day to day running of The Old Vic’s individual giving scheme, reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and working with the Individual Giving Officer to implement and carry out a yearly strategic plan to retain and increase support across all levels of Membership and wider areas of giving.
Areas of responsibility
Individual Giving
- Contribute to developing a strategic plan for individual giving including Membership, small to medium sized donations across all giving channels.
- Assume responsibility for The Old Vic’s philanthropic individual giving Membership scheme, OV Together.
- Retain and increase support by delivering excellent stewardship, including delivery of benefits and events, and communication with donors.
- Generate and convert new donor prospects in order to meet and exceed agreed annual individual giving targets of c. £1.25 million to contribute to the overall Development team target.

Administration
- Oversee lists and draft communications going out to individual supporters including season announcements, updates and invitations and segmenting mailing lists when necessary.
