The Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH) is a Charity and Company Limited by guarantee and is the representative body for Directors of Public Health (DPH) in the UK. We are now looking to appoint a Communications and Marketing Manager to develop, manage and lead our external communications and marketing programme, working to support the Head of External Affairs to broaden our reach and ensure that the DPH voice has impact.

The successful candidate will have experience in working in a communications environment, be skilled at working with the media and able to produce engaging content for a range of channels and audiences.

Excellent interpersonal and prioritisation skills are required to lead and manage cross team projects and line manage, support and develop the Project Administrator.

Art History Link-Up believe that art history shouldn’t belong to the handful of people who currently have the opportunity to study it, unfortunately currently, fewer than 1% of state schools offer History of Art A level. To address this, AHLU has provided free courses in art history to over 500 students from over 300 schools across the UK. As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Crouch End Branch, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. • Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
• Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.

• Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.

Job Description

People & Culture

• Lead the review and development of HR policies and processes to ensure that they embody People’s Economy’s values, and support effective working and staff wellbeing, drawing in external expertise as necessary.

• Lead the development and implementation of recruitment processes for staff vacancies, ensuring compliance with People’s Economy’s recruitment policy and employment law.

• Lead the implementation of formal HR processes e.g. disciplinary processes, contract variations, and act as the key point of contact with People’s Economy’s external HR advisers. 

• Contribute to the development of organisational culture and values and ensure that they are embedded, promoted and enacted throughout the organisation.

• Lead review and development of People’s Economy’s safeguarding policy, processes and practice including staff and trustee training.

• Lead the work to build and maintain staff health and safety and wellbeing, through developing appropriate systems, processes and practices.

• Undertake day-to-day HR administration, including leave booking and sickness absence recording. 

Operations

• Develop policies, systems and processes to support the effective functioning of the organisation and (with support from the Programme Director) which support the implementation of programme and project delivery.

• Develop and maintain People’s Economy’s IT systems, including working with external providers to review IT security. 

• Lead on regularly reviewing and updating People’s Economy’s remote and hybrid working policies and supporting colleagues to access suitable equipment and workspace to carry out their roles.

• Support the Programme Director set up and manage the operation of People’s Economy’s monitoring, evaluation and learning systems and their embedding across the organisation.

• Support the Executive Director to implement People’s Economy’s Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression (DIAO) policy and lead the annual process of reviewing and updating the policy, and relevant organisational systems and processes to support the implementation of the policy. 

Finance

• Lead People’s Economy’s financial management and control, including:

  • Manage People’s Economy’s book-keeping and payroll providers to ensure that high quality records of income and expenditure are maintained and the smooth operation of supplier payments, invoicing, payroll and pensions contributions.

  • Oversee the timely production of regular financial reporting including management accounts, cash forecasting and quarterly reporting to the Board. Scrutinise regular finance reports and work to resolve any issues identified. 

  • Liaise with People’s Economy’s accountant and manage the annual process of independent examination and producing year-end reports and accounts.

• Lead on financial planning, including the preparation of an annual organisational budget and lead on updating budget information throughout the year.

• Create systems and processes to support staff to develop and manage budgets for the programmes and projects that they are leading.

• With support from the Executive Director, lead the development of organisational business plans and monitoring of progress against them, including reporting on progress to the Trustee Board.

• Lead on maintaining robust and up-to-date information about the organisation’s income pipeline. 

• Lead on fundraising administration:

  • Track progress against income targets ensuring information is kept up to date and regularly updating the Executive Director on the position.

  • Manage funder reporting and invoicing, working closely with colleagues leading funder relationships and with People’s Economy’s book-keeping provider.

Governance and Legal

• Lead on compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements including data protection, employment law, health and safety, and charity law.

• Ensure that People’s Economy has appropriate insurance in place.

• Lead on Trustee Board administration and support the good functioning of the Board, including by managing trustee recruitment processes when required.

• Lead on maintaining the organisational risk register and reporting on it to the Trustee Board. 

• Work with the Executive Director to ensure that there are effective mechanisms to ensure the robustness of external and internal controls (financial and non-financial).

Line Management

• Oversee People’s Economy’s book-keeping providers, and line manage possible future roles, supporting post-holders to carry out their roles effectively and to develop professionally.

As part of its strategy, The Trust has ambitious plans to grow its access to the workplace programmes at both pre and post 18 age groups, in new and innovative ways. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Programmes Senior Officer to join our team and support the expansion of the Sutton Trust programmes.

The successful candidate will deliver the existing Careers Plus programme and will be responsible for s setting up two new industry strands in Tech and Consulting. They will also be responsible for the employer engagement of its Pathways to Engineering programme. They will join a small team and will play an important role in contributing to the on-going success of our programme work and industry engagement strategy.

The Senior Officer will work closely with the Programmes and Development teams to develop and deliver impactful programmes across a range of sectors. This is an extremely exciting time to be at the Trust and the role will require individuals to be creative and to think strategically about our approach.

This role will fit into a team of nine, led by the Head of Employability, and will be line managed by the Senior Employer Engagement Manager.

Main duties

• Plan and implement delivery for the three Careers Plus programmes, including skills sessions, work experience and mentoring across a range of sectors (Tech, Consulting and Law)
• Liaise with external delivery organisations to ensure the sessions and content of the programme meets its intended aims
• Recruit and manage a cohort of Careers Plus students (three strands, 30-60 students per strand), leading on communication to drive engagement and attendance across programme activities
• Evaluate the programme activities and delivery model to enable future programme development
• Supporting the effective delivery of high-quality in-person and virtual work experience and employer engagement as part of the Trust’s Pathways to Engineering and Access Apprenticeships in Engineering programmes.

• Following up with students in the case of any unexpected absence or non-attendance at work experience placements.

Person Specification

We are looking for a part-time maternity cover Finance Officer to join our ambitious and growing type 1 diabetes medical research charity, Breakthrough T1D. 

As one of two Finance Officers you will focus on income processing, credit control and gift aid. Reporting to the Head of Finance, but working closely with the Supporter Care team, this is a key role in contributing towards the smooth operation of the Finance team responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial information to the organisation.

You will be proficient with accounting and other software packages including Excel and Sage 200 or equivalents. 

You’ll have previous experience of charity income accounting and knowledge of fundraising platforms. You will be able to work independently as well as being part of the Finance team. 

Experience required 

• ​Good Finance experience at a similar level preferably in the Charity sector

• Solid experience of producing sales invoices and identifying and dealing with debt 

• Ability to handle large amounts of data in Excel 

• Good attention to detail and high level of numeracy skills

Overview

The Operations and Systems Manager is a key role in the Operations Team and will focus on ensuring that our staff, all home-working and many based internationally, can engage positively with Global Dialogue’s operational systems and processes. The scope of the role covers IT and digital tools, digital security, data management, HR, insurance and travel, as well as the organisation’s equipment, and health and safety protocols.

Job Description

• Responsible for the maintenance and development of systems and processes that support Global Dialogue’s operations across a range of functions.
• Provide operational support to programme staff across the organisation as needs arise.

About the Organisation

The charity seeks to give joy through live music through the provision of live music sessions for people receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK, including those who are vulnerable, the elderly, those with dementia and in critical care.

GADN brings together expert NGOs, consultants, academics and individuals committed to working on gender equality, development and women’s rights issues. 

The Policy and Advocacy Officer role is part of a small team at the GADN Secretariat, consisting of the Director, Head of Policy, and Network Coordinator. The post holder will work with the Head of Policy and Director to implement the Feminist Reframing of Macro-level Economics (REFRAME) programme and support with GADN’s core advocacy towards the UK government. 

We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of, and commitment to, gender equality, women’s and girls’ rights, and international development issues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for women’s economic justice and a willingness to actively work on these topics, alongside a clear commitment to anti-racism. You will bring experience in advocacy (ideally in a UK context), along with administrative experience of providing support to a busy team.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Finance and Operations Manager to lead and strengthen our financial and operational functions as we continue to grow.
