About the role:

Reporting to the Associate Head of Philanthropy, this post plays a key role in securing and stewarding major gifts from trusts and foundations. You will be managing and actively developing existing donors, as well as proactively identifying and cultivating new donor opportunities. The role will involve attending cultivation and stewardship events as well as liaising with the prospect research function and wider Philanthropy team.

• Job title: Youth Programme Practitioner (Sessional)

We are a running & movement charity based in Hackney that empowers young people through movement, supported by volunteers and brands such as Nike, Moju, FIIT and Lacoste. Through working with our community and partners, we aim to boost the well-being, teamwork and communication skills for young people across East London. 

For a relatively new organisation, we’ve already had a big impact through supporting hundreds of local young people and changing the landscape of youth work in the process. 

Last year we launched an exciting partnership with Nike’s Social and Community impact team. As Youth Practitioner, you will help us to scale our Nike schools programme. You’ll deliver our movement programmes across schools in East London, aiming to engage more young people in movement and running.

What do we want?

We are looking for a Youth programme practitioner to work alongside the Youth Programme’s team to develop and deliver our Nike funded schools programme targeted at Year 7 and 8 young people (age 11-13) across East London. 

You need to be passionate about getting young people moving, in particular girls and young women, and believe in the power of excellent youth work. You'll have a good understanding of the barriers and challenges faced by young people living in East London.

What you’ll be working on: 

Supporting our movement programmes 

• You’ll deliver fun and engaging sessions in schools to young people aged 11-13, alongside teachers and volunteer coaches.

• You’ll work with the Youth Programme Lead and other Youth Practitioners to design holistic fitness programmes with a focus on running and movement whilst also bringing other sports, games and wellness activities.

• You’ll support the development of our holistic movement programmes targeted at 8-13 year olds in schools, piloting this new approach alongside our existing programmes outside of school.

• You’ll undertake administration tasks such as ensuring evaluation forms are completed, uploading data to our CRM system and planning sessions.

• You’ll complete any other business required by management and pitch in to help with other tasks at busy times during the year 

Working with young people and their families 

• You’ll develop and maintain relationships with young people and parents.

• You’ll support young people's attendance at approximately 5 races per year.

• You’ll work with the Youth Programme Team to plan and deliver summer activities.

• You’ll ensure safeguarding procedures are upheld for all young people.

Main Purpose of the Role

The Pro Bono OR Manager will lead and drive forward the Pro Bono OR programme. This provides third sector organisations with free operational research (OR) support via volunteer led projects.

Pro Bono OR Responsibilities

Operate the Pro Bono OR scheme:

· Oversee Pro Bono OR projects, including matching volunteers to users and/or projects. Ensure the smooth running of projects, with prompt communication to both volunteers and users. Provide support to volunteers and users and resolve issues as needed.

· Monitor project progress, evaluate outputs and outcomes. Ensure relevant data is collected and stored appropriately. Collect relevant data to prepare an annual report for The OR Society’s Board.

· Maintain a list of Pro Bono OR volunteers and provide support to them, including providing resources, training, and recognition to volunteers.

· Review and maintain the scheme’s processes and procedures.

· With the Steering Group chair, coordinate Pro Bono OR Steering Group meetings, ensuring minutes and meeting papers are prepared and archived.

Grow the impact of the Pro Bono OR scheme:

· Promote Pro Bono OR to potential users and volunteers, including giving presentations and speaking at conferences, writing articles and newsletters, using social media and maintaining webpages.

· Maintain existing relationships and build new relationships with partners in third sector, identifying areas of mutual interest and seeking opportunities for collaboration.

· Identify potential third sector users and be the first point of contact for them.

· Identify potential volunteers and keep them engaged, explore additional ways volunteers can support Pro Bono OR in addition to undertaking projects.

· Maintain a link with the Third Sector Special Interest Group, support them and the member of staff with responsibility for Special Interest Groups where required.

· Oversee the Pro Bono OR webinar programme.

The RAF Charitable Trust is looking for someone with vision and ambition to lead the organisation. The need for our work is clear. Technology and aviation continue to advance at an unprecedented rate. The IET estimates that the skills shortage in STEM jobs costs the UK economy £1.5bn a year, and there are over 173,000 STEM vacancies. The UK Commission for Employment and Skills stated in 2022 that 43 per cent of STEM vacancies were hard to fill due to a shortage of applicants, leaving tech skills in even higher demand. The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Diversity and Inclusion in STEM also notes significant inequality in high skilled and graduate level roles for those from minority and disadvantaged backgrounds. RIAT’s ongoing success enables RAFCT to be increasingly ambitious regarding its impact through the inspiration of young people: 1. By 2026, RAFCT will have delivered high-quality interventions to over 500,000 young people (measured from 2022).

Job Purpose

· To support residents of Havering in, or at risk of fuel poverty, by fitting simple energy-efficiency measures in their homes. These measures include putting up curtain poles and thermal curtains, installing radiator reflector panels, draught-proofing, fitting LED light bulbs and damp and moisture damp readers.

· Working as part of our handyperson team you will deliver kind and friendly person-centred services to diverse communities across east London and Essex. You will work with people referred by our community partners, our hospital discharge teams, and wider AUKEL colleagues to help older people remain safe in their homes.

Employment Details

 Contract type

This contracted post is for 35 hours per week (working day pattern to be decided) and may require some out of hours or weekend work as required.  We welcome application for flexible working including reduced hours and other flexible working arrangements.

Location

The post holder will be mostly based at London Borough of Havering

Salary  Between £28,840 and £31,390 Plus 5% employer pension contribution.

We have recently introduced a salary bands system. This salary range refers to the lowest and top steps of the grade. Salary will progress every year until the top salary is reached.

Holiday entitlement

25 days (pro-rata for contracted hours) of paid holiday per year plus bank holidays. This increases after two years of service to 27 days, and then a further one day per every year of service up to a maximum of 30 days after five years of service. In addition, all employees are entitled to one day off on (or around) their Birthday.

CPAG is looking for a welfare rights expert to manage our Early Warning System.

With a new government in place this is a great time to join the Advice and Rights Team at CPAG as we look to influence policy makers and parliamentarians and support the advice sector in delivering a fair and comprehensive social security system in the UK.

The Early Warning System (EWS) collates evidence of long-term concerns and developing issues within the benefit system, from the advice sector and beyond. EWS evidence is used to develop and promotes improvements to the benefits system with our colleagues in the Policy Team, as part of our work to end child poverty.

The EWS officer will actively promote the EWS, encouraging contributions from advisers and claimants. The EWS officer will record and analyse case studies as well as the issues which arise on our advice services, to provide insight on the impact of changes to the benefits system and evidence for our campaigning and research work.

You will play a key role in responding to calls for evidence and consultations, and liaison with the DWP and other policy makers. You will work closely with the advice sector through publications, briefings and events such as seminars and conferences, to increase advisers’ awareness of the concerns highlighted by the EWS and to promote solutions to support claimants.

We are looking to appoint an experienced and collaborative fundraising manager to lead our small fundraising team at Ely Cathedral. This post plays a significant role in sustaining and developing the income the Cathedral needs, adhering to the highest ethical standards and in line with the law and good practice.

Duties include nurturing and managing existing relationships with supporters and donors and developing new income streams using a range of approaches, ensuring that these are integrated sensitively, with the mission and work of the Cathedral in mind.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in fundraising from a variety of sources in a small or medium-sized charity setting, experience of managing others, and have experience of raising funds for capital projects between £100,000 and £2million.

Experience of fundraising within a church setting or the heritage sector, possession of a fundraising qualification from a recognised body such as the Institute of Fundraising, and experience of leading a step-change in the income raised by a fundraising team are not essential but would be an advantage.

Your role:

The Grantmaking Operations team sits within the Fund’s Operations department and is primarily focused on ensuring that resources are reaching frontline activist organizations. The team seeks to hire a Grants Specialist who will report to the Managers of Grantmaking Operations and manage the Fund’s most complex grantmaking programs.

The successful candidate will join a high-performing, enthusiastic grants management team, a deeply committed global staff, and an organization constantly learning and adapting to global contexts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Grantmaking

• Manage due diligence and enhanced grantmaking protocols for a highly complex and high-volume portfolio of grants spanning 50+ countries.
  • Inform the development and implementation of grantmaking plans, ensuring they are robust and responsive to changing contexts and needs.
  • Research compliance and financial regulation for various country contexts as needed and flag potential areas of risk to the Manager of Grantmaking Policy and Models.
  • Identify and flag operational challenges that may have an impact on programmatic grantmaking ambitions, potential donor commitments or grantmaking advisory bodies.
  • Coordinate with Program and Grantmaking Operations to ensure grants and grantee relationships are managed according to their risk level and operating context.
  • Together with Program, Fundraising and Finance teams coordinate grant recommendation processes and timeline for grantmaking portfolios.
    • Prepare and organize applicant materials and prospective grantee documents for all LEF cohorts.
    • Manage incoming grant proposals and evaluate eligibility of prospective grantees in line with grantmaking due diligence protocols.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for grantees, enhancing grantee relations and maintaining communication in multiple languages, including but not limited to English and French.
    • Coordinate translation of grant and program related materials in line with portfolio grantmaking, (i.e., ensuring all grant and program documents are tailored according to program initiatives and compliance needs)
    • Participate (and lead as needed) in regular check-ins, strategic meetings and retreats to help coordinate the workflow of grantmaking, shape grantmaking budgets and collaboration with external stakeholders.
    • Actively contribute to fundraising stages by integrating data-driven insights and compelling narratives in proposals and evaluation reports.

Database and Systems Administration

• Contribute to the management of the Fund’s grants management system.
  • Maintain accurate grant and grantee records – updating grant, organization and contact records daily, updating budget trackers periodically and ensuring OFAC compliance.
  • Generate reports and dashboards for colleagues across departments, as needed.
  • Code all grantmaking requests and budgeting information.
• Enhance the grants management system functionalities, including coding and back-end development for improved user experience and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with Grantmaking Operations colleagues to test new releases to grantmaking database, identifying improvements and addressing bugs.
  • Contribute to the design and creation of the EOI and proposal forms in the grants management system.
  • Facilitate the successful launch of newly implemented workflows and forms within the grants management system by identifying and assisting in the resolution of issues, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience.
  • Support the design and implementation of grantee portals to facilitate efficient interactions and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Grants Management colleagues to test new releases to grantmaking database, identifying improvements and addressing bugs.

Project Coordination

• Lead on GM internal projects; brainstorming and implementing workflow solutions to team endeavors, ensuring cohesive and aligned project reporting and closing.
• Provide support to the Manager of Grantmaking Systems & Projects
  • Support engagement with all project stakeholders, gathering and integrating feedback to improve project management processes.
  • Proactively identify risks associated with projects; recommending effective solutions to ensure successful implementation.
  • Inform the scheduling and coordination of project activities, including meetings and deadlines, in coordination with Legal Empowerment Fund team.
  • Document project outcomes and adaptations; ensuring learning is embedded in LEF grantmaking operations.

Your Team:

This position is part of the Fund’s Grantmaking Operations Team. The team is comprised of one Director, two Managers and four Specialists spread between the US and UK offices. This position will report to the Manager of Systems & Projects and will be based in the UK or US.

You Have - Candidates should demonstrate the following range of skills, experience, and qualities:

• Three years of relevant work experience, e.g., managing workflows, projects, and processes + at least one year of complementary education or experience working in human rights, program, or fundraising
• Demonstrated experience navigating legal and financial frameworks in the UK/US and working knowledge of international grantmaking funding trends and nuances.

Programme

The Support and Advice on Sexual Heath (SASH) programme is a partnership between Turning Point, METRO Charity, London Friend and Naz. We run sexual health support for communities across Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea & Westminster boroughs.

We provide free, non-judgemental and confidential support to residents of Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster areas, with a focus on sexual health, relationships, mental health and wellbeing.

SASH provides a wide range of services, including counselling, life coaching, one-to-one peer mentoring and peer support groups for people seeking support in relation to reproductive health, chemsex recovery, living with HIV and support around sexual orientation and gender identity.

Role

This role will predominantly focus on health inequalities regarding sexual health, mental health and drug and alcohol misuse. The worker will predominantly work with men, but also LGBTQ+ communities, Black and Asian heritage communities, migrant communities, people living with HIV and sex workers.

This role will involve training peer mentors, as well as coordinating the mentoring and group work programme.
