The programme Manager (maternity cover) will play an important role in supporting the implementation of Good Neighbours UK (GNUK)’s strategy and ensuring that projects led by GNUK and implemented by field countries are managed effectively and efficiently. They will also play in important role in designing new projects.
Excellent writing and verbal communications skills are critical for this role. Key to its success is the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with funders, partner organisations and other Good Neighbors alliance members.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Project management
• Support GNUK’s fundraising team to prepare funding proposals for UK and overseas projects.
o Undertake field/needs assessments for projects.

Key Responsibilities

Summary of the role:
The Global Programmes Assistant reports directly to the Global Programmes Manager and will primarily be responsible for providing support functions to the International Programmes team. We are looking for an exceptional Finance & Operations Director, for an interim one-year period, to help us ensure that all aspects of the charity and the Centre run smoothly and efficiently, and to provide effective financial management.
We are based at our beautiful Grade 2 listed building in Southwark. Our Centre houses an amazing collection of 25,000 children’s books as well as being a training and event centre for teachers, publishers and everyone else who works with children’s literature and cares about children’s literacy. The Philanthropy Account Manager sits within the Philanthropy Team and will work with supporters who are giving at the five and six-figure level. They can be individuals, couples or small family trusts and often support many different areas of our work, both financially and non-financially. As a team we are a friendly, innovative, creative, collaborative team and, whilst we have an ambitious income target this year, we are bold in our ambitions for growth. We are always up for trying new things, taking a few risks and learning from when things fail. Our ultimate goal is to enable our donors’ support to be as impactful as possible, and inspire their loyalty and commitment to our mission to end homelessness.
The Philanthropy Manager role is varied, and alongside managing a portfolio of warm donors and prospects and securing five and six-figure gifts, there will be opportunities to lead on fundraising campaigns, events and other key projects. Other parts of the role include actively seeking new business working with our prospect researcher, building relationships to support and facilitate peer-to-peer giving, and finding new and creative ways to engage both new and existing donors in Crisis’ work. Creating compelling proposals, cases for support, reports and other bespoke communications will also be required. The successful candidate will manage, coach, and inspire the Philanthropy Administrator, and support them with their workload.
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
- A proven track record of building strong relationships with prospects and donors and securing gifts at the four to five-figure level.
- Experience of engaging and influencing high-value and high-profile individuals; understanding their motivations and inspiring confidence.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (including listening skills).
- Excellent influencing skills to develop internal and external relationships.
- An entrepreneurial and creative approach, with the ability to spot opportunities to bring supporters closer to Crisis’ work.
- Ability to manage projects, events and fundraising campaigns.
- Is passionate about social injustice, believes in an equitable society and is excited to support us in our mission of ending homelessness

Job Purpose and Dimensions
- The post-holder will be responsible for delivering a 10 week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with severe mental health illnesses (SMI) which can include: Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Severe Clinical Depression.
- The post-holder will be responsible for attending initial and final assessment meetings either side of the 10 week programme for each client assigned to them as part of the Active Wellbeing programme.
- Ensures that the service is provided to the standards required by the organisation, Government Legislation and governing body rulings.
- Deliver a one hour exercise session each week over a duration of 10 sessions per assigned programme client.
- Actively involved in programme assessments either side of the 10 session programme.
- Deliver an individualised physical activity programme to each client assigned
