We are looking for 3 experienced creative professionals who will enjoy planning, updating and delivering the content for our website, as well as other digital and print materials. We are looking for 3 skilled professional who can write compelling and persuasive content, who will help ensure a consistent tone across all our digital and printed communications to promote awareness and engagement.

We deal with a wide range of people and professions, which means that it can be difficult to consistently communicate with everyone effectively. Therefore, a communication and marketing volunteer will help to market our projects, services and the condition more widely than we are currently able to do. This includes creating and helping to distribute marketing materials, creating content for the Burning Nights CRPS Support website and helping us create and develop a communications and marketing strategy.

Key Tasks and Objectives

• Copywriting: Create well-written and compelling copy for use in leaflets, packs, one-page/fact sheets, fundraising/promotional materials, membership packs and on our website
• Case study writing and storytelling: Help communicate our impact via stories and case studies that we can use on our website, in marketing materials, or for our fundraising materials
• Web copywriting: Create and update engaging content for our website that adheres to our brand

· Email/E-Newsletter content: Write compelling email content for our various e-newsletters that is relevant and has clear call-to-actions. This will be in conjunction with our email marketing volunteers

· Communication materials review: Review our existing communications materials. Recommend edits that will provide us with consistency in writing style and tone, accurate spelling and grammar, and a clear and engaging voice for our organisation. Evaluate the way we communicate with volunteers, members of the public and helping us to develop better ways of doing this

· Social media snippets - create information and case study snippets for the various social media platforms

· Press Releases and any content that could be used in different channel

· Brochure/annual review writing: Create or update copy for a brochure or our annual review, highlighting our impact current and potential stakeholders

About The Role

As a Craft Champion, you will be the main point of contact with families to assist them inundertaking seasonal crafts. You will ensure the family has all the items they need to safelyundertake each activity providing assistance if required. You will have the support of theLearning team to undertake these sessions and we have plenty of craft materials for you towork with.

Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need. 

About You

To carry out this role effectively, you will need:

• An interest in arts and crafts and those relating to children specifically.
• A working knowledge of artistic mediums.
• Experience of arts and crafts with small and large groups and families.
• Experience of working with a variety of age groups including children and adults.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Planning fundraising events and activities like cake sales, quiz nights and barn dances in Mid-Sussex RH15, RH16, RH17, BN6, BN45.
• Providing the treasurer with information on funds raised from fundraising events
• Encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 
• Following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

A bit more information about this role and the team

• This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.
• There may be opportunities for your activities to be fully remote and/or admin based if you'd prefer.
• You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
• We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.

Shannon Trust Volunteer Network - Volunteer Hub Administrator

Volunteers are essential to Shannon Trust and bring their energy, ideas and skills to train mentors in prisons, support learners in the community and enhance our business support team. 

The role

Our volunteers nurture the growth of the Shannon Trust. We are looking for a volunteer to provide remote administrational support to our volunteers and staff in using our volunteer management system, Assemble.

Training

Shannon Trust provides a wide range of training for volunteers. You will be expected to attend some mandatory training for new volunteers via our online learning platform. You will also be provided with some 1 to 1 training specific to the role. The training will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of the values and visions of the charity and practical support for your role. You will also be required to attend quarterly reviews with the relevant Volunteer Network Lead to support you on an ongoing basis.

Activities can include things like: playing football in the park, trampolining, cinema, food, swimming, climbing, play centres, beach, cycling, board game cafes, escape rooms, circus, shows, concerts, go karting etc.

We reimburse reasonable expenses, including travel, for you and your young person up to around £40 a month.

Preferred experience:
- Driving and use of a car due to sometimes rural locations. (We are unlikely to be able to find you a suitable match if you do not drive.)
- Ability to communicate in English.

Event Lead volunteers work alongside our Active Events team staff members to plan and deliver the One Walk Cymru event. Event Lead volunteers use their unique skills and local knowledge to deliver a successful event, ensuring we raise as much awareness about living with type 1 diabetes, and money for life-changing research, as possible. 

What will I be doing? 

• Working with the Active Events Manager and other volunteers to plan and deliver the One Walk Cymru Event. 
• Join a bi-weekly team meeting with the Active Events Manager to track the progress of the event and address any issues. 
• Follow Breakthrough T1D event management processes, supporting the writing of event documents and ensuring that the event complies with local regulations, safety standards, and Breakthrough T1D’s guidelines. 
• Liaising with suppliers to order event equipment, resources and book entertainment for the event. Coordinate the delivery of equipment and materials on the day. 
• Managing a small budget provided by Breakthrough T1D, tracking all expenses related to event resources, entertainment, and supplies.
• Work with the Active Events Manager to implement a local marketing strategy using the provided resources, such as flyers, posters, and social media templates. 
• Using your own local network to plan and promote the event, including recruiting participants, suppliers and volunteers. 
• On the day lead a small team of volunteers to successfully deliver a One Walk event. Oversee event operations and be the main point of contact for all event-related activities. 

• What skills or experience do I need? 

• Event planning experience and/or good organisational skills. 
• Working with others or leading a small team. 
• Financial management or confidence in handling a small budget. 
• Good local knowledge to engage with local communities and use networks to promote event and recruit participants, suppliers, and volunteers.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers, working alongside our staff team, and supporting a small group of volunteers. 
• Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues as they arise, particularly on event day. 
• Passion for the cause and commitment to delivering a successful event that supports Breakthrough T1D’s mission. 

When do you need me? 

One Walk Cymru is scheduled to take place Sunday 1st June at Parc Gwledig Cosmeston. Planning for your event will start asap.

We ask that you volunteer 3-4 hours a week for event planning. This may need to increase closer to the event. You must be available from 7am-4pm on the proposed event day as the Event Lead.

Where will I be based? 

You’ll be planning an event local to where you live, and you can work from home/remotely.

You will be required to visit the One Walk event site as well as walk the route at least twice before the event day. 

What training and support will I receive? 

When you sign up to become a volunteer, we’ll send you a copy of our Volunteer Handbook and any relevant policies you’ll need to know about.

You will receive role specific training through Breakthrough T1D’s Learning Hub which will include, Type 1 Awareness Training, Health & Safety Training, safeguarding and cash handling. 

Bi-weekly team meeting with the Active Events Manager to track the progress of the event and seek support.

You’ll have the name and contact details of a staff member who’ll support you in this role and answer any questions you have.

Background

Founded in 2003 and originally named Andrea's Gift and later Brain Tumour Research and Support Across Yorkshire (BTRS), Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity (YBTC) is Yorkshire and Humber’s leading brain tumour charity.  Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child brain tumour patients, together with their families.

We fund brain tumour research in Yorkshire; we hope this research, dedicated to identifying new approaches to the discovery and treatment of brain tumours, will improve outcomes for patients. 

At YBTC we are a small team growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain tumour in Yorkshire. Around 15 new cases of primary brain tumours are diagnosed in the region every week.
