Job description
Main purpose of role
We are looking for a professional with at least 5 years’ experience in membership management, stakeholder engagement and events to lead our outreach and engagement activities for the Parkinson’s community across Europe.
Key tasks
- Strategic membership activities including:
- Management of the Parkinson’s Europe Membership Steering Group
- Leading Parkinson’s Europe membership recruitment and diversification
- Reviewing and expanding Parkinson’s Europe membership benefits
- Leading the development, delivery and analysis of the biannual Parkinson’s Europe members survey
- Supporting the Parkinson’s Europe Member Liaison Lead with membership communications
- Outreach and engagement activities including:
- Partnership support activities with relevant NGOs and institutions – for example, European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA), The European Patients’ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI), and the European Patients’ Forum (EPF)
- Engagement with other associations related to Parkinson’s that do not currently fit in our formal membership
- Supporting the second phase development of Parkinson’s Europe’s newly launched Engagement Network
- Development of a new knowledge building programme for Parkinson’s Europe Member Organisations (which is a key feature of our new strategy for 2025 and beyond). This will involve:
- Identification of members’ needs and priorities
- Planning and delivering a structured programme of webinars, workshops and resources to support the identified needs and priorities. This will include:
- Identifying and building relationships with speakers and facilitators with the help of the Parkinson’s Europe team
- Identifying existing resources to help deliver the programme
- Leading the development of new resources and tools for members
- Event management
- Lead the development and delivery of a biannual Parkinson’s European Forum
- Plan and lead the twice-yearly members meeting
- Support the Director General and Board Secretary at the AGM as required
- Supervision of the Member Liaison Lead
Person specification
- Interest in the issues that impact people affected by Parkinson’s

Lead a small team raising the resources and engaging with audiences to support the delivery of wide ranging services helping refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to settle and thrive locally. You will deliver income and support by managing your own small team and collaborating with the rest of the organisation to tell stories, share information, build understanding and deliver the income needed to run the organisation. We pride ourselves on quick and dynamic responses to new arrivals and changing needs and want a manger who will relish their part in this.
With a current turnover of £1.5-£2 million, from a good mix of trusts, foundations, individuals, contracts, partnerships, community, there is a constant need to manage amd renew relationships. There is also potential to develop new or underdeveloped areas of collaboration and income.
The manager will have proven all round experience and a track record of delivering income from multiple and varied sources. They will need to work from the Oxford office at least two days a week to build relations with other teams. Beyond that location and working hours are flexible.

The Fundraising Lead will play a critical role in supporting our ‘sustainability' strategic priority to ensure Cycle Sisters can access the resources it needs to keep making a difference. Each year we offer information and support to almost 800,000 people and 153,000 received tailored support from our dedicated, skilled support workers and volunteers, Independent Domestic Abuse advisors and Independent Sexual Violence advisors. We are a truly independent organisation that delivers our services both through local teams embedded in the communities in which they live and work, as well as nationally through services such as the National Homicide Service, our 24/7 Support line, our live chat service and our on-line self-help platform, My Support Space.

In order to achieve our vision we need a highly capable Director of Finance to build and improve on our high-performing finance function and to drive forward operational excellence.
Reporting directly into the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our financial strategy, long-term financial planning, and developing commercial strategies to maximise income and operating contribution. You will also have responsibility of cash management, risk management and governance. You will be the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) for the organisation and will lead on Property and Procurement.
This is a varied and exciting role which will provide you with the opportunity of leading a well-established team of professionals, reporting on the financial performance of the organisation together with providing analysis, advice and support to facilitate decision making to deliver sound financial management.
You will be a qualified accountant, and will need to demonstrate:
· Proven experience in a leadership role;
· Experience at Board level and ability to work in collaboration with Trustees and colleagues;
· Understanding and experience of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls
You will be a confident, energetic and engaging individual with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of sustainable growth and excellent service delivery. You will have excellent communication skills and confidence to operate at the highest levels. A commitment to Victim Support’s purpose, vision, values and ethos is essential.
