About the Role

Coordinators are crucial members of the delivery team, responsible for an exciting programme of activities for their given area. You will be responsible for an exciting offer for young people aged 8 to 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs), at the Youth Zone.

The Female Engagement Coordinator will lead on the Just for Girls session on Sunday afternoons, designing an engaging programme of activities alongside staff and young people. You will also work to engage girls and young women in the other sessions offered by the Youth Zone, ensuring the sessions are relevant and fun. You will provide some line management support and development for sessional workers in these areas.

This role requires a minimum of 55% of time spent face-to-face working with young people.

UCLH Charity is the main charity associated with University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The charity works to improve patient and staff welfare by providing funding for research, medical equipment and education facilities for the Trust, and is currently carrying out a major property redevelopment. The charity team also administers a subsidiary company and several other small charities.

UCLH Charity is now seeking a part-time Finance Assistant who can join the finance team which currently consists of six people. Reporting into the Head of Finance and to the Senior Property Manager this role is likely to appeal to someone who has worked with a smaller organisation with experience across a range of accounts and administrative processes.

The key responsibilities will be:

• The charity operates 800 discretionary funds on behalf of individual wards and doctors. Transactions relating to these funds make up most of the day-to-day work for the finance team and this role will play a key part in assisting with this.

About the role

As a Web Optimisation Manager, you will lead efforts to enhance Christian Aid's digital presence by analysing web traffic, user behaviour, and driving data-informed improvements. A key part of your role will involve running A/B tests to identify opportunities for optimisation and improve conversion rates across our digital platforms. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll develop and implement effective SEO strategies, refine user journeys, and deliver exceptional user experiences. Key outcomes

About you

We're seeking a results-driven digital expert with a strong background in web optimisation, including strong experience with A/B testing and multivariate testing to enhance user experiences and conversion rates. You are highly skilled in SEO strategy, UX, and analytics tools like GA4, SEMrush, and Hotjar. Your leadership and collaboration skills enable you to guide teams, work with multiple stakeholders, and translate data into actionable improvements. Proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal) and a solid grasp of HTML and CSS are essential. We are looking for someone to take responsibility for the physical, emotional and safety needs of children and young people making sure they are protected, safeguarded and their best interests promoted at all times. You will following our in-house psychologically informed therapeutic model to care for the children and young people who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or other adverse childhood experiences.

We are looking for someone highly resilient and confident to support the children and young people through times of crisis and dysregulation, ensuring the safety of the child or young person is of paramount importance at all times.

You will successfully obtain and retain registration with Ofsted and comply with terms of registration to achieve and maintain an Ofsted rating of good or outstanding for the home.

The Role

• Ensure that the home(s) is managed in a way which complies to the Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and creates a positive physical and emotional environment where children and young people can discover who they are and who they can become.
• Create, audit and maintain clear and accurate Care Plans and Risk Assessments for each individual child within your care and any other associated documentation within the home.
• Working in conjunction with the Clinical team to ensure Clinical Safety Plans are maintained and adhered to at all times.
• Provide children with a high standard of personalised care; ensuring that children are included as fully as possible in decisions affecting their care.
• Lead the staff team to create a culture of warmth, nurture and care within the home environment.
• Maintain high levels of professional boundaries and confidentiality to protect the children and young people within the service.
• Liaise with the Facilities Team to ensure the upkeep of the homes and grounds including the fabric of the buildings, fixtures and fittings and the condition of the gardens are maintained to a high standard.
• Plan and ensure regular supervisions, team meetings, annual appraisals and de-briefs are carried out for your team.
• Act with compassion and understanding, motivating and rewarding your team when appropriate.
• Willingness to become a train-the-trainer for specific courses and deliver training across your service and wider YMCA, where appropriate.
• Schedule the required staffing levels to ensure you have the optimum staff team on shift with a complementary mix of skills and expertise.
• Minimise the use of agency staff; optimising permanent staff availability and shift patterns to provide familiar and consistent care to the children and young people.
• Responsible for the support of safeguarding all of children in our Children’s Residential Services.
• Investigate any safeguarding concerns for the service area and to make informed, fair, and transparent decisions based on information obtained including the production of investigation reports with recommendations and outcomes

About You

As a passionate expert in children’s residential care, you will bring with you a wealth of experience in caring for children and young people who have had the most difficult starts in life. Experience dealing with trauma, challenging behaviour and working in a psychologically informed way would all be highly beneficial to your smooth transition into our role.
For this particular role, we would look for someone who has held a Registered Manager position previously as we are looking for someone who can nurture and develop a newly formed staff team.

You will need to hold a minimum of a level 4 diploma in children’s residential care and either already hold your level 5 diploma in leadership & management or be willing to undertake this with our support.

Although this role is based in Newark, we would ask that you are flexible to help support the wider Children in Care service to support other homes where required which could include some regional travel. Having your own car and driving licence would be highly beneficial although not essential

About the role

In 2016 we set up a Research, Evidence and Learning (REL) hub which sits in the Programme Policy, Research and Learning team (PPRL), one of three teams that make up Christian Aid's Policy, Public Affairs and Campaign Department. PPRL exists to generate and provide thought leadership to the organisation; offer research and sector-based expertise to support practice across our global programmes, and to enhance the links between national programme delivery and learning; and global policy analysis and understanding.

The REL teams remit is to shift power in research by:

-Enabling and strengthening the generation and use of research, evidence and learning in Christian Aid that is informed and led by those living in poverty.

-Promoting what we call 'knowledge justice' (epistemic justice) and centralising the voice of the communities CA is working with in our programmes, policies and practices, and the development sector more widely, to bring about social, systemic and individual transformation for people living in poverty.

This role is about bringing Christian Aid's evidence and learning to life through the way it is used and applied in different contexts. Given the current short-term nature of the role, the successful applicant will: 1. Work with the REL team to package a series on diverse research methods aimed at shifting power in research.2. Produce a Train-the-Trainer module to support the delivery of the diverse research methods programme of work3. Identify and write up case studies of research impact4. Facilitate learning events, as required.5. Play a critical role integrating research, evidence and learning into the new MCC model.

Alongside key projects REL advisers also play a role in responding to diverse technical support requests from colleagues across Christian Aid. This could include advice on research design; partnership development and brokering with universities; critical engagement with a research funding proposal; and feedback on the quality of evidence generated through a review process. All REL team members are committed to reflective practice and are encouraged to capture reflections from experience of strengthening research and evidence processes within Christian Aid, for sharing with internal and external audiences; contributing to wider learning on research partnerships; and promoting good practice in applied research both within Christian Aid and the broader sector.

About you

You will have excellent understanding of learning design including knowledge of online pedagogy. You will have had direct experience in developing blended and online research methods training and ability to manage and deliver digital learning. You will be familiar with applied research at every stage of the research cycle - from identifying relevant research questions, designing appropriate methodologies, to developing strategies for real-world impact - as well as the role of research and evaluation in relation to the programme management cycle. You will enjoy finding creative and innovate ways to bring learning to life and be aligned with REL's commitment to shift power in research. Ideally, you will have interested in AI and how it can be used in developing research practice.

You will enjoy working in a practice setting, strengthening the capacity of others to produce high quality evidence and develop and deliver research. You will be confident in managing your own projects while also offering advice and accompaniment to others in their research and learning activities. You will be comfortable engaging with academics and development/ humanitarian practitioners, and you will have had experience of working with colleagues across the globe.

Equally important will be your interpersonal skills, your ability to build strong relationships and work across different departments, and help colleagues to reflect and learn, make sharper decisions and achieve better results.
