Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Support Volunteer for the Warrington and District Group. As our local group Support Volunteer you’ll help people affected by MS find information about local and national services. That could be helping someone access local information about the care or benefits they need or giving them a hand with a grant application. See a video about one of our Support Volunteers here.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your listening and communication skills, as well as your knowledge of local services. Most importantly you’ll help people affected by MS to access the help they need.

Time commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

Social Anxiety Alliance UK is a young and developing charity looking for an experienced Treasurer with a background in financial management and accounting to continue the charity's development.

Social anxiety involves an excessive fear of social situations. Sufferers will often fear being embarrassed or worry about being negatively evaluated by others. Concern Pain Concern is a charity providing information and support to people with pain and those who care for them, whether family, friends or healthcare professionals. All pain is unpleasant, but for the 7.8 million people in the UK living with long-term pain it is a part of everyday life. Role purpose

The treasurer acts as a trustee of the charity, with additional responsibilities for overseeing the charities funds. Day to day bookkeeping is carried out in the office by the charity’s accounts clerks, using a Sage accounting package. Please note that for safeguarding purposes, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a PVG check. The cost of which will be covered by Pain Concern. This role reports into the Board of Trustees and works closely with the Charity’s Chair.

• To monitor the financial administration of the charity and report to the board of trustees at regular (monthly) intervals.

· Regularly reviewing the reserves policy considering the latest Charity Commission guidance, seek approval from trustees for any amendments

· Providing advice to trustees on investments when the level of reserves exceeds 12 months of expenditure considering latest Charity Commission guidance

· Being a signatory for cheque payments, reimbursing invoices, paying monthly staff salaries and expenses

·  Preparing financial reports and appoint auditors annually to independently audit and inspect the accounts

· Ensuring that the final accounts are produced in accordance with the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) and that funds are correctly identified. The chair's annual report must be in accordance with SORP

· Working with the charity’s secretary ensure that the approved annual and audited accounts are presented to Companies House on time

· Summarising a set of accounts to be presented at the AGM. 

·  Leading the annual review of finance policies and procedures advising trustees of any changes

Terms of appointment:

The initial term is for a period of 3 years. One third of the Trustees must retire every two years. Subject to remaining eligible to be a Trustee, a retiring Trustee may be re-appointed. The maximum term of office for a Trustee should be 9 years, with 2 cycles of 3 years with the option of a further 1, 2 or 3 years. The Trustees meet 4 times each year as a Board. 3 of these meetings are now held online in September, November and March. The final meeting of the academic year is held in-person in June. In addition, meetings are held, as required, between the Chair, Finance Trustee and CEO to monitor and adapt the organisation’s response to schools’ priorities.

Created by a team of passionate dog lovers from the animal welfare group IAPWA, the I Love Hiking & Dogs UK Facebook community is a space to explore new walking routes, connect with like-minded dog owners, and take part in dog-friendly hiking meet-ups across the UK.

While our group is designed for dog lovers, you don’t need to own a dog to get involved, everyone is welcome to join our community, share experiences, and participate in discussions and events.

We are now looking for dedicated and proactive Facebook Group Admins to help manage and grow our community.

Skaped is an East-London community-led Artivist organisation that encourages young people to engage with community building and social change through the creative arts. As an organisation, we run relatable creative workshops, educational programmes and art projects for 11-30-year-olds mainly from marginalised communities. Our programmes have sparked conversations surrounding societal change, decolonisation, gender equality, gentrification, migration, anti-discrimination, and the like.

Job Responsibilities

• A trustee must comply with he charity's governing document and the law
• Support the development and provide support for the CEO and Team in the running of SKAPED
• Review and approve the organisation's annual and financial report
• Keep accurate records and provide periodic accounting to the beneficiaries
• Champion Skaped’s vision, mission, and values, driving the organization forward.
• Contribute ideas and help implement new systems, policies, and processes
• Advocate for creativity, inclusivity, and community-driven change.

• An understanding of working with a founder who is still involved in the organisation's delivery.

• Who possesses a good understanding of working with young people, especially in deprived areas

ARTHOUSE Unlimited is seeking a dedicated Finance Trustee to join our small but passionate team of five and help make a meaningful difference to the lives of our beneficiaries. 

The charity, based in Godalming in Surrey, runs supported art sessions six days a week (morning and afternoon). The current program serves 50 beneficiaries, who create artwork used on a variety of products sold to over 600 business to business clients, including multiple gift outlets. In addition to selling designs and individual finished artwork, we also supply and dispatch company gifting, sell directly to customers through our retail website and work with established brands such as LUSH, Heals, Urban Outfitters, Waterstones. We are looking to increase our board of Trustees with an individual who has financial expertise to guide us through the next stage of our growth and development.

The Trustees meet approximately 10 times a year, either in person in Godalming or online. We are a hands-on team, and all Trustees actively support the organisation, working closely with our small professional team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend Trustee meetings (10 times a year) to provide strategic advice and support.
• Use your financial experience to assist with budgeting, financial planning, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
• Work collaboratively with other Trustees and the professional team to support the growth and development of our services and programs.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Strong financial background, ideally with experience in budgeting, financial planning, or financial oversight.
• Passion for making a positive difference to the lives of individuals with neurodiverse conditions.
• Ability to offer strategic input and work closely with a small team.

Purpose of the Role:
The Treasurer plays a key leadership role in ensuring SAPHNA’s financial integrity and sustainability. In addition to the responsibilities of a General Trustee, the Treasurer provides strategic guidance and oversight on SAPHNA’s financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee SAPHNA’s financial management, ensuring robust processes and controls are in place.
• Advise the Board on financial strategy, risk management, and resource allocation.
• Work closely with SAPHNA’s management team to monitor budgets, cash flow, and financial performance.
• Ensure the preparation of annual accounts in accordance with charity regulations.
• Present financial reports to the Board in a clear and accessible format.
• Support the development of financial policies and procedures.
• Ensure SAPHNA’s funds are invested appropriately, achieving both security and growth.
• Oversee financial compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

Person Specification:

• Proven financial expertise, ideally with experience in financial management, accountancy, or charity finance.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
• Commitment to SAPHNA’s mission, vision, and values.
• Experience in governance, leadership, or financial oversight.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other Trustees and SAPHNA’s management team.

Time Commitment:
Trustees are required to attend quarterly Board meetings, participation in working groups or committees, and occasional representation of SAPHNA at events. The Treasurer role may require additional time to review financial matters and liaise with staff.

As a Trustee you will play a vital role in helping Young Lives vs Cancer to thrive so that families do not face cancer alone.

Are you?

• A finance professional with broad experience across multiple areas of a business in a senior leadership role.
• Over the age of 18
• Willing to devote the time and energy needed (approximately 12-14 days per year to include meeting preparation time/reading papers)

• Listen to and promote the voice of children, young people and their families in particular, via our Voice Board - our group of young people with cancer and parents which ensures that lived experience is at the heart of our governance. Ensure their voice informs the governance of Young Lives vs Cancer
• Act as an ambassador for Young Lives vs Cancer and the children, young people and families we support
• Listen to the views of staff and volunteers and of supporters and contribute to an environment where staff and volunteers can, and want to, fight tirelessly for children and young people with cancer.
• Say what you think, especially when you disagree – showing sound, independent judgement – and encourage others to do the same
• See the big picture and think strategically
• Work as part of a team
• Commit to a 3-year term; initially shadowing our existing Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee for a one year period with a view to then being appointed Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee in year two.
