The family finding post holder will be located in Hillingdon, as part of the wider RAA partnership located across London and surrounding areas. The hub services for the RAA include the recruitment, assessment and support of Coram approved adopters, which are located at the Coram Campus in London.
The post holder will be employed by Coram, a service with a long track record of serving children well and outstanding ratings from Ofsted. The task for the Regional Adoption Agency is to ensure that all children who have a plan for adoption are given every chance to have that ambition realised and when placed in a permanent family receive the relevant support as their needs change and develop.
About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Family Finding Social Worker or Senior Practitioner wishing to play an active role in the delivery and development of a high-quality family finding service for the London Borough of Hillingdon, for children with a plan for adoption.
The post holder will be one of two professionals responsible for family finding for children with a care plan of adoption within the local area.
The post holder will be part of a small and very supportive team to develop practise and skills in this area. The post holder will also be able to have access resources and services within Hillingdon to support this role and be part of a bigger network of support from colleagues from across the RAA. This role will function as 6 month fixed contract with the possibility of an extension to offer continuity to the children we are family finding for.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Youth Engagement worker, to join our Somewhere For Us Service team. The role of the service is to ensure that children and young people feel supported on their grief journey. The service is co-designed with our Youth Advisory Group. The support is provided through a range of group and 1-1 supports, including Understanding Your Child’s Bereavement online sessions for parents, group support and activities for children and young people and 1-1 support, grief ally/buddy etc.
Workshops are delivered in the community to individuals and groups who work with children and young people, to help increase their skills and knowledge on how to effectively support children and young people going through a bereavement.
The Somewhere For Us Service supports bereaved children and young people aged 8 – 25. It is funded to June 2027, through the National Lottery Community Fund Empowering Young People funding stream.
There are 2 posts, each for 32 hours per week, one based in our Foyle office and one in Belfast office. You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of bereavement support to children, young people, families and communities across the Western and Northern Trust Areas (Foyle), Belfast, Southern and South Eastern Trust Areas (Belfast) and wider NI, if required. Ability to travel independently across NI to fulfil the role is essential.

Job Aim:To lead a fun, engaging and exciting programme of activities for young people across the economically disadvantaged but beautifully diverse E6 area within the London Borough of Newham. You will lead the delivery of BDCA’s Youth project, in line with our commissioning contract with Newham Council’s Youth Empowerment Service. Our project provides the following youth activities in East Ham over 49 weeks of the year for young people aged 9-19:
- Three outdoor Multi Use Games Area sports sessions per week in BDCA’s sports field.
- Three indoor youth hub sessions per week in BDCA’s sports pavilion, which includes workshops such as Junior Gym, screen acting, Muay Thai, healthy cookery sessions, calming crafts and sports.
- Weekly EKO Pathways after school youth club session specifically supporting children who have been excluded from mainstream education due to social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.
- Two outdoor parks MUGA session.
- Weekly Youth Theatre Club, led by a local acting workshop facilitator.
- Three-week summer holiday scheme for up to 120 children per day.
- Annual ‘Stepping Up’ youth leadership programme offering training/ mentoring/ paid work experience / accredited Sports Leaders Awards for up to 30 young people each summer.
- Several offsite trips and residentials throughout the year - as often as match funding allows.

Bank Support Workers have the ability to accept any shifts available on an ad-hoc basis across from all of Look Ahead's specialisms including Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Homelessness and Young People. Bank Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices. Within Learning Disability services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. Within Mental Health and Homelessness services they will enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package. While carrying out activities, Bank Support Workers should deal with all customers, visitors and staff in a professional and appropriate manner and report to Look Ahead staff and management any observations relating to customers' welfare.

Liverpool Transition, Preparation and Moving-On Service – Children's Residential Home
Barnardo's Transition, Preparation and Moving-On Service is looking for a residential worker for its 4 bed Children's home.
This is a service commissioned by Liverpool City Council to deliver Children's residential support in line with statutory requirements utilising therapeutic approaches. The service consists of one 4 bed Children's home.
The service aims to provide a nurturing environment within our high-quality home, which will meet the needs of children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, rejection, and whose basic needs have not been met.
The home offers our young people a safe space to enjoy themselves with activities such as karaoke, pamper, movie and games nights. Our young people are also encouraged to enjoy activities such as horse riding, going the cinema, indoor adventure parks, museums, theatre shows, youth clubs, fairs/theme parks i.e. Alton Towers, Blackpool and Southport.
We always ensure that our young people have the opportunity to enjoy at least one holiday/short break.
We support our young people to learn skills such as cooking meals and baking.
In line with Barnardo's EDI awareness and ethos, we take part in cultural theme nights once a month.
On top of that, Saturday is takeaway night, so you even get a night off from cooking!
As a Transition home, our role is to support the young people in our care to either return back to their own families, move onto foster care, or move into semi-independence. The support we provide is vital in supporting our young people in their next chapter. You would play a huge part in this exciting role in changing the lives of our young people.
The home provides a truly therapeutically focussed environment that can meet the needs of young people who require support to manage their behaviours safely, develop their resilience and prepare them for the demands of future life with their own families or in other settings.
As a Residential Worker you will support the young people on a rota basis, covering the following:
- 3 on 4 off pattern across the year, with rotas completed at least one month in advance.
- Sleep ins - approximately 2 per month with an additional payment of approximately £68/sleep,
- Waking nights (approximately 2 per month)
- Opportunities to complete additional hours at an enhanced rate of pay.
- Some weekend working, on a rota basis
- Some bank holiday working – enhanced rates of pay for bank holiday working.
Designated days off are given following sleep ins and waking nights to promote wellbeing and recovery.
Your role as a Residential Worker:
You will engage with and support young people in all aspects of their lives, attending to their practical, physical, and emotional needs, whilst safeguarding each young person at all times.
You will support the rest of the team around the young people, acting in the capacity of a corporate parent. You will support young people to enhance their social opportunities by accessing hobbies & activities in the home and in the community. This could include supporting young people to access meals out/cinema/theatre/activity clubs etc and engage with fun nights in e.g. Movie/pamper/ games nights etc.

Join the team at Castle Service in Cambridge, a dispersed supported housing provider supporting 14 young people aged 16 ‐25 years old who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The service operates on a hybrid working model which can include home working, remote working within the community or working from our office base. You will have the autonomy to manage your case load and working arrangements where they support the operational objectives of the Service.
In this varied and challenging role, you will work with young people to set goals to develop their confidence and internal resources and help them to move on from temporary services to permanent accommodation at the earliest opportunity. Another key aspect of this role is accommodation management which will see you support the service users to ensure the accommodation is Health and Safety compliant, well kept, clean and tidy.
You have experience of engaging or working with young people as well as the ability to work autonomously. You will be independent with a positive, can‐do attitude and keen to break down the stigma of homelessness and mental health.
Access to a car would be desirable due to the need to travel between the four supported houses.

About the role:
The Floating Support Worker will specialise in working with women for whom housing and risk of tenancy breakdown is a priority. You will provide specialist housing and domestic abuse support to women aged 18 and over. The accommodation needs of the women you support will require you to advocate and support for each woman efficiently and empathically, whilst liaising with providers and stakeholders to ensure her accommodation needs are met. The role is dynamic and requires the post holder to respond to women with effective crisis intervention, advocacy and support. They will be required to coordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with clients to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness. The post holder will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.
About You:
To be successful as the Housing Floating Support Worker, you will need the below experience and skills:
Solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms, come from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job
A good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities
Skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning
Experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have
An understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children
A good knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation
Other skills and experience:
Good data collection, monitoring and IT skills
A relevant qualification or training, for example in domestic abuse, criminal justice, law, social work, substance misuse or related area
Flexibility to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

What you'll do:
* If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate
* Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
* Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker
* Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premises
* Monitor the CCTV throughout the shift
* Enable customers to make full use of community facilities by providing support as directed
* Carry out support duties to enable customers to integrate into the community including e.g. accompanying the customer to attend benefit agency appointments and meetings, go shopping, to enquire at colleges about possible courses, to visit various public amenities
* Report any observations relating to customers welfare
* Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements ubject to change in accordance with the needs of Look Ahead

About the Role
Working with the support and guidance of your manager, you will be responsible for delivering our Reconnect, family support and mediation service across the London Region
You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Depaul’s services and with external agencies to reduce family breakdown. You will build and maintain a caseload of clients at risk of, or experiencing homelessness. You will work with clients in a variety of situations, including young people at school who are experiencing a breakdown in their family relationships, those who have been forced to leave their homes and are temporarily staying with our volunteer Nightstop hosts, and those who are now living in our accommodation services.
You will provide a wide range of support and guidance to these clients and their families, aiming to improve understanding and communication, reduce conflict and strengthen relationships, amongst other things. This will include a range of methods, including one-to-one and joint party mediation. Occasionally you may also provide basic guidance to young people and parents regarding their housing options.
With full support, you will be responsible for ensuring effective and safe management of the service on a day-to-day basis, including working in line with all relevant policies, procedures and best practice guidelines, as well as maintaining arcuate and up-to-date records on our database.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work directly with young people aged 11-25, and their families, who are experiencing family difficulties and at risk of homelessness, providing guidance, personalised family support and one-to-one and joint party mediation if appropriate;
- Carry a caseload of 15 – 20 clients per FTE for whom you will be the named keyworker;
- Process referrals from relevant agencies in order to build and maintain a full caseload of clients.
- Work in partnership with young people and their families to complete risk assessments, needs assessments and changes plans and outcome questionnaires to work with them towards measurable outcomes.
- Build strong working relationships with all Depaul colleagues and services across the region, as well as other relevant agencies and local authority teams, to promote the service, build effective referral routes and processes and provide holistic support to young people.
- Maintain clear, accurate and up-to-date records of all aspects of your work, in line with monitoring and evaluation processes and standard operational procedures.
- Work closely with statutory bodies and other agencies to support any relevant safeguarding procedures, advocating on behalf of young people and parents/carers when necessary.
About You
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
- Significant experience working with young people and families in crisis; reflective, creative and solution-focused in your approach and committed to working in an assets-based way.
- To hold or complete a Level 4 Interpersonal Mediation Practitioner’s Certificate (IMPC). Training will be provided if the candidate doesn’t hold the qualification, but training will have to be completed before the end of the probation period.
- Experience of working independently and managing own caseload; self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks and carry out efficient organisation and administration.
- Experience of carrying out risk and needs assessments and support planning for clients.
- Ability to develop strong, collaborative and productive relationships with colleagues and key external agencies, promoting the value of our work and its impact on families.
- High level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain impartiality
- Willingness and ability to travel independently and work from a number of different locations across the London region.

Main Responsibilities:
· To help assess the needs and strengths of the referred young adult and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change
· To deliver early support/targeted group interventions which aim to improve mental health and well-being, build on existing strengths and increase levels of resilience
· Record and collect data with various tools such as Outcome Star and Session Feedback Questionnaires to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
· To take responsibility for own caseload of young adults, some with complex and multiple needs, with support from senior EWMH staff
· To help involve project participants in the co-production of programmes, activities and services
· To be proactive in connecting with other agencies who can provide activities to support Step Forward sessions
· Attending networking events and meetings, online and in-person, to promote Step Forward
· To work collaboratively with Surrey CCGs, GPs, local CYPS and adult mental health teams and other community-based services to provide the most effective service for young adults and reach targets set by partners whilst keeping within the YMCA values of service
· To keep accurate records of individual engagement, evidence of change and celebrate progress with participants
· To record and report the appropriate data to ensure the project can be accurately monitored and evaluated
· Where appropriate, to apply safeguarding and child and vulnerable adult protection procedures
· To organise and provide written case studies as evidence of the effectiveness of individual interventions and activities
· To work as part of a team and attend team meetings, training events and participate fully in one to one, peer and group supervision
· Support summer activity programmes with partner group WAVES with supervising young people off-site
· Planning, organising and running summer activities for Step Forward participants
· To take responsibility for Youth Support Workers, volunteers and colleagues volunteering time to the project, taking charge of a staff rota and ensuring guidelines are in place and updated regularly to ensure best practice
· Outreaching to external volunteer workers and communicating closely with HR
