This is a 24 hour supported living service for people with mental health illness and complex needs and includes customers with dual diagnosis with Substance misuse and alcoholism. It comprises a high needs building and two low needs services within close proximity.
Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the particular post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community.
This Role includes the following shift pattern: Shifts of 8-4pm or 2-10pm daily over 7 days on a rota basis. No waking nights or sleep-ins.
What you'll do:
* Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere
* Carrying out holistic assessments of new customers which incorporate relevant statutory referral information
* Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
* Create support plans for providing appropriate services based on on-going assessment and reflecting the services and resources available to enable customer to progress in their recovery
* Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of 'positive risk taking
* Provide support and access to relevant services to enable customers to continue their recovery and empower customers to self-manage their medication regimes through individual re-enablement programmes and informed decision making

Key responsibilities include:

Experience in generating revenue through fundraising (grant proposals) or partnerships to support youth programs and initiatives is key, alongside excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, and a strong passion for youth empowerment and social justice. You must have a clear DBS at enhanced level and demonstrate comprehensive understanding of child protection and safeguarding policy, practice and procedures. Crucially, you must be flexible, recognising that the needs of a community of young people do not always fit into a neat 9-5 job. Experience in managing teams and budgets is crucial and knowledge of local community needs and resources would be also be beneficial.

A strong understanding of neurodiversity-informed and trauma-informed approaches is essential, as is experience in safeguarding, risk management, and multi-agency collaboration. RBKC MH Night Support Workers enable people with mental health support needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community. Our charity, the Jon Egging Trust, is looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of working with young people, to plan and deliver inspiring teamwork, leadership and employability programmes in North Wales. The role involves liaising with school staff, local partners (including the Military and local businesses) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people and is supported by the Regional Manager, North Wales.
The successful candidate will be based from home with a requirement to travel to partner schools and business sites in and around Anglesey, Bangor and occasionally along the A55 corridor. Fuel expenses are paid and travel time is included as part of working hours. Working with secondary schools to provide early support programmes, core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school terms only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed as required.

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced social worker to join our Central Support & Social Care Team. This is a fully home-based team providing tailored support to children and young people with cancer across the UK, over the phone and via digital channels. The team works alongside our social work teams in hospitals across the UK.
A key remit of the team is to provide support to our hospital-based social work teams during periods of reduced capacity or a spike in referrals. So as well as 17.5 core hours each week, this postholder will be expected to undertake additional hours as and when required. Support carried out for hospital-based teams will also be over the phone or via digital channels - you won't be expected to travel to the hospital site.

This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application an enhanced criminal record check will be completed. This role is also subject to a Social Worker Registration.
What do I need?

- Experience of delivering support to young people and families via different mediums including including over the phone and/or digital channels

Role in Context
Jigsaw4u’s Carers Peer Support Service supports carers in the London Borough of Merton through emotional support and access to information, opportunities and practical advice.

About this key role
