Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons. We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Lincoln Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme at HMP Lincoln, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison-based. About this exciting opportunity
Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison. You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.
We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales. Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.
What we are looking for
• Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
• L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent
• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
• An ability to work sensitively with clients applying trauma-informed strategies
• Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Please note this role requires Enhanced Adult DBS checks.

About us
Angus Carers Centre is a rights-based charity working with and for unpaid carers from all walks of life living across Angus. We exist to improve the quality of life for all carers by building genuine and equal relationships, connecting carers with each other to create a sense of belonging and community, providing practical and emotional supports, and influencing change at local and national level.
Established in 1996, we have grown significantly over the last 25 years, and we are now supporting nearly 2,000 unpaid adult and young carers across Angus. Our talented and passionate team of 25 staff and over 20 volunteers ensure the needs of our carers are meet. Together with our volunteers we strive to provide a first-class service to carers and their families, to make a lasting difference to their lives.
Our vision is that all unpaid carers in Angus will receive appropriate information and support to enable them to feel valued and confident in their caring situation and to develop their own potential.

Job overview
The postholder will:
· Create a safe environment for unpaid carers to build genuine relationships to participate in meaningful and engaging activities allowing them to express themselves, share their dreams and aspirations.
· Manage the development of Angus Carers Centre’s services, including identifying unmet need, monitoring, and maintaining standards in line with contractual agreements, and good practice.
· Provide leadership, management, coaching, support to the team members.
· Be responsible and accountable for the management of the team’s financial budgets in line with Angus Carers Centre’s financial and business support procedures.
· Measure the impact of our work in a creative and ethical manner ensuring lessons learnt are identified and taken forward, reporting on outcomes and progress towards strategic objectives.
· Work closely with other teams to ensure collaborative culture and synergies prevail across all areas of Angus Carers Centre’s work.
· Maintain and build relationships with a broad range of public, private and Third Sector organisations, including schools, community groups, health and care providers, and others.
· In collaboration with other teams, use the evidence of impact of our work to influence policy and practice within the local area and beyond.
· Ensure organisational and local safeguarding and health & safety policies are adhered to and effectively implemented.
· Support teams in identifying unpaid carers’ needs, circumstances, and outcomes, and support them to achieve them by working collaboratively with colleagues, partners agencies and other organisations.

About Victoria Hall Harrow
The Victoria Hall Harrow charity started in 1888, with the aim of building a high quality venue for the people of Harrow to come together and to build community. Since then our venue Victoria Hall has been rebuilt twice, most recently reopening to the public in Summer 2021. We also created a new charity some years back (a CIO), transferring the assets of the old charity over. For this reason our Charity Commission listing below is not representative of our current financial position and our assets.

About you
As a Scope Stock Transport Driver, you’ll need a full, clean driving licence with a willingness to undertake relevant training.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Programmes will be an integral part of the leadership team, alongside the Heads of Fundraising, Communications, and Operations. In this capacity, the Head of Programmes will oversee a team of experienced leaders in the field of human rights and grassroots activism, responsible for various areas such as Research, Investigations, Policy and Innovation, Advocacy and Campaigns.

The Candidate:
▪ Profound expertise in designing, implementing, and evolving international programmes with a particular focus on human rights, labour rights, climate change, economic, social and cultural rights and international justice.
▪ Extensive international experience in developing and leading tailored programmes across two or more of the following areas: Asia, Africa, North America, Europe, and the Middle East that are adapted to regional and local contexts, ensuring their success and tangible impact.
▪ Demonstrated track record of crafting impactful programmes, substantiated by measurable evidence and a commitment to prioritizing impact. Experience of grant reporting and implementation of MEL processes.
▪ Experience in managing and mentoring staff, contributing to leadership teams within a matrixed organisation, and a dedication to collaborative teamwork with both internal colleagues and external partners.
▪ Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment, adapting to rapidly changing priorities, handling multiple deadlines, and consistently delivering high-quality work products.

The Job
The welfare of our dogs is very important to us. We have a no-kennel policy, and all our dogs live in the homes of volunteer puppy Socialisers until they are about 18 months old. We are committed to providing quality training and support for all our dogs and the volunteers who look after them.
This role requires someone with the skills, experience, and passion to take responsibility for organising and monitoring the Assistance dog training team. The successful candidate will ensure that the team of Assistance Dog Trainers develop our puppies and young dogs to ensure they receive the highest standard of socialisation and training, thereby maximising their chances of becoming a Medical Alert Assistance Dog. They will also play a role in the training and development of less experienced members of the team.
Reports to: Head of Canine Supply, Training and Welfare
Specific Responsibilities
- To oversee the day-to-day activities of the Assistance Dog Trainers, carrying out 121’s, annual reviews, etc.
- To oversee the preparation of and to deliver in accordance with the dog pick-up schedule for the MAAD programme
- To support puppies or young dogs when required
- To carry out the 6-month, 12-month, and final assessments of dogs
- Assist with the training and development of Trainee Assistance Dog Trainers and less experienced Trainers which may include acting as a mentor
- To liaise with the Health and Welfare Coordinator on any health issues regarding puppies and dogs within the Assistance Dog Training Scheme
- Support the Assistance Dog Trainers with potential matches for a particular client or clients and dog, and to report this progress regularly in Dog and Client matching meetings
- Highlight to the Head of Canine Supply, Training and Welfare in a timely manner, if you feel a dog is not reaching the appropriate standard or may be more suitable for another role. Detailed evidenced reasons why, must be supplied
- If and when required, to stay away from home, supporting Assistance Dog Trainers with their puppies and volunteers who are based in our regional areas
- To liaise with the Dog Supply Advisor on puppy intake
- To oversee the rehoming of withdrawn puppies and dogs from the Socialising Scheme
Socialiser Recruitment
- To monitor and when necessary, highlight to the Head of Canine Supply, Training and Welfare a shortage of Puppy Socialisers.
- Assist in the recruitment of new volunteer Socialisers
Other
- To support the Head of Canine Supply, Training and Welfare with the annual Trustee reports
- Update the Harlequin CRM database in a timely fashion to ensure accurate and up to date training, veterinary and health records
- Support the charity’s fundraising, communications and volunteering teams as required, specifically in relation to your area
- From time to time, you may be required to have a dog live with you for additional training for a set period
- Share best practice with colleagues across the charity
- To be familiar with ADUK and ADI regulations, ensure that you adhere to these standards with regards to behaviour, obedience, welfare, and branding
- To liaise with and provide support for Volunteers who may operate as part of the Medical Alert Assistance Dog Department or charity as a whole

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to demonstrate high-quality judgement and a proven track record in relation to the following:
- Dog training matters including the analysis of temperaments, appropriate training methods, and requirements necessary to maintain public confidence in assistance dogs.
- Solutions to training and behavioural problems.
- Assistance Dog Training including the ability to assess each person’s preferred learning style and adapt as appropriate your training approach, the specific programmes to be followed,
- Welfare and safety and appropriate time for referral to others.
- Appropriate support to apprentices
- Dealings with other staff, clients, and members of the public
- Strong and clear teaching and instructing skills.
- Ability to plan work, be organised, and ensure that time is utilised effectively for yourself, colleagues, and Socialisers.
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of people internally and externally. This will include clients and their families, fosterers, other professional service providers, members of the public, the media, managers, and other colleagues.
- High level of IT literacy and report writing skills including experience of using Microsoft-based programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and Power Point.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Practical knowledge in the following areas:
· AD(UK) and ADI regulations.
· Basic theory of practical dog training.
· Law in relation to dogs.
· Knowledge of medical conditions relevant to puppies between 8 weeks and 2 years of age.
· Dog and human psychology.
· Health and safety implications of dog and socialiser handling. Some experience of assisting with the training and development of less experienced colleagues
