Teddington Methodist Circuit are seeking a families and community layworker who can both work effectively with church groups, as well as offer a confident outward-looking approach to working with local communities, especially where there is a high level of social need.
The principal role will be to support the five circuit churches in delivering a range of projects designed to promote more active participation by children and their families in church life.
Building on an existing foundation of well-established groups, but with the scope to plan fresh initiatives in response to identified need, the postholder will be expected to provide direct leadership and support to volunteers who help deliver these services.
Teddington Circuit is on the edge of Southwest London, within the London District. Information about the circuit and its component churches can be found on our website.
We are seeking a candidate who can bring experience of delivering successful children and families groups and projects within a church context, and applying it to support the circuit in achieving its mission of engagement, participation and growing in faith. Experience of working collaboratively with ecumenical partners would be desirable.
The successful candidate will be a practicing Christian in sympathy with the doctrine and values of the Methodist Church. There is an expectation that the candidate will be able to share their faith with others and support those who are seeking to begin or continue their spiritual journey.
The successful candidate will be home based and need to live within reasonable commuting distance of SW London. Given the nature of the work the hours will be spread across the week and may include some weekend activity.

Home-Start is committed to promoting the welfare of families with young children to enable them to have the best start in life. We are recruiting a Family Support Coordinator to help us provide targeted, specialised support to families in Barnet, who could be struggling with any of a range of issues. This includes those with children under the age of 5, expecting parents who may be experiencing poor mental health or families with complex circumstances with children up to the age of 19.
Our Coordinators are integral members of the Home-Start team, as well as wider teams of professionals from universal and specialist services to provide a coordinated response to families’ needs. They assess need and carefully match volunteers with families. This may include instigating Early Help assessments and attending case planning meetings.
Coordinators work with their own volunteer team, ensuring they are supported and fully trained to achieve the best outcomes for families and, in particular, the children. Coordinators work with families in their own home. They are skilled in recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns, be apt in completing strengths-based assessments and conversations. They also have a deep understanding of the issues families can face and the link with childhood development and difficulties they may experience later in life.
The post holder will build on our existing work and our relationships in Barnet, to deliver a volunteer-led home-visiting service and related activities to local families. This will require a good working knowledge of the borough, community partners and agencies. You will ideally be co-located in one of the community centres or community venues but will be required to travel around the borough regularly. Coordinators will allso participate in weekly family groups in each borough, based in the children's centres and family hubs.
We are recruiting a Coordinator for Barnet to cover a period of secondment until 31st March 2025. However, there may be an opportunity for this to be extended further subject to funding. The work is largely field-based, but will require regular days in the office which is in Finchley, Barnet.

About the role:
The purpose of the role is to provide key administrative support to the Business Development Team. Our Finance Officer role is a vital part of our valued team. The finance function is integral to the effective operation of the organisation. Managed well it enables us to assess our financial stability and understand our capacity for growth and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities for the role:
- Managing accounts receivable/payable
- Reconcile bank accounts regularly including a final month end reconciliation for monthly reporting
- Process monthly payroll, manage NEST and HMRC
- Monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
- Answer queries from other departments about financial information
- Assist in the production of monthly management accounts, annual budget and statutory reporting
- Monitor the finance mailbox

The Trustees of St Neots Foodbank are looking for a new Foodbank Manager to join our amazing team of volunteers. We are a community-led operation that is based on, shaped, and guided by Christian principles. We believe no-one in our community should have to face going hungry.
St Neots Foodbank was founded ten years ago by the town’s churches; and is part of the Trussell Trust network and is still managed by trustees from those churches. At St Neots Foodbank we have our own warehouse and run four distribution centres across St Neots each week; all currently staffed by over 70 volunteers.

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the operations at St Neots Foodbank, giving particular attention to operational efficiency and standards in line with the terms of the franchise, including the implementation of existing policies and standard operating processes. You will be instrumental in enabling our Foodbank to continue to support our community and support and guide its future development.
Our ideal candidate will have relevant experience and be able to demonstrate great leadership qualities to build strong teams based on trust and understanding. Self-motivation, organisation and excellent interpersonal skills will be essential for this role. We are looking for an individual who is in sympathy with Christian values, and who has the ability to work empathetically with people from disadvantaged, marginalised, or socially excluded backgrounds.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced immigration adviser to lead our dynamic immigration advice team and help shape the future of the programme as part of the senior management team at a fast-growing charity in London. As IRMO's Immigration Advice Programme Manager, you will bring your expertise and experience together to organise, implement and improve our range of immigration services to offer the maximum benefit for our community, in both the short and long term. You will also play an important role in the development and implementation of organisation-wide processes, as well as managing our Sponsorship Management System. Your responsibilities will include implementing and progressing the programme's overarching strategy; the ongoing development and training of team members; representing IRMO across broader advice networks; and advising on organisational responsibilities related to immigration. You will also have the chance to develop new, cross-over skills beyond advice provision. Are you keen to see bolder policies from the UK government on climate, public space, and tackling high-carbon sectors including cars and flights? We are seeking a Public affairs lead with familiarity with the UK’s political landscape who can take forward our campaigns for policy change to reduce the environmental harms of advertising and consumption of high-carbon travel, particularly aviation. We are seeking change in three principle areas:
- Tobacco-style legislation to restrict advertising for high carbon products, namely: airlines, airports, non-electric cars (especially SUVs) and fossil fuel companies
- Strengthening national planning regulations to protect our public spaces and neighbourhoods from the spread of intrusive, outdoor digital advertising screens.
- The introduction of policies to reduce demand for aviation in a fair and equitable manner, including a frequent flyer levy.
Working with others in the Possible team and our partner organisations on the Badvertising project Adfree Cities and New Weather Institute, you’ll keep on top of the latest developments in areas of sustainable transport, aviation and public space planning policies. You’ll design interventions and events for innovative policy proposals which move the ‘choice architecture’ in which we make decisions away from business-as-usual and towards an economy that puts communities, sustainability and a liveable planet first.
