Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT) is a youth development outdoor learning charity which has been improving the skills and life chances of disadvantaged young people since 1956.

We envision a world where all young people strive to create better outcomes for themselves and for their communities. To do this, out on the ocean we empower young people to realise their true potential, supporting them on their journey to adulthood and for some, into volunteering and careers in the maritime sector and the blue economy.

Utilising our fleet of four 72ft Challenger yachts and a 55ft ketch, we were able to support more than 1,200 young people last year. 80% were from disadvantaged backgrounds; 40% were female; and 25% identified as belonging to the global majority. Our aim is to significantly increase the numbers we support over the next few years.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Trusts & Grants fundraiser to join our small, hardworking team.

The role holder will contribute towards achieving our ambitious yearly income target by helping to maintain our well-established Trusts & Grants portfolio, as well as identifying new funding opportunities as we seek to grow and diversify this income stream.

Responsibilities will include developing and submitting winning funding proposals, reporting on funds spent, and excellent stewardship. The role will form part of the Fundraising, Digital and Marketing team, and will sit alongside our current Trusts & Grants fundraiser, supported by the Head of Fundraising and Marketing.

The ideal candidate will have experience in successful Trusts & Grants income generation, including report writing and demonstrating the impact of funding. They will need excellent written skills, communication skills and good attention to detail.

Our intention is for this role to be covered for three days a week, but the successful candidate will have the opportunity to negotiate their preferred working pattern.

Bid Support Manager

Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is an independent charity dedicated to helping the successful integration of refugees and people seeking asylum into the local community. With over three decades of experience, we provide a holistic service which includes advice on welfare, benefits, and immigration, alongside education, counselling, and career guidance.

In 2023/24 we supported 2,036 people:

• 1,171 clients accessed advice and advocacy services, including immigration advice
• 305 accessed ESOL classes
• 250 children supported through after school and family support services
• 61 people supported through our counselling service

This is an exciting time to join RAK at the start of the new fundraising strategy for 2024-2028. RAK currently has a successful grant fundraising programme through a selection of statutory bodies, trusts and foundations, and recognises the need - and opportunity - to broaden and diversify its income generation streams. We are looking for a fundraiser to build on existing strengths within the organisation to broaden our income stream through corporate support, individual giving, major donors and social media fundraising campaigns alongside maintaining and developing our trusts and foundations funding.

Purpose of the role

As Fundraising Manager, you will lead the fundraising functions of the charity to generate income, meet organisational targets, and ensure development opportunities are effectively maximised. Working with the Director and programme teams, you will develop and write competitive bids, growing capacity and securing income for 24/25 and beyond. We are focused on multi-year bids and opportunities that deliver the best outcomes for our client community. As a client-led organisation, we strive to meet the needs of our clients and deliver impact-focused programmes.

The Fundraising Manager will have proven experience of successful grant writing and demonstrate a track record of fundraising achievements across multiple income streams.

Main areas of accountability

Fundraising - general

• Writing and submitting bids, tenders and proposals to ensure income targets are met in line with performance objectives
• Responsibility for the development and the implementation of RAK’s fundraising strategy, in line with organisational strategy and resources
• Providing stewardship to existing donors and supporters to maximise income and ensure long-term funding relationships
• Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the services provided at RAK

Trusts and Foundations, Statutory Funding

• Securing regular income by producing and submitting appealing fundraising applications to trusts and foundations as well as statutory funding
• Researching, monitoring, and identifying new funding opportunities for the development of existing or new services and organisational capacity
• Reporting to funders in line with funding criteria, objectives and the specified outcomes conditional to the funding

Individual Giving

• Ensuring that donations are acknowledged in an appropriate and timely manner in line with the stewardship policy
• Managing the charity’s supporter database and online donations
• Developing an excellent supporters’ journey via digital means and channels
• Preparing appealing fundraising campaigns and cases for support to the general public
• Working with the Partnership and Digital Marketing Co-ordinator to maximise income from social media channels and other digital channels
• Keeping up to date with professional best practice and recent trends, identifying developments that impact the organisation, and sharing knowledge appropriately across teams and departments

Corporate Giving

• Leading the expansion of RAK’s corporate giving initiatives, identifying and developing opportunities for engagement, and achieving the corporate income target
• Managing the Partnership and Digital Marketing Coordinator, whose primary focus is on corporate giving

Community Engagement Coordinator - Wales

Location: The role will be based out of the BookTrust Offices in Cardiff.  BookTrust works in a hybrid and flexible way with an expectation of a minimum of 8 face to face collaboration days per month which could be at the Cardiff office, visiting partners across Wales and on occasions UK wide travel.  There will therefore be reasonable travel needed to fulfil the role, with occasional overnight stays.

About the role:

What we are looking for in you

• Senior Leadership Experience: Proven track record of senior leadership in the charity sector, ideally at an infrastructure or membership organisation, including line management experience and responsibility for managing programme delivery and budgets.
• Training & Capacity Building Programme Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in designing, delivering and measuring the impact of training and other capacity-building programmes for charities and under-represented communities.
• Business Development: Demonstrated expertise in designing and pitching for paid for training and other services.

About the role:

The Communications Officer will work across all channels to raise the profile of Blagrave and its partners and the work they do. You'll oversee the day to day management of our social media channels, website, and newsletter, and will leverage your creativity and proficiency in copywriting and content creation across the platforms. With a keen eye for detail, you'll work closely with the team to develop comms outputs, effectively delivering our message so that the right content reaches the right audiences, and our digital channels continue to grow.

This role is subject to Basic DBS. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.

Key responsibilities

Social media

• Maintain Blagrave’s social media accounts, and work with the wider team to ensure a regular social media presence for Blagrave.
• Research, create, and publish content for Blagrave’s social media platforms. This includes writing, getting approval and scheduling content, and creating appropriate imagery that is engaging and aligned to Blagrave’s style guide.
• Proactively monitor our social media channels, responding as relevant.
• Monitor social media outputs of other charitable foundations and youth organisations to inspire and inform Blagrave’s communications output.
• Strengthen Blagrave’s digital output/presence and reach by tracking analytics via monthly reporting on social media performance, making recommendations of how we can engage with audiences more effectively

• Regularly update and maintain the organisation’s website, liaising with colleagues to ensure all content is current and relevant.
• Publish regular blog posts and vacancies, when required.

Wider comms

• Liaise with colleagues in other teams to understand and support them in their comms needs, implementing internal / external comms initiatives as required.
• Design, draft and circulate internal and external comms outputs and suggest new ways to communicate our messages to our audiences.
• Be a guardian of Blagrave’s tone and brand identity, reviewing communications outputs prepared by the team.
• Share relevant comms assets and content to external stakeholders as required.
• Document Comms processes.
• Monitor Blagrave’s communication budget, liaising with the Head of Operations and Finance and Governance Manager.

Other

• Provide general support to the Blagrave team where additional capacity is needed across all areas of work.
• Represent the Blagrave Trust externally at meetings when required.
• Show an active commitment to anti oppressive and anti-racist practices including attending organisational training and reflection sessions to implement into your work and Blagrave's wider work.
• Attend regular training to support learning and development.

Senior Quality Assurance Officer

Location: Remote (UK based) with travel required

Salary: £34,200 (Grade 4) per year (plus Inner London Weighting of £3,483.94, if eligible)

Length of contract:  Fixed Term Contract 12 months

Hours per week: 37 hours per week – some flexibility required around the standard working pattern due to site visits etc.

Who are Women’s Aid?

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

Purpose of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer role: 

As Senior Quality Assurance Officer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting and innovating Women’s Aid’s National Quality Standards (NQS) offer for member services. Sitting within Women’s Aid’s busy Membership Team, the postholder will successfully lead in supporting member services to continually improve and evidence good quality specialist responses to survivors’ needs in local service provision and will support the internal team alongside external consultant assessors to deliver a strong quality framework that reflects the diversity, and complex work of our members.  A key time for Women’s Aid to connect our policy work, our membership and our strategic campaigning work around the standards that fully represents the unique value of the membership body. 

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer:

• To be responsible for the coordination of delivery of Women’s Aid National Quality Standards assessments including ensuring assessment processes are completed in a timely manner. 
• Scheduling Quality Assessment Panels including recruitment of panelists. This will include responsibility for ensuring terms of reference are fulfilled and ensuring potential conflicts of interest are identified and addressed. 
• Presenting assessments to the Quality Assessment Panel in the unavoidable absence of the assessor and notetaking including recording outcomes, actions and decisions where required.
• To support the Chair of the Quality Assessment Panel in conducting panel meetings and highlight areas of risk or conflict to the Chair in advance of meetings.
• Be first point of contact for dealing with appeals and complaints, managing low to middle-risk complaints and escalating to the Membership Resolution Manager as required for high risk complaints. 
• Responsibility for allocation of assessments to internal and consultant assessors ensuring target dates are met and operational considerations, such as location and conflict of interests, are considered. 
•  To conduct quality standards assessments of domestic abuse services, including reviewing evidence, making site visits, writing assessment reports and presenting cases to the Quality Assessment Panel.
• Review of assessment reports for quality, adherence to standards and consistency prior to presentation at Quality Assessment Panel, including giving feedback to the assessor and ensuring this is actioned.
• Develop a clear strategy and delivery plans to support the sustainability and growth of the Women’s Aid National Quality standards including supporting increase of income-generation activities.
• Line management of Quality Assurance Officer including day-to-day support, supervision and appraisal activities.
• To work across WAFE to promote the Women’s Aid National Quality Standards to commissioners and government as the ‘gold standard’ quality framework for services working with women and child survivors of domestic violence.  

What we are looking for in our Senior Quality Assurance Officer:

• Knowledge of quality frameworks appropriate to domestic violence services.  
• Knowledge and proven experience of the principles of quality assurance and good practice in delivering accreditation processes.   
• A very good understanding of the experiences and needs of women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence and violence against women and girls and the intersectionality that impacts this
• Thorough understanding of the role of specialist services supporting women and children at risk of violence against women and girls   
• Experience of writing and producing briefings and reports   
• Experience of planning, delivering and managing projects within a set timeframe and with clear outputs.  
• Experience of providing and/or managing direct services to survivors of violence against women and girls.   
• Excellent verbal, written and computer literacy skills.   
• Ability to analyse complex information and identify the implications for women and children affected by domestic violence and the services supporting them.

Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard connects and supports people in need across Sussex. Originally set up as a helpline in 1975, we've grown to deliver a wide range of essential services for our community.

This exciting new role will be supporting Switchboard to continue innovating, developing and delivering services, by and for LGBTQ people in Sussex.

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated, experienced fundraiser to oversee and drive forward all of our income generation. This post will work closely alongside our various teams and projects to raise awareness of our work among potential supporters. The postholder will be responsible for building sustainable and diverse income streams through regular giving, bid writing, events, and corporate partnerships. You will establish engaging supporter journeys that maintain long-term relationships with regular donors, high net worth supporters, and corporate clients.

Here's the person specification for the role:

• At least 2 years of experience of proven success in a fundraising role.
• Detailed knowledge of at least one of the following: trusts and foundations / individual giving / community / corporate fundraising.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage and enthuse audiences through a broad range of communications channels.
• Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating events, projects and/or campaigns.
• Leadership experience - this could be in work or elsewhere, with staff, projects, volunteers or communities.
• Project management and organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise and work in a self-directed manner.
• Understanding of LGBTQ+ communities.
• Ability and willingness to help with organisational events such as Pride or conferences several times a year.
• Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with frontline staff, volunteers, service users and partner organisations.
• Numerate; able to understand, monitor and manage budgets and other financial information and systems.
• A strong belief in Switchboard's vision, mission and values.
