Head of Professionals Regulation (Adjudication and Associates)- 15 month Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic individual to lead our Adjudication and Associates team to ensure our hearings function runs smoothly whilst supporting our strategic vision for regulatory excellence.

Salary: £74,503 - £90,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus benefits

Location: Canary Wharf, London (Hybrid working approach) This a hybrid role with an expectation that you will be working from the Canary Wharf office at least one day per week, and as and when required for in-person hearings or meetings.

Hours: Between 28 – 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday

The Role

As part of the Enforcement portfolio’s senior leadership team, the Head of Professional Regulation will lead a high performing team to meet key strategic objectives and ensure the successful delivery of our regulatory remit. You will be at the forefront of ensuring public safety and shaping our regulatory services, all while championing innovation, service improvement and inclusivity.

This role is subject to a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of our pre-employment due diligence.

The successful applicant will:

• Lead with expertise: Provide strategic direction and expert advice on all adjudication-related matters to the Executive and GPhC Council, deputising for the Chief Enforcement Officer where required.
   
• Manage a high-performing team: Lead a cohesive and motivated team committed to delivering exceptional hearings and regulatory services, with a clear focus on continuous improvement and service excellence.
   
• Drive operational success: Oversee quality, timeliness, and cost objectives for our adjudication functions while ensuring data accuracy and proactive performance monitoring.
   
• Collaborate for impact: Forge strong partnerships with senior stakeholders and actively contribute to, and take responsibility for, strategic planning and formulation of policies as part of the Enforcement senior leadership team.
   
• Ensure robust governance: Support the Chair of the Appointments and Assurance Committee with key tasks, from recruitment and development to performance management of our statutory committee members.

Community Hub Coordinator

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Community Hub Coordinator to continue the transformation of our service offerings and create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community hub. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming environment that empowers marginalised groups, including asylum seekers, refugees, and those facing isolation or homelessness, helping them to thrive within the Newham community. As the Community Hub Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of key aspects of our community hub, ensuring it remains a safe space where individuals can connect, share experiences, and build relationships. You will lead a team of committed volunteers and sessional staff, manage various hub activities, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to provide holistic support for our service users. As part of your remit you will also work alongside colleagues to develop our exciting new community meanwhile space by organising events, workshops and informal opportunities for connection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Community Building & Engagement: Develop and manage a welcoming hub that operates 5 days a week, offering tailored activities and programs that meet the needs and strengths of the community.
• Support & Empowerment: Work closely with volunteers to provide encouragement and support, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment among hub participants. To include developing a steering group to help amplify the voices of marginalised individuals and groups.
• Partnership Development: Maintain and strengthen partnerships with local organisations and agencies, ensuring integrated and holistic support for service users.
• Operational Leadership: Assist in the hub's daily operations, including coordinating volunteers and supporting the management of the community café.
• Promotion & Outreach: Promote the hub's activities and conduct outreach to engage vulnerable groups, ensuring inclusivity and cultural diversity.
• Monitoring, Evaluation, and Compliance: Use tools like Upshot to track participation and outcomes, ensuring compliance with funders as well as our own strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in community engagement or project management and possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of developing and delivering community-based programs. You should be IT literate, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Leading the team in planning and delivering new business activity, drawing on business need, our organisation strategy, sector trends, meeting agreed annual income targets.
