Reporting to the Grounds and Landscape Supervisor, key responsibilities include:
- To carry out the maintenance, conservation, and practical management of all areas of horticultural interest to the highest standard throughout the year
- Undertake practical gardening and maintenance tasks such as mowing, strimming, planting, pruning, and weeding.
- Use of all types of handheld and ride on machinery, to facilitate the grounds maintenance of all areas throughout the year.
- To support volunteers in supporting the horticultural management of the Arboretum to deliver appropriate projects and maintenance, including attending the NMA’s working weekend.
- Ensure that exemplary standards of horticultural and arboricultural husbandry and plantsman ship are maintained at all times.
- To ensure compliance of Health and Safety legislation.

The Arboretum is the UK’s year-round centre of Remembrance and part of the Royal British Legion. Home to over 350 memorials, including the nationally-important Armed Forces Memorial, it remembers the service and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country. The 150-acre site features around 30,000 maturing trees and an abundance of wildlife. Each year the Arboretum welcomes around 300,000 visitors, many of whom attend one of the 200+ events which take place across the site.

About You
The successful candidate will be employed by the IUCN UK Peatland Programme’s host organisation, The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts. The new team member will be pivotal in the delivery of the Peatland Programme’s objectives to champion peatland values. They will have the level of knowledge and experience to drive forward and promote peatland restoration in the UK and be able to advocate the multiple benefits of peatlands through partnerships, strong science, sound policy and effective practice, and communication.
They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Communications and Engagement Lead to drive and deliver the IUCN UK Peatland Programme’s communications activity to promote the benefits of healthy peatlands to a national audience. This will be done primarily through establishing and maintaining good relationships with external contacts and partners and using these networks to identify opportunities and to build the Programme’s reach. You will lead the production of communications materials through design and appropriate messaging, assist their advocacy work, and plan and deliver events such as online workshops and their annual conference.
They are looking for someone who is passionate about communicating peatlands to a wide audience and is creative and proactive in their approach. The peatland agenda has expanded exponentially over the last 10 years and you will need to be an excellent team player and networker to capture what is happening and communicate this to multiple partners and stakeholders. The Communications and Engagement Lead post is a standalone communications post within a small team (9 people) and your ability to quickly develop good relationships with partner organisations will be critical to your success in the role.
You will be lead on the delivery of the communications strand of the Peatland Programme’s activity. You should have experience of designing publications, creating digital content, newsletters, running stakeholder events and managing social media accounts. You will support the wider Peatland Programme team in networking, identifying opportunities for collaboration, as well as in the production of resources such as briefings and web content.

The Organisation
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. The Role
As a Park Officer, you will assist in the management of Greenwich Park, focusing on developing and enhancing contract and service delivery.
Assisting the Park Manager and Assistant Park Manager, you will ensure excellent presentation of the park, safe facilities for visitors and good grounds maintenance.

About You
To be considered as a Park Officer, you will need:
- Experience of managing public accessible places such as parks, gardens, open spaces or nature reserves in compliance with relevant legislation and health and safety practices
- Knowledge of managing urban parks, open spaces or nature reserves in terms of operations, service standards and service improvement
- An understanding of the importance of parks within an urban setting

The Isle of Wight is facing some major challenges, but the Trust is demonstrating how nature led approaches can resolve many of the local issues through ecosystem service provision. It’s an exciting time for the Island with the Trust delivering Wilder 2030 and through collaboration with partners much more is planned for nature and people by delivering land and seascape scale restoration. The Solent area hosts some of the Trusts most loved nature reserves. This area is under pressure from development, climate change and sea level rise posing some challenging scenarios for the future and the need for proactive engagement and problem solving to ensure sustainable solutions for the future.

ABOUT US
The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a world where trees and woods thrive for people and nature. The Trust engages and inspires people to make their difference tackling the nature and climate crisis helping protect, restore and create our vital woods and trees.
THE ROLE
The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the Lost Woods of the Low Weald and Downs project which is a 5 year programme of activity supported with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). We are in Year 2 of project delivery with project funding for this role until March 2028. This is a partnership project led by the Woodland Trust, with Action for rural Sussex, Small Woodland Association and Sussex Wildlife Trust.
Coordination of the Lost Woods partners is a vital part of this role and will require close collaboration with key staff from all the partner organisations to ensure delivery of a complex programme of activity. The project manager will be required to work closely with the project delivery group that includes a Lost Woods woodland advisor and communications officer at the Woodland Trust, a team of Lost Woods community development workers and a volunteer coordinator at Action in rural Sussex and a training officer at Small Woods Association. Monitoring and reporting on progress of programme delivery will be a key aspect of the role, including close awareness of the partnership’s agreed budget.
This is a fixed term role until March 2028.
THE CANDIDATE
You’ll have proven project and/or programme management skills with experience of leading the delivery of complex cross-functional projects from inception to implementation and review. You’ll have experience of building and maintaining a cohesive virtual project team across a partnership with a shared purpose as well as collaborative leaderships skills.
You’ll be analytical, self-motivated, and proactive and be able to build and nurture effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in order for the partnership to deliver its funded programme.
The successful candidate should be located in suitable distance from the Lost Woods of the Low Weald and Downs.

We're looking for a creative Visitor Experience and Engagement Officer who can connect people with nature. Working at Minsmere, you'll provide fascinating visitor experiences, drawing people in through new, quality events.
Minsmere is the RSPB’s flagship reserve on the Suffolk coast, giving visitors incredible wildlife spectacles.
You will develop our visitor offer, ensuring high quality experiences. You will be a good communicator, experienced at delivering events and engaging with new audiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Introduce new visitors to the RSPB by working with the Visitor Experience Manager to create a range of new and exciting events. These new events will sit alongside our current programme of events and will enhance our visitor offer and drive footfall.

b. Support the Board with planning and promotion of training events (online or in-person), booking speakers and managing bookings.
c. Advise on and help implement an effective communications programme.

e. Keep membership records up to date and manage renewals annually.

g. Organise the jobs and volunteer opportunities service for members.
3. Conference planning
a. Coordinate annual conference (online or in-person) with support from the Training and Conference workstream.

d. Manage bookings, participants list and send out conference pack.
e. Organise catering with venue and relevant workstream.

4. Finance

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Finance will provide a stable and flexible finance function to support the charity at an exciting time of growth and development. Working with teams across the organisation, this role is critical to maximising impact through excellent financial management. You will need to communicate with all levels to promote understanding of the finances of the charity, including preparing information to trustees and finance audit and risk committee, as well as being an advisor to the COO and wider Executive team in contributing to forward planning and strategy.
You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the charity and its wholly owned subsidiary. This role will include overseeing and finalising the production of financial management information, leading on the production of budgets, forecasts and financial planning and analysis. The role will take on the main contact for relevant external stakeholders such as bankers, auditors and investment managers and will work closely with, and support, the COO on strategic planning to deliver organisational growth.

The ideal candidate will be a finance professional and be ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA qualified or equivalent, with previous experience of leading a finance team within a Charity or similar organisation. With a strong degree of financial acumen, you will have. the ability to liaise and communicate with high level key stakeholders, and create insightful financial information that will direct business planning and performance. You will be an effective team manager who is able to communicate professionally at all levels within the organisation and with proven experience in leading and developing finance teams to be organisational business partners in line with WLT’s stewardship model.
