About the role

We’re seeking a solicitor to lead the development of a new legal advice service for kinship carers. Joining an established advice team in a growing national charity, this is a new role focussed on delivering specialist legal advice to individuals and changing policy and practice through strategic casework.

Importantly, the postholder will have the opportunity to shape the role to best meet the needs of Kinship and kinship carers.

You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive team who keep kinship carers at the heart of their service.

Our Advice Team supports kinship carers in complex and challenging situations. It can be a tough role at times, so we prioritise adviser wellbeing and are developing a trauma informed approach to our advice work that we’ll be embedding across the service.

The type of person we’re looking for

You will be a 3 year PQE solicitor with strong knowledge of child law, family court processes and related safeguarding legislation. You will have the ability to become a leading expert in kinship care law. You will bring a compassionate and practical approach to supporting kinship carers to navigate legal challenges, access support, and achieve the best outcomes for the children in their care.

You will understand the broader systemic challenges faced by kinship carers, be a strategic thinker and have an interest in service development and policy influencing.

You will need to be resilient and be able to remain calm in difficult situations. You will be firm, sensitive and professional in your approach and will be clear and assertive as you identify key issues and support kinship carers to get their needs met quickly and effectively.

You will understand how important it is that kinship carers feel confident in making their own decisions with the right information and advice so that they can build their own knowledge and confidence rather than dependency.

Key responsibilities include:

· Provide high quality, people centred, specialist legal advice and assistance to kinship carers in England and Wales on kinship care law-related matters.

· Undertake casework and strategic casework.

· Lead the development of Kinship’s legal offer to kinship carers.

· Provide support, resources and training to colleagues in the advice team to support the quality of legal advice.

· Ensure our legal service is compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements.

· Work with our Policy and Campaigns team to identify opportunities for influencing policy and practice through strategic casework, litigation, policy work or campaigning.

· Support colleagues in our Training and Website teams to develop legally accurate content and resources.

Essential knowledge, abilities, skills and experience include:

· A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in child law, family law, or closely related fields.

· Experience in both private and public law child-related cases.

· Strong knowledge of child law, family court processes, and related safeguarding legislation.

· Ability to provide clear, accurate, and practical legal advice tailored to the individual circumstances of vulnerable people.

· Excellent written skills and research skills.

· Strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

· Confident in using digital tools, and an ability to learn new tools.

•Strong ethical standards and a passion for supporting vulnerable individuals to obtain access to justice.

About the role

As one of two Regional Programmes Manager, you’ll inspire and lead a team of Senior Programmes Officers and Kinship Family Workers to effectively deliver high quality support services for kinship families across Greater London, the South of England and the Midlands.

You’ll do this by working in close collaboration with local authority teams who have commissioned our services and other funders where appropriate.

You’ll have accountability and ownership for ensuring we deliver impactful services for kinship carers and that we meet targets for our commissioned services. Working collaboratively with our other managers in other services, you’ll ensure we’re delivering high impact programmes.

You’ll ensure your team have real clarity and direction on their role and responsibilities - encouraging curiosity, learning and solutions-focused thinking. As a leader in the organisation, you are a key model for the team.

Your team will deliver the following programmes:

• Kinship Connected – in-person one-to-one support and support groups in the community
• Kinship Reach – remote one-to-one support and virtual support groups
• Kinship Ready – online workshops to prepare new and prospective special guardians for their role, as well as wraparound one-to-one support (in one local authority)

You will also manage a new role of Grants Officer - London, funded by the Aviva Foundation.

As one of our deputy safeguarding leads, you’ll be part of our key safeguarding structure.  This means you’ll take ownership to make sure our people feel confident and well supported to demonstrate best practice and making sure safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee the day-to-day running of programmes, supporting mostly home-based Senior Programmes Workers and Kinship Family Workers to ensure high quality, consistent and impactful programme delivery.

• Meet performance targets as directed.

• Create and keep developing processes and systems which support consistency across all programmes, ensuring good quality documentation and manualisation on Notion.so

• Develop quality assurance frameworks with other service managers and directors.

• Support your team to establish and deliver in-person and virtual peer support groups regionally and generate engagement with kinship carers.

• Line management and supervision of Senior Programmes Workers and Kinship Family Workers as required.

• Actively encourage personal development and support staff to deliver key targets and outcomes and ensure high levels of wellbeing.

• Work with the Director of Services and Digital, Head of Programmes and the Business Development team to develop proposals and present to local authorities to secure commissions.

• Manage the delivery of commissioned contracts through collaborative relationships with local authorities, ensuring targets are met.

• Manage the programmes and services within budget, in accordance with Kinship’s financial procedures and ensure the reporting of progress in line with funder requirements.

• Work actively and positively with other managers within Kinship to ensure sharing of best practice, problem solving, relevant connections and consistency of delivery across England and Wales.

• Act as a deputy safeguarding lead at Kinship

Essential requirements include:

• Substantial experience in managing a regional service or programme with high quality outputs (national experience desirable but not essential).
• Substantial experience of managing, developing and evaluating effective and innovative services for families experiencing crisis and experience in reaching ‘hidden communities’ and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Experience of leading and managing continuous improvement in changing contexts.
• Experience of governance and managing risk on high profile service delivery.
• Experience of ensuring that services are designed and led with user needs at the heart, ensuring that the voices of our kinship carers inform ongoing design and development of our programmes.
• High quality digital and data literacy and using technology to help us to be better in our processes. You’ll have to own Salesforce and be a massive champion for the team. You will be accountable for ensuring they use it well.
• Substantial experience of leading high-performing service teams including managing wellbeing, development and performance.

This is a key role, the lives of kinship carers are incredibly complex.  Give one example of a safeguarding situation that required your response in a previous role. About the Role

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a talented, creative and dedicated marketing professional to join our small but powerful team to help deliver our new strategy. 

As a new role in the hospice’s Fundraising & Marketing Team, the Marketing & Communications Manager will join an existing team of fundraising managers working to maximise awareness and support of the hospice in order to ensure its long-term sustainability.

The postholder will be responsible for the operational management, development and delivery of marketing and  communications to support the hospice’s income generation strategy, including line management of the Website Editor and Marketing & Communications Officer, and external agencies.

The successful candidate will be an experienced marketing professional, used to working closely with income generating teams. They will oversee the delivery of a compelling programme of multi-channel communications with the sole aim of increasing the awareness of and support for the charity. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing and communications planning, delivery and performance management

• Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Marketing, develop a clear marketing and communications plan to support the strategies for fundraising, retail and volunteering.
• Implement, monitor and analyse marketing and communications plans and budgets, producing impactful insights and reports to guide our ever-evolving work through all communication channels.
• Develop and maximise the marketing mix, identifying innovative initiatives and working across online and offline channels, to best support the promotion of all income generation activities across the hospice.
• Ensure compliance to industry standards and best practice at all times.
• Support the fundraising strategy in proactively researching and targeting audiences across the catchment area to ensure a broadening of reach and awareness of the breadth of the hospice’s services.
• Be forward facing and lead on engagement with clinical colleagues to promote the need for strong patient stories and effective storytelling to support fundraising.
• Ensure sufficient opportunities for collection of service user data to share news and promote activities.
• Proactively develop and streamline the long-term internal and external communications schedules across the charity.
• Lead on content creation, coordination and production of hospice marketing materials, protecting the reputation, brand and tone of Katharine House.

Operational delivery

• Lead on the writing and distribution of appropriate and engaging press releases, paid adverts, local village features and articles.
• Work closely with the Marketing & Communications Officer to oversee delivery of a planned (and reactive) social media programme, maximising opportunities to increase our profile, using online planning and Analytical tools to plan and report on digital channels to improve targeting and supporter journeys.
• Work closely with the Website Editor to oversee and optimise the KHH website: creating and updating content for the charity and clinical colleagues, including the EPiC Resource Centre.
• Work with the Website Editor and Supporter Care team to ensure that integration of the CRM (Beacon) and website is optimised, to maximise supporter journeys, supporter preference compliance and insights.
• Work together with relevant charity and clinical colleagues and our designer to prepare, design and deliver high-quality marketing materials. 
• Work with the Marketing & Communications Officer to oversee the production of the monthly supporter e-newsletters.
• Alongside your immediate team, manage production of the bi-annual Katharine House magazine from start to finish, with content and thematic planning with fundraising and volunteering managers.
• Lead on content creation to use across the charity. Continue to manage and regularly update our library (filed, captioned, tagged) of patient, staff and volunteer stories with consent, quality photography and video content for use across all of income generation.
• Manage and oversee the charity’s online channels including website, ensuring accurate, up-to-date and engaging content, and ensure all online advertising (inc. paid social media adverts), Google AdWords grant and SEO are effectively managed.
• Liaise with clinical colleagues at our NHS partner OUH to support key marketing, messaging and communication needs, ensuring our brand is correctly used.

Leadership and people management

• Meet regularly with the Website Editor and Marketing & Communications Officer, fostering positive communication and engagement. Carry out monthly one-to-ones, setting quarterly objectives and recognising training needs where necessary.
• As a member of the management team, represent the culture and values of the hospice and charity sector.
• Manage the ongoing and changing priorities within the team, communicating and sharing progress and changes in a clear, timely manner. Promote collaborative working and its benefits across the organisation.
• Attend regular management meetings, contributing to team strategy and overall management/team needs.
• Act as a positive role model to the charity team and wider stakeholders.
• Actively manage the workload of our designer. 
• Where necessary, manage poor performance as it happens and support staff to fulfil their role.
• Network and foster good relationships both internally and externally to the charity.

About the role

The Policy and Public Affairs team is responsible for Carers UK’s policy, media, campaigns, research, public affairs and media functions, working with our colleagues in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are a small team carrying out the full range of public affairs activity, from raising awareness of caring through public campaigns and in the media, to influencing Parliament, Government and wider stakeholders through new research, policy expertise and our campaigning work.

This role plays a vital part in delivering the charity’s core aims to make life better for carers by:

• Contributing to Carers UK's policy and campaigns function in the development and dissemination of policy and supporting key projects to maintain and improve the reputation of the organisation.
• Monitoring, highlighting, and analysing key policy developments by the UK Government and other public bodies regarding their potential impact on carers.
• Liaising and building strong working relationships across the organisation to help deliver the policy and public affairs team’s objectives.
• Ensuring that Carers UK effectively communicates its purpose, policy, and campaigns to achieve change, helping to build the carers movement.

Providing residential parenting assessments in cases where there are concerns about a parent’s capacity to keep a child safe. We are looking for an experienced and confident social worker to join the team across Trevi. You will be working with complex families who have suffered trauma and will be responsible for undertaking a parenting assessment within the timescales directed by the court / local authority.

This will include working directly with families, completing risk assessments, placement plans, providing Court evidence, providing educational activities and feedback to support the child's development and empower the parents to create change that is ‘safe enough parenting'.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience of working within statutory child protection services and is confident operating within the family court arena. As Individual Giving and Appeals Manager, you’ll deliver integrated fundraising campaigns across direct mail, email, and digital channels — helping us grow our individual giving base and strengthen donor loyalty.

• Demonstrable experience in managing individual giving campaigns, legacy fundraising, and / or in-memory fundraising.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our policy, evidence and influencing team to achieve change for people with breast cancer in the Midlands.

You’ll play a key role leading the development and delivery of our influencing work in the Midlands. The role will be part of our new regional policy and influencing function within the policy, evidence and influencing team at Breast Cancer Now. This new element of the team will enable us to continue to deliver our impactful influencing work at a regional level for people affected by breast cancer.  

You’ll maintain knowledge and expertise of breast cancer services and care in the Midlands which will inform our national policy positioning and plans, build our stakeholder relationships and influence change in the Midlands. in line with our strategic aims. This will include focusing on topics such as waiting times, screening, and secondary breast cancer.

About you

You’ll have a good understanding of the current health landscape in the Midlands, or across England, along with experience of working in a relevant stakeholder, strategic, influencing or policy role.

Along with strong strategic, analytical and communication skills, you’ll have a proven ability to build strong external relationships, and influence change within the NHS at a local or national level. You’ll have the ability to work well independently while managing a varied workload, and the capability to lead projects and work with teams across the UK.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

This role involves travel across the Midlands. Therefore, you can either be home based or office based at either our London or Sheffield offices if within reasonable commuting distance.

We are looking to recruit a CEO (Director) to support us in an exciting period of growth. Over the next 5 years, we will double our reach and impact. The CEO (Director) will lead us through this transformative period. 

Since 2011 Disability Africa has developed a model using playschemes as hubs to deliver essential lifesaving services to extremely vulnerable disabled children and to end their exclusion in low-income African communities. Using this model, we have worked with project partners in Kenya, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Zambia. 680 disabled children have now attended our projects more than 90,000 times since 2011. Now the charity is planning to grow and expand with our 5-year plan (‘DA2029’) to replicate the Disability Africa Model to reach more disabled children across Africa.

By 2029 we will: 
• Start work with at least 4 new partners in Africa (as well as expected growth at our existing projects). 
• Deliver 160,000 attendances by at least 1,500 disabled children in 7 African countries. 
• Grow and reach as many disabled children as possible - we know we can’t do it all by ourselves - so we will engage other international NGOs to adopt our model of inclusion.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Be responsible for curating CSE's social media content calendar. With support from digital comms manager, produce engaging content and ensure CSE’s social channels reflect our strategic goals.
• Create engaging multimedia digital content for websites, social media and our e-newsletter including written copy (blogs, news stories, content pages), video, and graphics using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Lead on producing video content to promote CSE’s work, including planning, filming, and editing content using Premier Pro.
• Maintain CSE’s video library, including our internal folders, processes, and YouTube channel.
• Support the Senior Communications and Brand Manager to develop CSE’s suite of branded content. This includes creating branded templates for colleagues to use as well as designing digital and print materials for projects.
• With support from the wider comms team, ensure our online presence including website, social media, email marketing and digital advertising reflects strategic goals.
• Support the day-to-day management of CSE’s website, including uploading and editing content.
• Support the digital communications manager with digital channel optimisation including PPC, SEO, social media (paid and organic) as well as re-designing pages to enhance user experience (UX).
• Commission external videographers and photographers when appropriate, dictated by project and business needs.
• Responsible for producing CSE’s monthly e-news with support from the comms team to ensure CSE’s key work is promoted to external stakeholders.
• Regularly track digital metrics and analyse performance data to optimise messaging and strategies and responsibility for monthly reporting.

Essential attributes for this role include:

• Minimum Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.
• 3- 5 years’ experience in communications, marketing, PR, or related field.

• Ability to create multimedia content, including high quality short videos.
• Experience planning, designing, and creating engaging visual content, both in print and online. Such as flyers, posters, graphics, and videos.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Signposting and Collection Session Coordinator as part of our Foodbank team. This new role will provide dedicated 1-2-1 support to people accessing the Foodbank, delivering Foodbank collection sessions and developing our remote and in-person signposting and support for those accessing the Foodbank. This is a fast-faced, person-centered role, having a direct impact on the lives of local people experiencing hardship

Key responsibilities of this role will be:

• Providing operational support to Foodbank collection centres in host venues across Lambeth and Croydon
• Providing and developing wraparound support to those accessing the Foodbank
• Delivering and developing in-person and remote signposting
• Working with volunteers, partner organisations and host venues to provide effective and efficient support through collection sessions and beyond

The successful post holder must have:

• Proven experience of working or volunteering within a not-for-profit organisation/other food bank
• Experience working with people with multiple and complex needs
• Excellent communication skills

About this job

The Office Administrator role is to provide a high level of customer service and support to our service users, supporters, volunteers, groups, members of the public and internal customers.
