London City Mission is recruiting to a number of mission outreach roles based in various locations across London. In the Mission Associate role, you will work as part of our teams to:

• Collaborate with and equip churches in evangelism to those who are marginalised or least likely to hear the gospel in their local area
• Contribute to the development of sustainable, structured, innovative missional teams in local churches
• Do mission research and mapping of the mission needs and opportunities in a local area
• Contribute to networking with churches in a local area by, for example, building a list of churches and connecting them with the right LCM colleagues with a view to mission partnership.

The roles we are looking to fill will involve ministering in the following locations:

• Mission Associate, shared between our teams in Hounslow & Ealing and Harrow & North Brent with a focus on reaching South Asian communities through our Islam and Other Religions specialism, with a particular focus on people from Hindu and Sikh backgrounds
• Mission Associate in Islington with a focus on Council Estates and Seniors*
• Mission Associate in South London with a focus on Council Estates and Seniors*
• Mission Associate in Barking & Dagenham and Havering with a focus on Homeless and Marginalised ministries.

You would be joining LCM at an exciting time as we take forward our new five-year strategy. Our aim over the next five years is to see 150 new missional teams established in churches across London. We pray that, together by 2029, these teams will be part of 25,000 gospel conversations within communities where Jesus Christ isn't known.

About the role:

As an IDVA you will be:

• Focusing on victims at high risk of harm & will provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Supporting victims face to face or by telephone to access services to keep themselves & family safe.
• Developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs & risk assessment.
• Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including legal & civil options, housing, health & finance as well as support through the criminal justice system.

You will need to:

• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse & the impact on victims and their children

• Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims and their children.

About the oppurtunity:
You will help drive the quality and impact of our key stage 2 (KS2) and key stage 4 (KS4) maths tutoring programmes through subject-specific training of volunteer tutors, and by advising and supporting our (mostly) non-teaching staff members who manage these volunteer tutors day to day.

The Role

You will be responsible for the 2nd line, desktop support, for numerous sites across our park locations. You will be working on the support and resolution of broad ranging issues across our hardware, software and network technologies. The environment is very much Microsoft/Windows based, so Office 365, Outlook & Exchange, Active Directory, Endpoint, etc.

About the role:

This role is based at either our Preston or Accrington Office. After six months probation you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.

As a Triage & early Intervention worker you will be:

• Making initial contact assessing and providing information to victims/survivors.
• Providing any immediate safety and support needs for the victims/and their children(s) including safeguarding when required.
• Providing administrative support to our wider team to support them in the delivery of advocacy to victims/survivors of mainly domestic abuse.
• Liaising with the police and other agencies to ensure all relevant information is collected including safe contact numbers and consent from victims/survivors.
• Gathering feedback from service users and collating this into monthly reports and contributing to monitoring information for the service.
• Participating in regular supervisions and reviews.

You will need to:

• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the myths, facts and misconceptions about domestic abuse.
• Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Understand the needs of victims/survivors of domestic abuse.
• Understand the effects of trauma and the importance of trauma informed practice.
• Have a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
• Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance.

A waking Night Support Worker will help to provided support to the Young People in the service through the night. You will report to the team leader who will supervise your engagement and support of our Young People through the night. About the role:

You will lead and support a team of Homicide Family Caseworkers to meet VS and Homicide Service standards and contractual requirements. You will be able to demonstrate the excellent organisational skills essential to managing a demanding and diverse workload and will have experience of achieving key performance indicators, as set by the Operation managers and Deputy Head of Service.

We pride ourselves on providing exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support to all service users and you will have an understanding of the impact that trauma and bereavement can have on individuals. We support staff to keep them safe within their role and you will lead on the importance of personal and professional resilience and wellbeing for the team.

You will have excellent communication skills and will support the Operation Managers to maintain the highest standards of service delivery, across a widely geographically dispersed team. You will be prepared to travel across the geographical area including occasional overnight stays to ensure you can meet team members in person as well as online. A driving license and use of a car are both essential as well as access to public transport. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

You will also enjoy working closely with a range of stakeholders (including Police Family Liaison Officers and Senior Investigation Officers within the Major Crime teams/Social Services) and will have experience in building constructive working relationships, focused on delivering the best service for vulnerable service users. You should be a confident presenter, and able to share the service and work we do to inform, educate and encourage notifications and referrals into the service.
