Kosi Africa
We are on a mission to build a new generation of young leaders who are problem solvers through; education, leadership, and mentorship, who will, in turn, transform the phase of the community.
More than 1 million children, adolescents and youth in Kenya are out of school. We want to reverse this to zero. Education is a basic right, every child has the right to access it around the world. But, Some drop out of schools because families can’t afford a dollar to sustain their education. We aim to change this to ensure every local child in deep villages has access to the right education.
Kosi Africa provides solutions to address education, leadership, and environmental challenges faced by young people in Kenya. Through its innovative programs and initiatives, it empowers youth to transform their communities and tackle social and economic inequalities. Here’s how Kosi Africa positions itself as a solution:
Kosi Africa’s approach not only addresses immediate challenges like education costs and environmental degradation but also focuses on building long-term, sustainable solutions. Its vision for 2035 is to develop 10 social impact projects that will create 10,000 social impact leaders, ultimately igniting 1 million candles of change across Africa.
By providing education, leadership, and environmental solutions, Kosi Africa empowers young people to solve local problems while fostering a culture of innovation and resilience.

Help to Share Veterans' Stories: Content Writing Volunteer
Create clear and engaging summaries that highlight the incredible stories within the Legasee Archive. Volunteer from home and support this vital educational resource.
About Legasee
Legasee is a charity dedicated to preserving the experiences of military veterans through recorded interviews. These stories capture the rich and diverse histories of individuals who have shaped significant events. By providing short written summaries of these interviews, you’ll help us create a fully searchable archive that empowers schools, universities, researchers, and the public to connect with these incredible narratives.
About the Role
As a Content Writing Volunteer, you’ll play a crucial role in enhancing the Legasee Archive by creating engaging and informative descriptions of veterans. Drawing on their recorded interviews and transcripts, you’ll provide a snapshot of who they are, when they served, and the key themes of their interview. Your work will make the archive more searchable, user-friendly, and valuable as an educational resource.
What You’ll Do
- Watch veteran interviews and review transcripts to understand their story.
- Write concise and accurate descriptions that highlight the veteran’s service, experiences, and contributions (150-200 words).
- Ensure all content is written with respect and sensitivity to the veterans’ voices.
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent written English and the ability to summarise information effectively.
- An interest in history and a passion for preserving personal stories.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Benefits of Volunteering with Legasee:
- Make a Difference: Your work will help preserve veterans’ stories for future generations and enhance access to the archive for educational and research purposes.
- Learn New Skills: Gain valuable experience in content writing, military history, and digital archival work.
- Flexible Working: Volunteer from anywhere, at times that fit your schedule.
Commitment and Support:
We ask for a commitment of about 4 hours per week, but we can be flexible to fit around your other commitments. You’ll receive full guidance and support, including a comprehensive content writing guide and access to our volunteer coordinator.
Join us in making the Legasee Archive an indispensable resource for schools, universities, and the wider public. Apply today and help preserve the legacy of those who served.

Our groups are entirely volunteer run and led. They are in the front line of engagement with local people, with an extensive programme of walks, talks, day trips and indoor meetings for the group and members of the public. We're looking for people who are passionate about connecting people with nature and helping in the smooth running of the group. By becoming part of the group, you'll have the chance to use your existing skills (and learn new ones) to build the group and make it an ever more important aspect of local RSPB connections with people. The roles available will depend on the group and can include:
- Publicity and / or social media
- Website editor
- Helping with organising and running events
Being a community group, you'll also have the opportunity to make new friends, have fun, and know you are enthusing people about the joys of nature. All you need is a willingness and ability to help with one or more of the varied activities of our RSPB groups, and able to give a minimum of a few hours each month. We have groups across the UK (see our map to find your nearest group). Feel free to contact your local group direct or go along to an event or two to find out more. If you can't find a group near you and would like to help set one up, please click on "Ask a question".
Notes: This opportunity is not based on a reserve and may not include practical conservation work. It is also not suitable for work experience. However it can usually be customised to your skills, experience and requirements depending on your situation.
We are committed to better reflecting society within our workforce and are keen to encourage more applications from people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities and younger people.
