The role of the Puppy Socialiser is to ensure that the Charity’s puppy has a good foundation before it starts its training to become part of one of our services. As a Puppy Socialiser you will be required to take on a puppy and have them living in your home for 16-18 months. You must have the time and commitment and be physically able to provide basic obedience training, socialisation and appropriate exercise required for a young dog. To enable you to carry out this role, most equipment will be supplied by the Charity.

The Listening Place is a volunteer-led charity aiming to transform how we support people who feel suicidal.  Our trained volunteers are part of a team delivering face-to-face, confidential, ongoing support to thousands of people each year.  They help create the warm and welcoming environment that encourages people struggling with suicidal thoughts and feelings to talk openly without being judged or given advice.   

Helping Volunteers are responsible for welcoming visitors onto our premises, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere (along with a cup of tea), and supporting our Listening Volunteers to help everything run smoothly.

We are looking for volunteers who have the empathy to greet distressed visitors, the willingness to undertake a variety of admin and other tasks and the resilience to support their team.  Our HVs need to be proactive, self-starters and team players with a basic understanding of IT. We ask for a weekly commitment of four hours for a period of at least six months.

This role is an opportunity to get experience of working in a busy office environment supporting a legal advice service. Through providing vital administrative support, responding to enquiries, arranging client meetings and coordinating interpreters, you will help our expert legal advisers to deliver specialist legal advice and representation to refugees and survivors in complex cases. Through this role, you will get experience of working in a legal advice organisation and an understanding of its administrative and support needs. As the role develops, there may also be the opportunity to gain basic knowledge of Legal Aid procedures and client care.

Main tasks and activities

· Providing general administrative support such as copying, scanning, filing documents, data entry and generating reports from client databases;

· Basic reception duties including answering the phone, taking messages, opening and distributing post, and monitoring our email inboxes;

· Maintaining signposting list and providing information about alternative services where we cannot assist;

· Booking client appointments and interpreters, and maintaining interpreter register;

· Assisting the Legal Administrator and/or Billing Coordinator with preparing files for billing or transfer to another provider.

Skills and experience needed

· Understanding of, and commitment to, the objectives of Asylum Aid;

· A demonstrable empathy for our vulnerable clients, including asylum seekers, refugees and survivors of torture and trafficking;

· Punctual, reliable and self-motivated with a positive, ’can-do’ attitude;

· Basic understanding of the challenges facing our clients and of the UK asylum system

· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

· Experience of working with spreadsheet computer programs (e.g. Excel) and databases

· Confidence with IT skills

· Excellent organisational skills

· Strong communication skills – written, verbally on the phone and face-to-face

IJAD is a dance company working at the intersection of performing arts and technology and we’re looking for volunteers to help us with our upcoming live/hybrid festival at Riverside Studios Hammersmith, OOTFest25 (UN)SEEN. 

About OOTFest: OOTFest is a festival of live/hybrid performances, workshops, expert panel discussions and installations that will take you to unchartered new worlds via digital-immersive technologies. We’re looking for volunteers to help out in-person at Riverside Studios. Each shift will be varied and we’re looking for volunteers to: 

• Take photos and videos for social media, alongside the official photographer
• Create high-quality content for IJAD’s social media channels
• Post content on IJAD’s social media channels throughout the festival
• Assist the festival artists 
• Greet attendees and answer queries
• Direct attendees around the venue
• Help with setting up and packing down

What will be required from you?

Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Support Volunteer for the Surrey Group. As our local group Support Volunteer you’ll help people affected by MS find information about local and national services. This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
