Greater Manchester Youth Federation (“GMYF”) is looking for 5 Part Time Youth Workers who will work with young people at their Partington Youth and Community Centre and Charlestown Youth Centre in Manchester. 

About GMYF 

GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester, to support their aspirations and create opportunities. Our mission is to deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people, volunteers and leaders within our stand-alone centres and to provide support to affiliated clubs. 

GMYF opened our first Youth Centre in Partington in September 2022 and are in the process of opening a new Youth Centre in Charlestown. These Centres provide support for young people with a wide range of activities and make a real difference to the lives of many young people. We also have various current/former playing field sites in the Greater Manchester area and jointly own an Outward Activities Centre in Cumbria – Ormside Mill. We have 27 affiliated clubs who undertake a variety of different activities for young people. GMYF has great ambition to continue to do more for young people, with its own assets and various potential funding opportunities.

The Roles 

The role of the Youth Worker is to be young person centred and to provide a nurturing, safe and supporting environment for the young people, building and maintaining positive relationships with them. You will be predominantly based at Partington Youth and Community Centre working with 9-16 year olds. You will support the Youth Activities Lead in planning and delivering a full programme of activities including Centre-based activities and outdoor trips, as well as supporting our outdoor adventure team with outdoor activities and residentials.

Key areas of focus for the Youth Worker will be: 

• Support the young people: always take a young person-centred approach to all activities. Maintain the ethos of the organisation by providing a nurturing, safe and supporting environment. Build and maintain positive relationships with the young people, recognising their different needs and starting points. Have strong commitment to the values of acceptance and respect within youth and community work. Be a positive role model for the young people. Encourage the young people to take an active role in social action projects youth voice and young leader activities. 

• Assist the Youth Activities Lead: work together with the team in planning and delivery of full programme of activities, including evening youth club sessions. Assist in the development and introduction of additional activities eg twilight sessions, drop ins, youth voice, targeted group work, mentoring. Identify the formal and informal educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of the young people and plan a programme of positive interventions and innovations which enhances the knowledge, awareness and personal development of the young people. Articulate and record young people’s progression in sessional and project recording documentation and provide information for management and funding reporting. ·  

• Residentials: Attend weekend residentials and events at the GMYF’s outdoor pursuits centre and encourage the young people to get involved. Support and assist with the planning and delivery of off-site trips/activities and residentials at various locations.

• Safeguarding: comply with all policies and procedures, with reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety, and equality and diversity. Be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of youth club members is promoted and safeguarded. Report any child protection concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Participate in Safeguarding training. 

• Represent Greater Manchester Youth Federation: Ensure conduct is professional and represents Greater Manchester Youth Federation in a positive manner both to internal and external visitors, working with a wide range of both local partners and community organisations. 

• Continued Personal Development: Commit to your own training and development, accessing available training including youth work specific courses e.g. National Youth Agency courses. Funding and support is available from GMYF to assist your continued development.

About You  

We are looking for candidates who believe in GMYF’s mission and are experienced in working with young people. You should be able to build positive relationships with young people, always taking a young person centred approach. You will have some experience planning and delivering activities, and bring creative and innovative ideas about activities you could run for the young people. You should have strong teamwork and organisational skills, understanding of safeguarding, and willingness to undertake further training.

Salary & Benefits 

£22,369-27,852 FTE depending on experience. NJC Grade 4-5 

Hours: Part-time roles 17.5 hours per week – needs to be flexible, includes evenings and occasional residentials. Flexible working hours will be considered depending on successful candidates.

4. Effective oral and written communication skills, with good IT knowledge to support delivery of service

ACT (or Aldates Community Transformation Initiatives) is a welcoming community that includes many with lived experience of prison, street homelessness or addiction. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Crucial to the success of ACT is the Head of Charity, who provides leadership and vision, ensures that its activities are underpinned by prayer, and that this work remains central to the ministry of St Aldates.

We are currently seeking a Team Lead to head up the delivery of support services for carers across the Southend Borough.  Working 37 hours per week with remote working with the flexibility to work from home and community venues in Southend. 

Tasks will encompass: managing the Carer Support Advisers within the team, providing personalised information and advice to carers, working with carers using a strength-based approach to identify their needs and plan support as required and building effective relationships and partnerships with commissioners, other organisations, partners and key stakeholders to create better outcomes for carers.

The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a pioneering Human Rights charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers who are the survivors of trafficking and torture, including gender-based and ‘honour-based’ violence. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

RSBC are seeking an experienced Habilitation Specialist to join our Services Directorate. In this varied role you’ll have the opportunity to work with children, young people and families directly, as well as developing and delivering training. You’ll be our organisational expert in all things Habilitation and be part of a wider team seeking to ensure blind and partially sighted children and young people can live their life without limits.

Who are we looking for?

Someone with a nationally recognised qualification in habilitation training for children and young people with a visual impairment. You will have significant experience of working with children and young people with vision impairment and additional needs, excellent written and oral skills, and good IT skills. There will be the occasional weekend and evening work for which time off in lieu will be given.

Hybrid with the possibility of a remote base, but regular attendance at the London Office and within London would be required.

Purpose of the post
To lead the development of Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector (VCSE) voice and influence in the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership. To support good population health and health inequality ambitions, specifically relating to healthy minds, children, young people and families and healthy communities.

To lead the development of valuable feedback loops between advocates and the VCSE sector, and to collaborate with the VCSA Insight and Impact Manager to produce insight reports that can be used to further influence system decisions.

To develop and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders operating at grassroots and strategic levels to ensure Health and Social Care services are being designed and commissioned with insight from the VCSE.

Background
This is an exciting new opportunity to develop a strategic approach to VCSE voice and influence across the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership to support good population health and health inequality ambitions, specifically relating to healthy minds, children young prole and families and healthy communities. These are three of the five priorities for our Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership.

Our Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership, in collaboration with Bradford Council and VCSE infrastructure support organisations, have commissioned a new transitional VCSE Activation Contract.

This contract will:

• Strengthen the Sector – through improving the capability of, and address weaknesses in, organisations that directly divert citizens from the statutory health and social care system.
• Activate the Voice and Influence of Citizens and the VCSE Sector to ensure insight and experience of diverse citizens and VCSE organisations inform and support activity which takes pressure off front line health and social care services.
• And will seek out the voices and insight of the most marginalised communities and those of the VCSE organisations that are working with and supporting those groups to achieve the outcome described above. This citizen voice is a key theme to how we make decisions across our place – Bradford District and Craven.

During this coming year we will work together as partners to focus on our shared ambition of people living ‘happy, healthy at home.’ Specifically, taking pressure off front health and care front line services, including children and young people’s services.

Special conditions
As part of this role, you will be required to work and travel across the Bradford District and Craven. While the VCS Alliance supports hybrid working, there is an expectation that you will be based at the office for at least two days per week.

St Hilda’s East has a 135-year history of combating deprivation and social exclusion in East London. As Fundraising Lead (Corporates & Individuals) you will play a vital role in securing support from corporates, local businesses and individuals to help our charity to continue to thrive for a further 135 years!

The role can be worked flexibly over 22.5 hours per week with opportunities to work from home as well as our friendly offices in Shoreditch, London. 25 days holiday and bank holidays (pro rata) plus a pension scheme.

• Identifying new funding opportunities through horizon scanning and prospect research
• Engaging with supporters to develop sponsorship opportunities, in-kind donations and encouraging them to carry out their own fundraising activities on our behalf

Fundraising Officer (Trusts and Foundations)

Location: Home-working or Hybrid, depending on your location

Full Time 37.5 hours a week, 5 days a week, will also consider Part Time 30 hours a week (0.8  FTE), 4 days a week

We are looking for a proactive, highly organised individual to join Young Enterprise as part of our National Fundraising team.

About the role

We invite you to join an impactful and collaborative fundraising team, working in a driven and supportive environment, which places personal development at its core to ensure team members thrive. 

Working with the Senior Relationship Manager and the Philanthropy Team, you will contribute to an annual budget of £4.3m and raise income from Trusts and Foundations and small statutory income streams, utilising your income generating and communication skills. You will also undertake prospect research, as well as developing compelling project updates and reports to inspire supporters.

 We are looking for:

The successful candidate will have a track record of generating income from Trust and Foundations, particularly securing income £10k upwards.

• You’ll be experienced in writing engaging applications and inspiring reports, with a meticulous eye for detail in this, as well as strong grant management and stewardship of supporters.
• You’ll have a successful track record of building strong internal and external relationships, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You’ll demonstrate a solution-focused attitude to problem-solving, monitoring the progress of funded projects in line with funder expectations.
• A tenacious self-starter with a can-do attitude is essential to enthuse existing and prospective supporters and to manage a varied workload of research, fundraising and grant management. 
• A strong team player with the ability to balance and prioritise competing demands in a busy team, you will have excellent organisational skills.
• You’ll be proactive and innovative in your approach to prospecting for new supporters, qualifying them, and building a pipeline.

About us

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.  

Crisis Skylight Oxford is in the Old Fire Station in the centre of the city. It offers one to one coaching support from a team of coaches who can work with people around their housing needs and anything else that will support them to end their homelessness such as mental health and well-being, finances or finding employment. Alongside the coaching we offer practical, creative, and vocational workshops and accredited learning opportunities. The Old Fire Station building also accommodates a range of flexible arts spaces which are run by an independent arts company.   

Salary: £29,505 per annum  

Contract:         5-month fixed term contract – September 2024 to January 2025 

Hours: 21 hours per week, required to be worked over three or four days. To include mornings. Service opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

As our Events Coordinator you will coordinate our Christmas service in Oxford, which includes running a delivery service, holding a breakfast, and holding Health and well-being days pre and post the Christmas period.

A little bit about the role

We seek a proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills to join our Recruitment Team for this 12 month fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate must excel in managing recruitment strategies, building relationships, and analysing data. Enhance our social work program by attracting diverse talent and supporting applicants throughout their journey with dedication and innovation.

The Recruitment team is responsible for sourcing, selecting and hiring for 500 places on Approach Social Work in local authorities across England and we expect c. 10000 applications this year to meet target.

As an attraction officer within the recruitment team, you will be responsible for delivering a targeted recruitment campaign to engage university students, graduates and career changers with Approach Social Work.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Attracting individuals who have the potential to be excellent social workers to the Frontline programme and developing recruitment strategies
• Supporting the selection of applicants and candidate journey
