Age UK has an exciting opportunity to join their fantastic team in Harrogate, North Yorkshire!

We are recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager to support the running of our Harrogate shop (Commercial Street).

Working alongside our Store Manager and committed team of Sales Assistants and volunteers, you will ensure customers and donors are provided with an excellent shop experience, while you motivate, guide and support the team.

To ensure the smooth running of our stores, we will be conducting interviews throughout the advertising process. Early applications are advised.

You will have:

• The ability to work collaboratively and consultatively with the Shop Manager
• Ability to lift and carry bags of stock up to 10kg's.
• Be able to lead a team of volunteers and staff
• Ability to delegate and coach staff
• Excellent customer services skills
• The ability to manage time under conflicting priorities
• IT literacy and numeracy skills

Ideally you will also have:

• The ability to understand and establish successful retail processes
• Ability to understand basic financial reports
• Experience in a customer facing role

About the role

We are recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager to join a busy and creative team in Elephant and Castle. You will join an exciting team and collaborate to build a group of volunteers from all walks of life, raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness. We are bold with a culture of continuous review and improvement, where we try new things, take risks, and sometimes fail. There will be numerous opportunities to improve our team’s effectiveness. Your voice will count!

We also work closely with local artists and universities. We’d love you to bring your own ideas, along with your experience of fashion, retail and current trends, to this role. You will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression through training and development – many of our shop managers were promoted internally. Ensuring our recruitment practices are as equitable as possible is our number one priority so we are looking for someone who advocates for others and challenges injustice.

This is a permanent role. You will be primarily based in the Elephant and Castle shop, but you may be required to travel to other shops within London 1 & 2 on a short-term basis.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have retail experience at a supervisory level alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. You will be keen to build your people management skills including working with Crisis members. We are particularly interested in meeting candidates with an interest or background in visual merchandising, although this is not essential. You will be committed to Crisis’s values and mission to end homelessness.

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Shop Supervisor to make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness. 

As a Shop Supervisor, you will support the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. You will work towards ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.

This is a unique retail opportunity where you will also be involved in delivering on the job training for Crisis members, supporting them to gain the skills and confidence needed in the workplace. You will work collaboratively with your team and will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression.

This is an opportunity for a commercially aware, part-time Shop Manager to join our retail team. Working in our popular seaside town centre Cromer Shop, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the shop, including supervising a small team of staff and volunteers and making the most of donated items.

As a local cancer charity, Big C are dedicated to supporting anyone affected by cancer in Norfolk and neighbouring counties whilst working with key partners in research and healthcare to improve future outcomes.

Big C has raised over £40 million since the charity was founded in 1980; £20 million in the past seven years alone. On average, £3 million is raised each year by Big C’s loyal supporters. Income is also generated via our Big C charity shops across the region.

About the role

If you have experience in retail, are able to supervise a small team and are looking to make a difference this could be ideal for you. The kindness of people is the only way that we can make a difference in the local community, and you can help us achieve this through being resourceful and responsive to the needs of volunteers and customers with the support of two part-time Assistant Shop Managers.

The working hours are 28 hours per week to be worked flexibly over 4​ days including weekends. The salary is £17,845.18 to £20,118.17 (£22,306.47 to £25,147.71 full time equivalent).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team. Your role will be to provide high quality support for children with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex therapeutic, medical and health needs, placing their quality of life at the centre of what we do. Under direction from the teacher, and with support from the class team, you will be responsible for the development and education of all pupils in your allocated class

You will be a natural and enthusiastic leader able to provide challenge and support to a high performing team.

Role Requirements

• To support an integrated and holistic approach to education, health and care.
• To work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher
• To support access to learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities.
• To assist the teacher in providing relevant support for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex therapeutic, medical and health needs.
• To provide a high standard of direct care, including personal care
• This contract is for 48 weeks that the school is open

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

We're looking for an inspirational people person to join us as a Assistant Shop Manager in our St Johns Wood shop. This is an exciting opportunity, and we'd like you to join us to help raise vital funds for homeless and badly housed people.

You will work closely with the Shop Manager to ensure the shop looks welcoming, visually appealing and the team of volunteers are motivated and keen to engage with customers and maximise sales.

Boutique by Shelter is a series of charity shops with interiors designed by Wayne Hemingway bringing a modern, trendy retail space to the high street. Our first boutique shop opened in Finchley Road and due to its success, we have opened a number of new shops across London. We'd like you to join us to help raise vital funds for homeless and badly housed.

About the role

You will assist the Shop Manager in the recruitment, support and development of a strong community focused shop team and empower them to maximise Shelter's income. Representing Shelter in your local community, ensuring that you and your team share your knowledge of Shelter's cause with customers, volunteers, donors and potential Shelter clients will also be important aspects of the role. You will always ensure a safe, clean, bright and happy environment for your team to work in and for your customers to shop in, in turn attracting potential donors and volunteers.

You are a naturally energetic person with an enthusiasm for managing and empowering people. You know how to recruit and develop a team of volunteers, and your extraordinary motivational skills will enable you to inspire your team to increase sales and control costs. We are looking for someone to support our enthusiastic team of shop managers and volunteers whilst developing our retail operations as vibrant hubs in the community. 

We currently have two stores but are looking to develop and expand these so need someone who can manage and support the team, help with expansion and develop relationships with corporate partners and donors.
