The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.
We need volunteers to provide emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending Inquests at Coroners' Court. Our volunteers at court also provide help and assistance to the Coroners' Officers, as and when required.
We are looking for reliable, supportive people with excellent communication skills. A mature and calm attitude is needed in order to be able to talk to people during a sometimes bewildering and emotional experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a period of observations and shadowing, as well as attend a 3 day training course. A minimum commitment of one day (9:00am - 5:00pm) per fortnight is asked for. Training and mentoring is provided and travel expenses to the court are reimbursed.
New volunteers should possess good communication and listening skills and the ability to empathise with people they support.

Finance Controller or Finance Assistant. Finance tasks supporting our growing charity, working with our external Book Keeper, outsourced payroll service, and the Board Treasurer. Tasks include producing monthly reports and stats for the Board, for funders and fundraising bids. Monthly financial reporting including monitoring of income and expenditure, variance analysis and cashflow forecasting, monthly management accounts, and annual financial statements - charity income and expenditure, balance sheet, P&L. Supporting annual budget setting, and assisting when data is required for grant submissions. You will ideally be, or have been, a chartered, AAT, or qualified-by-experience accountant, have Third Sector knowledge, and have an interest and passion for charitable enterprises.
Communications and Media Coordinator or Assistant. We are looking for help to communicate much much better with counselling clients, funders, our own “Counselling Community” of therapists, and the wider voluntary sector across our large area. You’ll be writing news stories, success ‘profiles’, publicising regular and special events, and driving social media and the web - building the brand for Evolve. This job will be great for a pro-active social media “story teller”, looking to build their own profile by ‘owning’ this new area of Evolve’s work. You’ll need to be creative, organised, and literate, with a very self-motivated approach. A background in PR, marketing, social media or news will be great for this role.
Marketing and Fundraising Specialist or Assistant. Help us to grow our client numbers, improve the service, generate a development fund for new innovations, and get our name in front of sponsors, donors, and other charity project funders. In this demanding but hugely rewarding new role you will be in at the beginning - creating campaigns, researching and writing bids, and working with our communications and media volunteer to build and promote compelling fundable projects.
About Evolve Counselling. Evolve Counselling is a long-established charitable social enterprise, providing low cost, affordable or funded mental health counselling to adults in Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. Our counselling community is made up of 50 – 60 qualified self-employed practitioners, working part-time. We deliver talking therapies to adults – online and in person. Our service delivers around 500 counselling sessions per month to a broad range of individuals, many of whom would not otherwise be able to access counselling support. Evolve also provides supervision, reflective practice, critical incident support and mental health awareness and related training to organisations and businesses large and small.

Do you have accounting experience, especially from the charity sector, and want to make a lasting difference to children and young people affected by eczema?
We are looking for a Volunteer Trustee Treasurer to join our team of experienced and new trustees to lead EOS as it moves into an exciting new strategic period.
Personal experience of eczema is not essential however, a commitment to making the lives of families facing this unpredictable condition better is vital.
What will you be doing?
While financial matters are the responsibility of all trustees, we are looking for a Treasurer with an understanding of (preferably charity) accounts and financial risk management to take the lead on behalf of the Board.
As Treasurer you would:
• Monitor the financial administration of the charity through quarterly meetings with senior staff
• Chair the Finance Sub-committee that usually meets every quarter in advance of board meetings
• Report to the Board of Trustees on financial matters
• Support senior staff with the charity’s financial risk-management process
• Act as a signatory for bank matters, including on occasion authorising payments
• Present the annual accounts at the AGM in the Autumn. As a trustee you would be part of the EOS Board who are responsible for the strategic oversight of the organisation, managing risk and overseeing the organisation’s finances.
This is a strategic role with the charity operations being carried out by the staff and volunteer team.
All trustees:
• Attend quarterly online Board Meetings in January, April, July and October. These usually take place on a weekday evening between 7pm and 8:30pm
• Attend the AGM, online, usually in the Autumn during a weekday evening
• Attend the annual away day (in-person, full day during the week). Accomodation & travel expenses can be reimbursed. Where will you be based? Trustee meetings, senior staff meetings and the AGM all take place online via Zoom. Our Away Day is an in-person event usually in Edinburgh.
Skills and Experience
The following would be helpful for the role:
• Experience as a finance professional. A knowledge of charity accounts is an advantage, however please still get in touch if you have an enthusiasm to learn and can draw from sound commercial experience
• Willingness to play an active role in supporting senior staff with financial management
• Ability to think creatively and strategically, exercise independent judgement and work effectively as part of our team of trustees

Out of Pocket Expenses
As this is a voluntary role, you won’t be paid for your time, but we will reimburse all reasonable expenses in line with our Expenses Policy.

To keep everyone safe and supported, all trustees must operate within EOS’s policies and guidelines relevant to their role. In particular, you must agree to and follow the EOS Code of Conduct for Trustees. At the start of every Board Meeting, trustees are also asked to declare any conflicts of interest.

- Preparation for meetings, review of materials, and other engagement as appropriate.

Role Summary
The Safeguarding Officer will work with the People Team Lead and the Trustee Board in ensuring that appropriate arrangements are in place for keeping students, volunteers and team members safe at Roots Academy.
You will promote the safety and welfare of young people involved in Roots Academy’s activities at all times.
Key tasks
- Support with developing, reviewing and implementing Roots Academy’s safeguarding policies and procedures: ensuring all safeguarding issues concerning students and volunteers who take part in Roots Academy’s activities are responded to appropriately.
- Make sure that everyone working or volunteering at Roots Academy, including the board of trustees, understands the safeguarding policy and procedures and knows what to do if they have concerns about a student or volunteer’s welfare.
- Develop and deliver safeguarding training.
- Make sure students and young people who are involved in activities at Roots Academy know who they can talk to if they have a welfare concern and understand what action the organisation will take in response.
- Receive and record information from anyone who has concerns about a student or volunteer who takes part in Roots Academy’s activities.
- Responding to information that may constitute a safeguarding concern, including a concern that an adult involved with Roots Academy may present a risk to children or young people. This includes:
a. assessing and clarifying the information
b. making referrals to statutory organisations as appropriate
c. consulting with and informing the relevant members of the organisation’s management
d. following the organisation’s safeguarding policy and procedures.
- Liaise with, pass on information to and receive information from statutory agencies such as the police. This includes making formal referrals to agencies when necessary.
- Store and retain safeguarding records according to legal requirements and the organisation’s safeguarding policy and procedures.
- Work closely with the board of trustees the People Team Lead to ensure they are kept up to date with safeguarding issues and are fully informed of any concerns about organisational safeguarding practice.
- Report regularly to the board of trustees on issues relating to safeguarding, to ensure that safeguarding is seen as an ongoing priority issue and that safeguarding requirements are being followed at all levels of the organisation.

Duties

Requitements
- Formal legal education or experience in the legal sector
- Note taking experience
- A good knowledge of GDPR

Smile for future generation is a community based development organisation which was established in August 2023 by Tanzania citizens from mainland having the registration number ooNGO/R/ 5028,to influence, advocating for ,building capacity for children and their community so as to explore various opportunities in different sectors. The organisation intends to start implementation of the activities to the regions around lake Victoria.
SMILE FOR FUTURE GENERATION is located in Ilemela district, mwanza city Council in magaka village.
Education sector is essential in realising country vision of industrialization and economy hence improved quality of life.Despite effort of the government of Tanzania in improving education services by ensuring free education to primary and secondary schools, there marginalised and vulnerable children who are not benefiting fully this opportunity. To realize this there are needed efforts from other non state actors to complement governmental efforts in enhancing good educational services for children from vulnerable families especially from rural areas majorof whom are disadvantaged.This will entail working on innovative ideas suitable for respective communities thus ensuring equitable access to education services for school children 6_ 18 years.

About Remap
Across the UK, our 65 local branches help disabled people live more independently. Our network of skilled volunteers responds to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment.
Role Description
The Publicity and Marketing Officer volunteer will raise the awareness of our local branch activities. The successful applicant will create engaging stories and articles about the branch’s work and thereby play an essential role in publicising Surrey Remap work at a local level.
Key Activities and abilities
• Collecting case studies from volunteer engineers and clients
• Writing stories for the local press
• Creating and distributing literature by post and email
• Arranging talks
• Working with Central Office to promote panel activities.
• Confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email
• Confident using social media platforms
• A good communicator with a warm, approachable and confident manner
• Able to follow REMAP policies and procedures
• Able to apply disability, equality, and inclusion practices
• Able to keep people’s personal details safe
• Willing to go through DBS application process

About Remap
We have over 65 local branches, across the UK which help people with a disability to live more independently. Our skilled volunteer engineers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and construct customised equipment free of charge to the disabled.
Role Description
You will be a good communicator and listener, who can take instructions and understand the needs of disabled clients and healthcare professionals. You must have the ability to turn that knowledge into solutions which make life easier for the disabled.
You will therefore be able to design and make pieces of equipment for individuals with specific needs. This ability may have been gained in engineering employment or DIY activities.
Key Activities and Abilities
Working with one or more of these materials: metal, wood, and plastic
To listen well and be a good communicator so that you understand someone’s needs.
You may have the opportunity to work on 3D CAD software, and electronics.
You will need to have your own tools and workshop or access to these.
Set up and install the equipment you have designed and built wherever the patient is living.
Able to drive your own vehicle or have good transport links.
Able to follow Remap policies and procedures
Able to apply disability, equality, and inclusion practices.
Able to keep people’s personal details safely.
You will be expected to attend bi-monthly local branch meetings.
You will have to undergo DBS clearance and be 18+
This is a voluntary role but materials and travel costs are reimbursed.
