About the Role

As the Senior Communications Officer (content) in the Public Engagement Team, you will be passionate about the rights of young people in the UK. Using your creativity and experience in delivering public-facing communications content and fundraising content you will be instrumental in increasing Depaul UK’s income, profile and influence. Your ability to meaningfully engage and involve young people, staff and volunteers will ensure that their voices are heard and amplified through Depaul UK’s communications and fundraising activity.

You will lead the delivery of communications and fundraising content that increases brand awareness and engages our target audiences to support Depaul UK as donors or in other ways support the organisation. We will expect you to ensure that your content and brand awareness raising activity is consistent with Depaul’s values.

Working closely with internal colleagues as well as external designers, filmmakers, photographers and other agencies, you will actively engage with young people in our services and in the communities we work in to capture their experiences, amplify their voices and develop content and material for our communications and fundraising activity.

Key responsibilities include:

● Take a lead role in the delivery of Depaul UK’s creative content production that strengthens our profile and allows us to raise more funds for our work

● Coordinate the Content creation of the whole Fundraising and Engagement team and draw up a Content Creation Strategy in conjunction with colleagues, ensuring you are closely linked to both the needs of Public Engagement, Philanthropy and Partnerships and the wider organisation.

● Work with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver content briefs

● Interview clients and craft compelling written stories to support our messages and campaigns across print and digital platforms.

● Produce video and photography content to support our messages and campaigns across print and digital platforms.

● Work closely with external design agencies and freelancers to support the production of key organisational print and digital materials ensuring high quality production that meet brand guidelines

● Be an advocate for the brand and work with the Head of Communications to ensure brand guidelines are adhered to across all content.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

● Experience in interviewing case studies and creating compelling written and visual stories for a variety of audiences.

● Knowledge of video production and video editing software Premiere Pro

● Experience in using brand guidelines to create content

● Experience working with and managing external partners and freelance photographers, filmmakers and designers

● Experience working with socially excluded or vulnerable people

● Experience in analysing complex information and then summarising and presenting it in easy-to-understand content

● Experience in delivering a wide range of high-quality content

● Excellent project management skills, with an ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver to deadlines

● Willingness to work variable hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

About the Role

The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife.  Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.

Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.

About the role

An exciting role to deliver a tailored package of support that will help Reigate and Banstead Council to increase levels of active travel in the area. You will engage with schools, workplaces, and communities to support and enable more people to walk, wheel, cycle and scoot for local everyday journeys, instead of taking the car. 

As the Project Officer, you will plan and deliver fun, innovative and engaging activities such as mapping safe routes, leading rides and walks, practical skills sessions, competitions, initiatives and information events. The range of activities, events and resources will be adapted to meet the needs of the different audiences and will be designed to be inclusive so as many people as possible can benefit from the project and more local journeys can be travelled actively. 

This role will require you to work with a range of people across local and diverse communities, workplaces and schools in Reigate and Banstead. Creating relationships with key people and employers, understanding the barriers, challenges and opportunities to actively travel. You will be working closely with others to develop a programme of activities.

You will have the opportunity to give people confidence, enthusiasm and skills to travel more actively, through events and community activities. 

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as school or community travel champions, local authority colleagues and other Sustrans delivery officers. 

Within the role, there will be an expectation to capture the impact of the project through completing reporting and monitoring, writing case studies, capturing quotes and photos and contributing to an end of project report. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You should have experience of working with children and young people within a community setting and delivering physical activities to groups. Your knowledge of the local area will help you form relationships with a wide range of organisations, groups, and individuals.

You will be a self-motivated and solution driven individual used to working independently as well as part of a team, with the ability to plan and prioritise your workload.

CEO Opportunity at Mentell

Due to the exponential growth in service demand and revenue streams, Mentell is seeking to recruit a CEO to oversee the charity's short/medium and long-term objectives – primarily to increase the number of men being served by its activities each week.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a small team and possess excellent communication skills to keep the trustee board updated.

Mentell is looking for a proven charity leader with a can-do attitude who wants to work within a dynamic and ever-changing funding landscape with the imagination and willingness to hold the vision for the charity and keep the organisation accountable to its mission.

The role requires the successful candidate to combine providing effective strategic leadership with a willingness to get their hands dirty and engage with various day-to-day tasks. At the heart of the CEO’s role will be overseeing the delivery of all Mentell programmes, including its weekly in-person and online groups and its community activities and awareness raising – all in line with the charity’s strategic aim of increasing the number of men being served; i.e. ‘Bums on Seats’.

About the Role

Experience in a VCSE leadership position is essential. The role offers an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in a fast-growing organisation with the support and backing of a forward-thinking trustee board. You will ultimately act as the gatekeeper for all new business (bids, tenders, commissioned work) and work with the Head of Projects & Fundraising to identify and build strong ongoing partner relationships. Therefore, the successful candidate must possess the people skills to build strong connections within the existing team and be able to represent the whole charity when presenting our service.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring a joined-up approach between communities and programme teams leads to the delivery of a seamless journey for men, from initial awareness of their mental health needs to attendance at a circle, whether online or in-person.
• Develop, implement and continually appraise the plan for ongoing service growth – geographically and through pursuing and building new partnerships.
• Ensure that raising awareness of issues relating to men’s mental health remains a golden thread running through the charity’s entire work and communications, irrespective of whether it results in men accessing Mentell’s services or those of another organisation.
• Work with the Head of Projects & Fundraising and Community Manager to ensure a pipeline of funding from grants, philanthropy, donors and community fundraising.
• Oversee and increase the impact of effective and innovative communications via website, social media and hard-copy promotional materials.
• Take responsibility for all aspects of charity and other statutory compliance.

What We’re Looking For

• Outstanding leadership skills proven within a charitable context.
• Demonstrable ability to develop and establish new organisational processes and frameworks.
• Demonstrable track record in supporting a strategic approach to fundraising, including the production of grant applications, personal/community fundraising and building effective relationships with key funders.

The Role

The CEO will be accountable to the Board of Trustees for the overall strategic management, leadership, and development of BCD and achievement of the overall strategic objectives. Duties will include:

• Representing BCD as an active member of the Leeds Domestic Violence Service (LDVS) strategic group and support the LDVS operational management team.

Many children fall behind with reading simply because they lack the opportunity to practise: we work to ensure that every child has 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most. Chapter One’s unique, online, reading support programme pairs struggling 5 to 8 year olds in over 11 areas of the UK with over 3000 volunteers who are recruited from a range of local and national businesses.

We are seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Officer to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and deliver an excellent partner experience. We are looking to recruit a full-time officer to join our team delivering our flagship Pathways to Progress service.  Following incoming referrals, the officer will contact service users to conduct a friendly telephone or video call to complete an assessment of their needs and challenges.  The officer will then draw up action plans to connect the service users to the most appropriate set of service options, dependant on their chosen outcomes.

The officer will need to develop a good understanding of the internal and external service options available, plus have a clear and decisive skill for choosing the most appropriate course of action.  The successful applicant will need to be a confident and comfortable communicator, with a patient and understanding personality.

We are seeking a good planner with experience of helping people to identify and reach their chosen outcomes, whilst also contributing to the wider success of an established service with its inherent timeframes and capacities.

The post holder will become an active member of the Charitable Services team, promoting the delivery of life enhancing support options to people with dual sensory loss and/or their carers.  Service users will exhibit varying degrees of sensory loss, from the mild to the more profound.  We are committed to respecting and celebrating the unique personalities and aspirations of each individual service user as we work with them to identify the most empowering bespoke action plan for them.  

The officer will also have responsibility for overseeing the growth of an ongoing project to recruit and support a network of volunteers across the country, who can be co-ordinated to deliver localised marketing activities, such as attending public events on our behalf or dropping leaflets.

The main tasks delivered by the officer will be:

• To work with people with sensory loss to connect them to the services and support options that can best assist them;
• To build a friendly rapport with service users, to build trust so that they respond openly during the assessment conversations;
• To support individuals to engage with the agreed action plan and to help maintain momentum to complete the action plans
• To help individuals to celebrate their progress, to increase their knowledge and to expand their horizons.
• To develop a good understanding of the many internal and external support options available and their potential benefits;
• To develop and co-ordinate a team of volunteers to perform localised outreach activities on our behalf;
• To complete all necessary recording and reporting of service support, using our electronic systems;
• To contribute to the completion of funding reports, case stories, etc. as requested by the service manager;
• Occasionally to represent Deafblind UK at events, within online meetings and forums and to promote the service and generate service user referrals.
• To complete all training and input actively into team meetings, planning discussions and reviews.

Please note that prior experience of working with people with sensory loss is helpful but not essential for this role, as all relevant training will be provided.

The Caerlow Trust is recruiting a Grants Officer to join our small but expanding team based in West London. 

The Trust’s operating principles are rooted in the basic belief that everyone deserves to have access to sufficient resources such that they are not concerned with day-to-day survival. It aims to achieve this by making grants targeting three main pillars of humanitarian relief: hunger, homelessness, and addiction.

The Grants Officer is a new role and will join  at an exciting time, having an important part to play in turning this ambition into reality.

The Grants Officer will provide a range of services that will support the Trust’s grant management cycle including research,  assessment, database management, reporting and evaluation. The Fundraising Officer supports the generation of income, principally for Groundwork activities across the East of England. Working with business development colleagues and delivery staff  you will help to identify income sources, approach funders and partners, develop and write bids, and contribute towards the annual income of the Trust.

In this role, you will monitor the external funding environment to identify suitable sources of charitable trust and foundation funding and tender opportunities for projects and programmes of activity. You will use your communication skills to write high quality, persuasive copy that brings the charities work to life for potential funders, such as charitable trusts, BIG lottery, local authorities and central government.  In return we offer a supportive working environment, lots of variety in your work and the opportunity to develop your skills and professional knowledge.

Ideally, you will have experience of successful grant funding from Trusts, foundations, lottery distributors or similar, together with demonstrable experience of undertaking high quality research.
