We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Programme Coordinator to lead our programme for care leavers in Bolton. The programme funded by The Albert Gubay Foundation is in its second year of providing much needed support for care leavers to aide their transition to adulthood.

The activities provide individuals with opportunities to develop essential life skills, increase their wellbeing and create new support networks.

The programme will help individuals to build new friendships, develop aspirations and gain access to a supportive worker who they can approach for advice and guidance.

We are looking for a Programme Coordinator that can be a flexible and committed team player. In return you will have the chance to have creative ownership of this programme, bringing your own skills and ideas to make it an amazing experience for young people to be involved in.

In this role, you will need to be confident in inspiring and engaging care leavers and be able to develop positive partnerships with various stakeholders.

The main activities delivered through this programme include:

• Life skills workshops such as cooking, budgeting, travel training.
• Creative/outdoor activities such as music, cooking, drama, art, sport etc.
• One-to-one support to provide bespoke guidance so young people can overcome barriers to access education, employment and training opportunities.

A key part of the role will be promoting the programme to stakeholders and working to recruit young people. The successful candidate will integrate themselves within the Bolton Leaving Care Service to ensure we receive referrals for the programme.

Key responsibilities

• To develop effective relationship with care leavers.
• To deliver positive life skills, wellbeing and employability focussed activities enabling young people to develop key skills and experiences.
• To deliver one-to-one sessions with young people to support development and progression towards education, employment and training opportunities.
• To promote the programme to key stakeholders.
• To develop close working relationships with referral agencies such statutory services, voluntary organisations, and colleges.
• To monitor and report on programme outputs and outcomes using GMYN’s programme management database.
• To ensure that all participants and staff are safeguarded and that all activities are delivered safely.
• To effectively project manage the programme, ensuring that all planning, budgeting, recording, and reporting is up to date.
• To ensure that all activities are youth led and youth voice embedded in the programme.
• To conduct administrative tasks related to the role including internal and external communications, programme planning and data inputting.
• To perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities that contribute to the organisations overall aims and objectives.
• To undertake training and development as agreed with line manager.

You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to car that can be used for work purposes. A creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder with have good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also, experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions within the Kent

Growing Younger Team Roles – Mission Enabler (Young Adults)

About the Role

Working under the direction, guidance and support of a manager you will be responsible for a caseload of clients as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service.

Key responsibilities include:

· Manage a caseload of young people needing pre-tenancy support or homeless prevention support to achieve accommodation and well-being outcomes.

Job Title: Senior Supervising Social Worker

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small team of dedicated staff that provide a specialist service to service leavers and their families.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate mentor coordinator to join our mentoring service, with the ability to manage and support SSAFA beneficiaries and volunteer mentors. 

You will act as an operational point of contact for your area of responsibility, coordinating, managing and recording the work of all your volunteer mentors. You will conduct specialist needs assessments for potential beneficiaries, then monitor, support and review the mentoring relationships which will involve regular engagement with the volunteers. You will also be tasked with briefing, presenting, and coordinating the engagement of key stake holders in your area of responsibility.

This role is home based with extensive travel across the area the South East of England.

You will join a small, well-established and dedicated team who together cover the whole of the UK. With regular team meetings and a variety of communication mediums you will be given ongoing support, training and mentoring throughout. We are a remote team and well connected to all colleagues. This supports and drives our determination and success.

About you

We are looking for an exceptional candidate, who thrives on challenge. A determined, highly motivated individual who can build relationships and reputation, and communicate effectively across the region whilst working from home.  To carry out this role successfully you will be able to work as part of a team, whilst being self-motivated to work independently.  Ideally you will have experience of managing a large geographic area. Excellent communication and IT skills and a good understanding of MS Office 365 including databases are a must. Volunteer/ people management would be beneficial whilst a willingness to learn and a passion for making a difference is essential.

Knowledge of the Armed Forces and Ex-Forces community would be an advantage but is not essential.

The role involves liaising with school staff, local partners (including the Military and local businesses) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people and is supported by the Regional Manager, Dorset.

The successful candidate will be based from home with a requirement to travel to partner schools and business sites in and around Dorset. Fuel expenses are paid and travel time is included as part of working hours. Working with secondary schools to provide early support programmes, core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school terms only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed as required.
