Active Communities Network are launching a new project, The ACN Way, which will be delivered across the UK. This project is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund for five years starting October 1st 2024. The project will build a network of 500 groups that are better connected, unified and more vocal with the aim of being actively involved in decision making and are better understood by policy makers and commissioners.

The Regional Network Lead is a new post which will work with an array of Voluntary and Community Sector groups operating in North of England. The post will offer specialist mentoring to organisational leaders and capacity building services to improve the skills, confidence and positioning of an array of youth and community groups who lack a voice as well as supporting connections to others and broader systems.

The project aims to amplify these unheard groups who deliver such vital services. As part of a UK wide team, the post will contribute to working with strategic bodies, elected representatives and funders to create transformative system changes based on our locality and person-centred based approach.  The post holder is expected to provide their specialist support to 20 groups per annum in their region, developing organisational development action plans and leadership development.

Duties and Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with grassroots groups who join the network to ensure they are supported.
• Work alongside each grassroots group to develop tailored organisational development actions plans and leadership development. Working closely with the leadership of the group by providing specialist mentoring to identify areas where organisations can be supported with training and development.
• Organise network events within the region with the aim of expanding the network and connecting groups
• Manage multiple stakeholder relationships within the region with the ability to adapt to meet the needs of the stakeholder.
• Work with the wider UK team and organisational partners to ensure groups are provided with the best support suitable to them.
• Continuously working with local stakeholders to understand changes within the local landscape which might impact on network groups to allow support to be adapted as and when required.

DOTW UK has a small, high-performing and dynamic services team dedicated to delivering high quality, person-centred healthcare in a fast-paced environment, ensuring exceptional personal and team performance.

We are looking for a GP with experience of providing healthcare to excluded groups outside of regular healthcare settings to play a key clinical role in the development and delivery of services that will support equal access to primary medical services for people seeking asylum in contingency accommodation in Northeast London and delivery of primary care within a HIV outreach project. The outreach services will offer initial health and social assessments, urgent care, and will facilitate GP registration and, and support access to wider healthcare and support services within the area through direct referrals and signposting, and coordination with other local services and partners. We also will deliver HIV support and testing services including clinical consultation to those not registered with a GP.

You will lead by example, with your demonstrable experience delivering person-centred, compassionate care to people seeking asylum or other excluded community, as well as deploying your effective advocacy, coordination, and multi-tasking skills. The role requires emotional agility, and resilience, especially when dealing with complex situations such as mental health crises, trafficking, and homelessness, where you will draw on your experience to manage complex situations calmly and compassionately. You will be someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, is committed to high standards of care, and will be able to work productively and constructively within a close-knit team by demonstrating an open and responsive attitude and using your excellent communication skills.

You will have strong IT skills and ideally a driving licence to be able to support us to deliver our services in our dedicated mobile clinic vans. You will have the skills to work independently and manage your own and volunteers' health and safety, sometimes working alone.

We are seeking 2 Specialist ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to join our Advocacy team at Respond. The role includes providing pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people with complex or multiple needs who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging, (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system. The ISVA will work across London to provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support, working in partnership with other London sexual violence support services. 

Our ideal candidate will have a friendly and relational approach to working with clients.  You will have the ability to build trusting relationships, work in an empowering and inclusive way and support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity. You will be a self-motivated individual who will engage with a wider range of people who have experience sexual violence, and other barriers to justice.

The PR and Media Officer is responsible for developing and delivering PR activities to ensure effective communication with stakeholders, media and the public. A primary objective is to establish and raise the profile of KCLSU across media – trade, local and national. 

Working in a small team, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering successful media campaigns and daily management of media enquiries, always in line with KCLSU's strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Raise KCLSU's profile, creating an understanding among key audiences by presenting the Student Union's core messages and services in specialist and mainstream print, broadcast, online and digital media.
2. Develop strong relationships with journalists/press agencies in both mainstream and Higher Education media.
3. Work with student officers and colleagues to achieve high-quality media coverage and public awareness for issues of importance to KCLSU.
4. Support and deliver PR and Media campaigns which align with KCLSU strategy.
5. Collaborate with student newspaper ROAR to promote upcoming events and other relevant KCLSU news.
6. Explore fundraising opportunities through media coverage.
7. Assist the communications team in written and verbal communications.
8. Monitor KCLSU's PR activities with periodic reports to the line manager and Head of Communications and Digital.

Person Specification

As PR & Media Officer, the role holder should be an organised and cool-tempered professional who is able to handle a crisis. They will have a creative mind and excellent communications skills, with experience in public speaking and project management.

About the role:

The Floating Support Worker will specialise in working with women for whom housing and risk of tenancy breakdown is a priority. You will provide specialist housing and domestic abuse support to women aged 18 and over. The accommodation needs of the women you support will require you to advocate and support for each woman efficiently and empathically, whilst liaising with providers and stakeholders to ensure her accommodation needs are met. The role is dynamic and requires the post holder to respond to women with effective crisis intervention, advocacy and support. They will be required to coordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with clients to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness. The post holder will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.

About You:

To be successful as the Housing Floating Support Worker, you will need the below experience and skills:

Solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms, come from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job

A good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities

Skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning

Experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have

An understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children

A good knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation

Other skills and experience:

Good data collection, monitoring and IT skills

A relevant qualification or training, for example in domestic abuse, criminal justice, law, social work, substance misuse or related area

Flexibility to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support

You will work alongside our Head of Fundraising and Operations to ensure the effective delivery of the fundraising strategy to meet ambitious income targets.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.

As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. Our corporate partners have been crucial in enabling our growth and will be crucial to delivering upon the ambition of our 2030 goals. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is an essential role that will make this ambition a reality.

You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. Leading by example you will own a number of our key relationships to drive growth, whilst bringing your experience to bear to coach your team and ensure structures and processes are in place to enable high performance.

Data team: Our friendly and supportive team collaborate both virtually and in-office. We are dedicated to growth, continuous improvement, and practical, realistic delivery.

The four key aspects to the role: 

1. Running Regular Processes - You’ll manage and execute regular data processes that are not yet automated, ensuring high levels of data accuracy
2. Data Diagnostics and Monitoring - You’ll proactively identify and address data quality issues and process mishaps before they affect our supporters and fundraisers
3. User Engagement - You’ll lead the development and delivery of a regular training programme for database users. You’ll tailor the training based on user feedback and provide ongoing support through regular communication with users.
4. First Line Support - You’ll be the first point of call for our service desk, handling ad-hoc user requests, such as processing funds, answering system questions and resolving reconciliation issues. You’ll action simple requests and triage more complex issues via our ticketing system. You’ll support the team (Data Officers, Data Project Lead and Head of Income Data) in their roles.

We are looking for someone with:

• Outstanding attention to detail, coupled with problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Strong communication skills adjusted to the different stakeholders and their needs
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
• Good level of IT literacy and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel e.g. filters, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, IF Formulas

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is a leading professional body for civil engineers. We are committed to engineering a sustainable world through our work in education, standards and influencing policy.

The Role:

We are seeking a Governance Officer to provide efficient and effective support to all Trustee Board and Council related operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of the Institution and the delivery of our objectives.

This is a full-time position, currently hybrid working, and our office is located in Westminster within easy reach of Westminster Tube Station and the overground rail network.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

Customer Focus

· Interact with candidates in producing material for Trustee Board and Council election ballots.

· Assist the Governance Manager in ensuring the smooth running of ICE ballot processes.

· Ensure the accurate production of the annual register of interests.

· Liaise with Trustees and obtain their related party transactions.

· Provide advice on the interpretation of the Royal Charter and By-laws.

· Progress arrangements for the annual Trustee Board Strategy Meeting.

· Assist in developing confidential citations for Honours.

· Provide first-line advice and guidance on Governance enquiries.

· Respond to ad-hoc enquiries from the President, Vice Presidents, Trustees, Council members, and ICE staff.

Operational

· Provide effective committee support to the Trustee Board and Council.

· Manage the procurement of iPads for Trustees and Council members.

· Update and maintain biographical details of Trustees and Council members.

· Support the coordination of the annual review of ICE committees.

· Produce and issue material for the annual Council Calendar and Committee booklet.

· Review and maintain a five-year plan of potential candidates for Honours.

· Support the execution of corporate governance issues and preparation of Royal Charter and By-law changes.

· Support projects to improve or develop the Governance or Administration of the ICE.

Financial

· Monitor and process expense claim forms of Trustees and Council members.

· Monitor costs for the Trustees Annual Strategy meeting.

· Facilitate the registration of new Trustees and Council members on the ICE’s Corporate Travel Portal.

· Seek information on Trustees/Council members annual travel patterns.

What we are looking for:

· Good understanding of committee protocol, understanding of governance and decision-making processes, excellent written and verbal English,

· intermediate user of Microsoft Package, MS Teams and intermediate minute-taking skills.

· Ability to develop good working relationships, particularly with trustees and member volunteers.

· Background in committee practices and processes, including minute writing, managing tasks to meet deadlines and working under own initiative.

· Exposure in a Governance or Secretariat Team, managing data systems, working with senior executives, working on confidential policy matters and understanding technical/scientific/engineering terminology is desirable.

· Excellent time management skills, ability to plan, excellent customer service skills, great communication skills, attention to detail, teamwork, discretion, logical approach, willingness to improve systems and processes..
