We’re recruiting a Senior HR Advisor for a 12-month fixed-term contract, following an internal promotion within our team.
As a Senior HR Advisor, you’ll be the escalation point from our People Operations team and will apply your specialist employee relations knowledge and expertise to provide professional and pragmatic employee relations advice on a range of employee relations (ER) issues, policies and processes.
You’ll pro-actively engage with managers to offer best practice advice on a range of ER case work, spotting and assessing the risks and advising managers on how to mitigate or find resolutions to those risks which are in the best interest for British Heart Foundation (BHF).
You’ll take ownership of your own case work from beginning to end and responsibility for the advisory solutions ensuring best practice timescales are adhered to. You will also ensure any risks or concerns are flagged.
Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office. Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. About you
With a CIPD Level 5 minimum qualification, or equivalent, you'll have extensive HR knowledge and understanding around best practice. You'll also have an up-to-date ER and Employment law knowledge, and understand ACAS code of Practise and be knowledgeable on the Equality Act.
You’ll have substantial experience managing complex casework, including dismissals and discrimination.
You are able to weigh up complex evidence and reach sound conclusions that are fair and reasonable while protecting the business. You have the proven experience of navigating legal complexities and negotiating successful resolutions swiftly.
Ideally, you will have ER specialist experience confidently managing a high volume of cases in a large organisation. Additionally, experience of tribunal case preparation, restructuring, redundancy, and TUPE would be highly advantageous.
A highly effective team player, you’ll have excellent communication skills and be able to build trust and rapport quickly. With strong time management skills, you’ll be resilient and work well under pressure to multiple and conflicting deadlines.
We’re looking for someone with a passion for all things employee relations who will be an ambassador for the People Relations team. Willing to challenge and influence managers, you’ll encourage them to be the decision makers as well as positively challenge the status quo on process, policy and procedure.

As a Housing Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse. Working within a fast-paced team, you will help empower women and ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. You will have your own caseload of survivors who hold social tenancies with local authorities or housing associations, and you will encourage them to engage with our service and ensure they have access to support. You will also co-ordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with domestic abuse survivors to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.
About You:
To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job. You will have a good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities. You will have proven skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning. We will expect that you have experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have and an understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. Lastly you will bring your knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.
With many skills and qualities to add to this role, if you have good IT literacy, data collection and monitoring these skills are maximised in your role. If you have experience or have been trained or are qualified in the fields related to substance misuse, criminal jusice, law, social work or domestic abuse we would love to hear from you.

The Head of Governance and Compliance is looking for a full-time Governance Coordinator to support the Governance Team at KCLSU.
The Governance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Head of Governance and Compliance with the delivery of the KCLSU Governance Strategy. This includes supporting all aspects of corporate governance for KCLSU: in particular assisting with the timely review of policies and procedures; supporting the complaints management and reporting process (non-election); and coordinating our External Speaker processes for our student activity groups. Core Tasks:
Visiting Speakers Responsibility:
Our Governance Coordinator is the key point of contact for all External Speaker bookings by KCLSU student societies and activity groups.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete initial checks, and any required risk assessments, for all external speaker bookings, against the trigger criteria within the policy.
- Coordinate mitigations such as chairing training for events that are high risk.
- Liaise with Kings to enable student groups with external speakers to book rooms for events.
- Organise meetings with student groups to improve awareness, knowledge and understanding of how the KCLSU works to support freedom of speech at King’s.
- Work with the Head of Governance and Compliance on issues arising from External Speaker events or risk assessments.
- Support reviews and provide data for the Trustee Board or Sub-Committees as required.
- Maintain and continue the development of automated recording processes to record, track and analyse trends for visiting speakers.
- Support the Head of Governance and Compliance in developing and delivering student group training and inductions for trustees and staff as required.
- Coordinate the work of the Governance Assistant in liaising with students and societies regarding arrangements for low to medium risk events, where no referrals need to be made for a full, joint risk assessment with King’s.
- Support the joint KCLSU and King’s College London freedom of speech initiatives through the work of the Freedom of Speech Advisory Group (FESAG) (Operations Group), agenda setting and servicing meetings
The post-holders shall also:
- Assist with the planning and scheduling of governance and policy related agenda items for the annual cycle of Board and Sub-Committee meetings;
- Support the governance-related policy review process, including developing new or updated policies, and their effective implementation;

We work closely with Norfolk County Council and the commissioned countywide support service for Carers, Carers Matter Norfolk.
Coproduction is central to everything we do at Carers Voice. Carers are ‘experts’ through their lived experience and Carers Voice works to ensure Carers are able to influence change regarding the services, policies and decisions that affect them and the people they care for. Coproduction is an equal relationship between people who use services and people responsible for services. Decision making is shared in planning, design, delivery and monitoring.
The role will be carried out mainly in weekday office hours and can be flexible to suit the right person. Very occasional evening and weekend work will be required. Main purpose of the role:
We are looking for a Meetings Co-ordinator to join our team.
Are you a great communicator, with first-class organisational skills, and experience of co-ordinating meetings?
Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport, empathise and build trust with Carers from diverse backgrounds.
The Meetings Co-ordinator will lead the co-ordination and development of the five Local Carer Involvement Meetings and be responsible for facilitating/ chairing these meetings. These meetings are an opportunity for Carers to share their experiences and to come together with practitioners to co-produce solutions to gaps in support. The role involves supporting a network of unpaid Carers in Norfolk & Waveney. You will be helping Carers to have a say on issues that matter to them; strengthening the ‘Carers Voice.’ You will play a key role in outreach, engagement and advocacy, to ensure that Carers Voices are heard.
Main Relationships:
The role will maintain effective connections with: Carers and Past Carers (individuals and groups), Co-production & Project Officer, Membership & Administration Officer, Adult Social Services Operational Business Lead and integrated health and care practitioners, service providers and user-led groups and VCSE organisations and statutory bodies such as Healthwatch Norfolk.
Tasks:
1. Networks / Community Development
1. Lead (operationally) the coordination and development of five Local Carer Involvement Meetings to give Carers a space to share their voice in the design, delivery and evaluation of services and support which affect them, ensuring Carers feel heard and supported.
2. Chair the five Local Carer Involvement Meetings quarterly, providing organisational and facilitation support, including aspects of administration (setting and distributing notes, agendas and documentation and taking forward and reporting back on actions). Minute taking will be provided by another member of staff whenever possible.
3. Develop the membership of Locality Networks to ensure good representation from Carers, Carer peer support groups, practitioners, service managers and commissioners.
4. Building networks between local services and Carers. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, social services agencies, and community organisations.
5. Provide a quarterly report on the Local Carer Involvement Meetings to the County Wide Partnership Board and wider Integrated Care System

PIP is a local charity that supports adults with learning disabilities or autism to achieve their potential, and to lead lives that are as independent as possible.
Our mission is to empower adults with learning disabilities to achieve their potential. We are a growing, grassroots charity based in West London, and run a number of key services to promote independence and choice for our students.
What You’ll Need
- Working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar client group
- Experience of training, education, or employment support delivery
- Experience of job coaching or supporting work placements
- Understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach
- An understanding of the needs of employers and ability to articulate the benefits of having a diverse workforce to businesses
- Able to establish, develop and maintain constructive and professional relationships, both internal and external, with a wide variety of professional and carers
- Evidenced experience of success in building strong and positive relationships with a variety of people and organisations
What We Offer:
· The salary for this role is circa £29,500 dependent on experience with incremental pay progression.
You'll get 25 days holiday + bank holidays ever year. We're closed for Christmas but the rest of the year you may take leave whenever you wish.
· An extra day of annual leave for each year you've worked with us up to another 5 (30 in total)
· We offer a travel subsidy of up to £7.50 per day to help with the cost of commuting.
· We provide a 4% pension contribution
· Incremental pay progression
· It's an early finish on Fridays - we close once all students leave around 4pm.
· Free Employee Assistance Programme 24/7 including access to counselling
· We offer regular team meals and social-generally during work hours and they are optional.
· We offer a cycle-to-work scheme and other staff discounts
