You will be responsible for:

• Providing administrative and other support to fundraising and communications staff.
• Leading on a small portfolio of major fundraising events and activities. 
• Maintaining regular contact and excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
• Support and/or lead on a range of other fundraising activities, campaigns and events.
• Identifying new events, opportunities and approaches that could raise significant funds for halow.

Role Requirements:

• We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, hard-working, flexible and keen to make a difference. 
• Demonstratable experience of working a fundraising role or comparable role.
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, trustees, donors, and funders.
• Experience of delivering projects and fundraising targets.
• Knowledge of data security whist ensuring databases are kept up to date.

 The individual in this position will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing a variety of events, from large-scale mass participation events such as the Midnight Walk to more intimate special events like galas and Pro-Am golf tournaments. The main objective is to inspire and engage supporters to raise funds and awareness for the hospice’s services across North Yorkshire.

To succeed in this role, the Events Fundraiser must demonstrate strong organizational skills, adaptability, and excellent communication capabilities. They will need to manage all aspects of event planning, including conducting risk assessments, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. In addition, the role requires close collaboration with the Community and Events Manager, other income generation teams, and various stakeholders such as participants, sponsors, and local communities to ensure the successful execution of events.

The position also involves post-event analysis to capture lessons learned, thereby improving future events. Moreover, innovation is highly valued, with an emphasis on developing new event concepts that align with the organization's strategic goals. The role also demands a strong focus on community outreach and supporter engagement, with the aim of deepening relationships and expanding the supporter base.

Befriending Officer

Age UK Birmingham (AUKB) and Age Concern Birmingham (ACB) are working together to reduce loneliness and isolation for the over 50s.

Working with current befriending assets, local communities and the Neighbourhood Network Scheme, the service will identify and address gaps across the city, developing:

· A Befriending Offer Forum

· Creating Friendship Groups

· Reconnecting through short-term on-to-one Befriending Support

Job Purpose

Your role will be to support and strengthen existing befriending services, through the befriending forum.

You will also establish and deliver engaging new friendship groups maximising reach and accessibility across the city. Working with the groups to support them to become self-led, independent, and sustainable.

To work on a one-to-one basis with older adults to assess wellbeing, increase socially activity and signpost to other services as required.

To support and oversee volunteers providing telephone befriending to housebound older people.

 Principal Duties:

· To identify and map existing befriending services and gaps across the city.

· To support ACB Service Manager to establish and operate a Befriending Forum, supporting existing befriending services to maintain and strengthen their befriending offer.

· To establish new friendship groups where there is an unmet need, with the aim of them becoming independent and self-led.

· To risk assess working environments as appropriate in line with Health & Safety policies and procedures.

· To make referrals/signpost to other appropriate agencies and organisations for specialist support based on the individual needs and circumstances.

· To work with ACB Manager to develop and deliver workshops to strengthen befriending services

· To maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring activities, outputs and outcomes are recorded for reporting purposes.

· To report any safeguarding/incidents/accidents to line manager.

As a Property Management Surveyor, you'll be the expert at the forefront, actively resolving landlord-related disputes and maintenance issues. Working arrangements
 
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office (NW1 7AW).

Wintercomfort works with people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or with a history of homelessness. We provide services to aid every stage of recovery - from immediate basic welfare needs to long term help in identifying and dealing with the problems which are undermining their stability, and enabling them to engage with education, employment and specialist health services.  National statistics rank the numbers of rough sleepers in Cambridge within the highest 20 UK local authorities. 

Role Summary

The Women’s Project Supervisor role is to work with and when appropriate deputise for the Services Manager to maintain, develop, and expand services to ensure that Wintercomfort can meet its objectives of supporting vulnerable, homeless or at risk of homelessness women to make positive changes in their lives. In addition to supporting the Services Manager with the day to day running of the centre the role holder will have line management responsibility for the Women’s Project Worker team. 

Experience

• Previous experience of support work that effectively engages individuals with opportunities for self development. 
• Experience of supporting vulnerable people with complex support needs to make positive changes in their lives.
• An understanding of substance misuse, mental health and issues associated with social exclusion.
• Experience of delivering advice, guidance and employability support to individuals.

• Knowledge of local services for homeless and vulnerably housed people.

About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Bedford Mental Health Prevention service for adults which aims to improve people’s mental wellbeing, raise aspirations and enhance confidence.

As Service Coordinator you will be responsible for implementing working recovery models and coordinating the operational plans for the service to ensure that people are able to manage their mental health, move through their recovery journeys and achieve positive outcomes.

Along with coordinating service delivery to meet its aims, objectives and Key Performance Indicators, you will also line manage the service Recovery Workers and lead on recruitment, onboarding and management of volunteers in the service.

Additionally you will conduct assessments of individual’s suitability for the service, leading on more complex cases and guiding people through the range of available interventions that can support them to achieve the outcomes that matter to them.

In addition to managing the day-to-day delivery of the service you will also contribute to the direct provision of the service by leading and facilitating group sessions where needed and by offering informal 1-2-1 mental health and wellbeing support that reduces the chance that people will fall through gaps, be isolated and ensuring the right support and the right time that manages a range of needs.

You will lead opportunities to support events in the community to raise awareness of our services and to build links with local organisations and agencies.

You will need to be empathetic and deliver a person-centred approach in a non-judgemental way, collaborating with people to empower and engage them. SUN facilitators will have regular supervision and support in this role along with appropriate training.

Switchboard’s listening service is available to all LGBTQIA+ communities in the UK. It offers a safe space for anyone to discuss anything, including topics such as sexuality, gender identity, sexual health, and emotional well-being and more. Handling over 17,000 conversations each year, their services continue to be in high demand, with their network of volunteers overing a vital service to people across the country in times of need, but also proving incredible insights into the issues that impact the LGBTQIA+ community the most.

Since 2021 the organisation has been on a journey to establish a staff team to oversee day-to-day operations within the charity. They are now looking to introduce this new role as they grow throughout 2024 to a team of 11.

Prospectus is delighted to be supporting Switchboard as they look to appoint a Volunteer Community Lead to join the organisation.

This position is offered on a full-time, hybrid basis with 2 days working in the London office a week and the remaining flexibly from home.

The role:

This brand-new role sits within the staff team at Switchboard and reports directly to the Head of Volunteering and Training. The post will work closely with key volunteer-led operational teams. As the charity looks to cover its rota more effectively, they are working towards recruiting and training around 100 new volunteers in 2024, taking the total membership to around 350. This number will continue to grow each year, until they are able to handle ALL of the calls, IMs and emails the service receives.

With this in mind, Switchboard wants to ensure they not only retain new volunteers for a number of years, but that each volunteer books regular shifts, are looked after and feel welcomed and an important part of an active, vibrant and inclusive community.

This role reports into the Head of Volunteering and Training and oversees four main areas: volunteer socials, wellbeing initiatives, celebrations and EDI endeavours. This role is key to ensuring the charity retains, nurtures and engages volunteers within Switchboard, and that they create a community of volunteers which reflects the rich diversity of the wider LGBTQIA+ community.

This vital role will entail, delivering a range of in-person and online engagement events throughout the year, managing the Pride activations for 2025 and onwards, overseeing Switchboard’s programme of volunteer celebrations, managing wellbeing initiatives and ensuring Switchboard continues to celebrate being  a rich, diverse and inclusive organisation.

The person:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of organising and producing social and professional events of all shapes and sizes. They will have strong exposure to EDI initiatives and will have a natural interest, or actual experience in promoting wellbeing in the work-place.

This person will have outstanding people skills as the soft skill aspects of this role will be absolutely critical to its success. It will be important that this person demonstrates a broad understanding of the issues and challenges people from the LGBTQIA+ community face in their everyday lives. Similarly, this person will need to appreciate that these issues and challenges will also be faced by Switchboard’s community of volunteers as a result.

You will have extensive experience of organising social gatherings in a professional or volunteering setting, both large and small, collating and analysing data to measure effectiveness & impact, managing third party supplier & contractor relationships, in addition to having a collaborative, communicative & empathetic approach to mobilising networks and driving forward levels of customer service and Volunteer experience.

This person will be comfortable with public speaking and engaging audiences, will be highly organised and above all, fully committed to the work of Switchboard, becoming a natural advocate for the organisation both internally and externally as a result. This person will need to be able to manage all in-person events, wherever they are based, so some locational flexibility will be required.

METRO are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to oversee our Men’s Health peer mentoring programme. Together with our peer mentors, you will be responsible for co-producing a programme of workshops, groups and social activities across our local boroughs, working in partnership with a wide range of external organisations. You will also lead on the recruitment, training and management of a team of fantastic volunteer peer mentors who utilise their own lived experience to support others in the local community.

To meet the needs of the people we support you will need to be a proactive self-starter who is able to work some evenings, weekends and work from a number of our different offices. This position is only open to applicants who identify as male,

Programme

The Support and Advice on Sexual Heath (SASH) programme is a partnership between Turning Point, METRO Charity, London Friend and Naz. We run sexual health support for communities across Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea & Westminster boroughs.

We provide free, non-judgemental and confidential support to residents of Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster areas, with a focus on sexual health, relationships, mental health and wellbeing.

SASH provides a wide range of services, including counselling, life coaching, one-to-one peer mentoring and peer support groups for people seeking support in relation to reproductive health, chemsex recovery, living with HIV and support around sexual orientation and gender identity.

Role

This role will predominantly focus on health inequalities regarding sexual health, mental health and drug and alcohol misuse. The worker will predominantly work with men, but also LGBTQ+ communities, Black and Asian heritage communities, migrant communities, people living with HIV and sex workers.

This role will involve training peer mentors, as well as coordinating the mentoring and group work programme.

Our peer mentoring programme covers a wide range of areas including:

• Improving mental health
• STI and HIV prevention - testing and diagnosis support
• Living with HIV
• Healthy relationships
• Sexuality and gender
• Fertility, reproductive health and parenting
• Sex and pleasure
• Sex work

We are looking for someone to join our small team that has proven experience as an effective and professional fundraiser across a range of charity activities and will be able to demonstrate their success. The idea candidate will have experience in all areas of fundraising, from event and challenge management, relationship, and partner building, to recruitment and volunteer management.

We are looking for someone flexible, who thrives in a busy environment, is a confident communicator and is willing to get stuck in and be a key member of the team.

Experience in the charity sector is essential and the right person must demonstrate the right ethos and understanding of our projects and beneficiaries.

Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

· Keep computer systems running smoothly and ensure users get the maximum benefit from them

· Ownership and experience of payment systems, how they operate etc

· Work closely with CRM independent system

Essential Attributes:

· Experience as a fundraiser in the charity sector

· Direct experience of regularly monitoring KPIs for team activities and key partnerships and projects

· Previous experience of reporting successfully, adhering to all policies and processes including H&S and risk assessment

· Excellent time management and ability to prioritise your workload

· Flexibility in approach to working

· Management experience, including volunteers or freelance staff

· The ability to work well in a team, as well as independently

· Experience of building strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders at all levels

· The ability to communicate effectively and persuasively

· Understanding of basic policies and procedures and act accordingly

· Knowledge of Microsoft 365 programmes

· The ability to react to a problem confidently with excellent listening and questioning skills, whilst offering a solution

· Willing to have a DBS check and complete any relevant training as required

Desirable Attributes:

· Experience in volunteer recruitment, training and retention

· Sales and marketing experience

· Planning and budgeting skills, understandings how to summarise financial information

· Hold a basic knowledge of technology and systems, including sound and AV

About the role:

We are pleased to offer you an exciting opportunity to join our advice team at Citizens Advice Richmond as a Manage Your Money Lead.

In this role you will be working alongside volunteer advisers, providing holistic advice and support to households in financial crisis and provide advice around income maximisation, managing fuel costs including leading on our Energy Advice Project, benefit take-up, applying for grants to help with costs arising from the cost-of-living crisis, reducing indebtedness and budgeting and money management to help to prevent future financial crisis.

The purpose of this role is to reduce the stigma for low-income households around needing and accessing financial support and give people confidence to seek cheaper alternatives to contract costs around, for example, telephone, tv and broadband.

The project includes support on preparing personal income and expenditure details which can be used by residents themselves when negotiating with debtors on repayment plans.

This work will have a focus on community-based outreach work, working alongside organisations such as foodbanks and community centres. It will aim to prevent future or recurring hardship.

This role is funded by City Bridge Foundation.
