This role is responsible for proactively supporting the Finance Manager in the effective management of Frontline’s finance function. It involves the achievement of finance best practices within the day-to-day finance operations that will foster a high-performance culture, empowerment, quality, productivity, and compliance within Frontline.

As part of this role, we will agree to pay for accounting exams as required and you will be entitled for 2 days study leave per exam.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Producing monthly management accounts spreadsheets, assist in accounts variance analysis
• Supporting budget holders in a variety of ways including managing budgets, annual budget setting, preparing reports for funders and external bodies
• Processing journals (accruals, prepayments, accrued and deferred income) and run reports within the accounting system
• Maintaining the nominal ledger and Fixed Assets Register
• Assisting in the preparation of cashflow forecasts, funding application and the annual statutory accounts.
• Undertaking balance sheet reconciliations

A little bit about you 

This role will suit an someone experienced in management or financial accounting, and will support someone who is a part-qualified accountant aiming to complete their studies (although this is not essential). The panel would like to see applicants that are resilient, efficient and can communicate financial information to non-experts in a clear, concise and understandable way.

You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. Enthusiastic, experienced Community Fundraiser to join a successful fundraising team at Royal Papworth Hospital Charity building and developing fundraising relationships in the community, by providing excellent stewardship in order to increase income and deliver the charity's community fundraising strategy.

The successful candidate will represent the Charity in the community and therefore must be confident in communicating with supporters, have excellent inter-personal skills along with strong communication and presentation skills. FoodCycle currently runs 93 projects across the UK providing nutritious meals and social connections for those at risk of food poverty and loneliness. We are seeking a candidate with ambitions to further their grant fundraising experience to join our small but highly successful Fundraising Team.​

You will have experience of securing funding, understand what it takes to write a compelling grant application and appreciate the importance of excellent stewardship. You will work alongside our Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager to secure funding from a portfolio of regional trusts that can support our expanding network of community meal projects.​

Job Profile

The role of the Major Gifts and Philanthropy (MGP) Team Research and Information Manager is a unique role within the sector and CAFOD. Working across MGP (which is made up of Major Donors and Corporate teams) as well as others, such as the Trusts and Foundations Team, it has been developed to meet the growing needs of planning and reporting across MGP and to ensure income growth is focused on raising the funds needed to achieve short and long term organisation priorities.

A pivotal role, the post-holder will hold lead expertise in philanthropy communications at CAFOD, working with other stakeholders to identify funding priorities so MGP can achieve an income forecast of nearly £3.17m in 2024/25.

Managing the Research and Information Executive, the post-holder will make sure that concept notes, proposals and reports are written for the most strategic work, and that MGP relationship managers are informed of projects in need of funding. With oversight of all team donor proposals, reporting and communications, you will ensure they align with CAFOD’s values, especially promoting anti-racist messages in line with our commitment to becoming an anti-racist organisation. 

The post-holder will share key donor trends and work closely with the Philanthropy Manager and Corporate Partnerships Manager to understand their research needs and develop a research strategy. Alongside the Research and Information Executive, you will complete research into top-level prospects and donors. 

This post sits in the MGP team, which is part of the Fundraising and Participation Group. As MGP’s information and prospect research expert, you will work with the Executive team, International Programmes, Integrated Fundraising and Business Innovation team, Data and Insight, Communications and Finance teams as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic leadership of MGP’s funding portfolio & engagement 

• Lead on the implementation of MGP’s funding strategy, maintaining a funding proposal pipeline and tracking where funds have been secured for projects, so it sits as a centre of excellence across CAFOD

• Oversee donor communications for the team, including appeals and cases for support for CAFOD’s most strategic work: unrestricted, and our humanitarian funding initiative, Every Second Counts; ensuring communications comply with anti-racist communication and fundraising principles 

• Build strong relationships with International Programmes staff and facilitate meetings for them to share strategic work with MGP team 

• Identify and influence change, especially relating to donor systems and processes 

• Work with Country teams to source relevant information and write funding proposals and reports for donors

• Mentor MGP relationship managers ensuring they can write their funding materials with success 

• Work with the Head of MGP to continually improve MGP systems and processes, and adapt them where necessary 

Lead prospect and donor research 

• Use expertise to research and evaluate information on donors and prospective donors, focusing on high-value supporters 

• Working with the team leads, identify their research needs and develop and implement a prospect research strategy that meets these 

• Identify key trends relevant to the MGP team - collating and analyse internal and external donor trends and reports and sharing them with the team 

• Work with the Head of MGP and the senior International Programme (IP) team to develop new multi-year initiatives and feasibility/ scoping studies

• Alongside the Philanthropy Manager have an overview of MGP’s supporter Ethical Checks Policy and support ethical checks and policy compliance as needed

• Work across the team to maintain donor profiles, train and guide the team members in writing their profiles, briefing notes and event profiles 

• Work with team leads and external research agencies for profiling and wealth screening audits. 

 Information Management  

• Maintain donor contact details in compliance with GDPR, data protection legislation and fundraising best practices 

• Have an overview of all MGP requests to CAFOD’s Data and Insight team and assist as required in gathering internal donor trends and reports 

• Work with the team to manage systems and records and update information on high-priority donors as required. 

 Budget & Planning 

• Participate in MGP planning and budget activities 

• Analyse income-related reports and share them with the Head of MGP

• Benchmark, monitor, draw upon and share best practices with MGP

 People Management    

• Line Manage, develop and support the Research & Information Executive by championing our purpose and values through building strong and safe working relationships, setting SMART objectives and conducting performance reviews

The main duties of the role

To deliver the IntoUniversity programme effectively to children and young people in different settings, including schools-based workshops, Academic Support sessions and educational visits. This includes positive behaviour management and adherence to the IntoUniversity safeguarding policy.

• To assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS and Mentoring Programmes.
• To assist the IntoUniversity Centre Leader in liaising with schools and other partner bodies, in organising the classroom and resources and in planning project delivery. 
• To update and maintain IntoUniversity displays, publicity and resources.
• To work with the IntoUniversity Centre Leader to recruit children and young people to the programme, including after-school Academic Support and FOCUS Weeks.

Following a merger between St Barnabas Hospices (incorporating St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House) and Martlets, we’ve undertaken a strategic restructure of the Fund-raising and Communications teams and are recruiting to a number of new roles. Job Title: Partnership Events Lead

Reports to: Partnerships Manager

Purpose: This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on the delivery of interactive activities with volunteers from the world of work aimed at schools and young people for key funded partners.  Alongside event facilitation, the role manages and coordinates delivery of activities to meet agreed KPIs, leading on planning, scheduling and delivering various showcase virtual and face-to-face events and activities.

Remuneration: £27 - £30k per annum depending on experience

Job purpose

Working closely with the Partnership Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the delivery of interactive activities aimed at schools and young people under key funded projects for the charity’s Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes. These programmes leverage technology to raise the aspirations and broaden the horizons of children and young people by connecting them to a huge range of volunteers from the world of work via career related learning activities.

The Partnerships team are responsible for relationship management of the key corporate and charity partners for the charity’s Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes. Partners cover a range of sectors and employment areas and our employer partnerships provide partners employees with the opportunity to engage with schools, and reach many children and young people across the UK, both virtually and in-person.

The Partnership Events Lead will be able to manage and coordinate delivery of activities to meet agreed KPIs, leading on planning, scheduling and delivering various showcase virtual and face-to-face events and activities ensuring engagement from schools, employers and volunteers.

Overseeing event delivery – both physical and virtual, this role will have end to end accountability for event management, from coordinating with the schools and volunteers, event briefings, to planning and delivering the event – speaker selection and liaison, school registrations, co-ordinating event logistics and venue management, on-site and virtual delivery, post event feedback and communications etc.

This role will work on partnerships including but are not limited to the Department for Transport’s Inspiring Aviation Campaign, Maritime UK Ambassadors, NHS Ambassadors and events associated with employer partnerships such as Bank of America, Tritax Big Box, Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust and others.

Exact brief to be finalised with the successful candidate but the role will be expected to:

• Work closely with the Partnership Manager role to lead on planning and delivery of any funded projects and activities
• Work to engage employers and volunteers through special activities on funded projects
• Track and report back to Partnership Manager on delivery against agreed targets
• Host and support delivery of CPD sessions, webinars and occasional face to face meetings with stakeholders and schools directly to help them with engaging with these projects and delivering presentations at group meetings and conferences.
• Support development of resources, guidance and tools for employers, volunteers and schools in effectively engaging with projects and programmes
• Responsible for on-site and virtual logistical arrangements as well as audio/visual requirements

Education and Employers is an independent UK based charity launched in 2009 with the vision of “providing children and young people with the inspiration, motivation, knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to help them achieve their potential”. It aims to achieve this by working with schools, employers, the national bodies that represent them and a wide range of other partners including the government and third sector organisations. The charity runs Inspiring the Future, a free service which uses innovative match-making technology to connect volunteers with state schools and colleges, quickly, simply and at scale. Schools can very easily search a massive database of willing volunteers, filter against a wide range of criteria – e.g. subject, sector, career route and send them a message. It enables young people, wherever they live, whichever school they attend, the opportunity to meet people from a wide range of backgrounds doing jobs from across the whole world of work.

Over 90,000 people have already volunteered in the UK - people from all levels: apprentices to CEOs and all sectors: apps designers to zoologists and over 85% of English secondary schools have registered. People can volunteer from an hour a year in a local primary or secondary school to chat informally about their job and career route, take part in career speed networking session, give careers insights, provide mock interviews or feedback on CVs through to serving as a governor or trustee.  There is also the opportunity to link up with schools for workplace visits, job shadowing and mentoring.

Inspiring the Future operates on a technology platform kindly developed in partnership with Deloitte, Salesforce and Ordnance Survey. It allows the charity to run national campaigns others focused on specific geographic areas or economic sectors such as engineering, science, health and arts and culture. The campaigns have secured high profile support across government, business and teacher associations and ongoing corporate partnerships including our lead corporate partner Bank of America.

In partnership with the National Association of Head Teachers the charity has developed a version for primary schools called Primary Futures and over 6,500 primaries have already signed up. The charity runs Inspiring Governance the free governor recruitment and support service. This Department for Education funded service aims to get highly skilled volunteers to serve as governors in some of the most disadvantaged schools in England and in so doing help raise educational achievement.

Since the Charity’s launch it has sought to understand what difference employer engagement in education makes to young people and the economy. It works with academics and researchers from around the world and its own research is regularly cited by government and international organisations like the OECD. The research, which has informed and influenced a range of government policies, shows that employer engagement helps improve social mobility, reduces the likelihood of young people becoming NEET (not in education, employment of training), increases the amount they earn in adult life, helps them make better informed career choices and leads to improvements in educational attainment.

Purpose of the role

Tech Angels (previously Tech to Community Connect) is a service which aims to reduce digital exclusion across Surrey. In recent years, and particularly now in a post-pandemic society, so much connection happens digitally; those without the knowledge or equipment to connect to the internet are at a very high risk of loneliness and isolation, which have a significant negative impact on physical and mental health.

To combat this, we provide devices on long term loan to people who are disabled or living with a health condition, family carers, of older age, or to those with another vulnerability. We also offer a ‘match’ with one of our team of volunteer Tech Angels, to help with digital literacy and confidence.  We also supply sim cards with data to those, who don’t have wi-fi, so that they can be connected. 

The purpose of the role will be to drive and coordinate referrals into and through the service, making sure that people facing digital exclusion get the support they need to get (and stay) connected.  Ultimately the outcomes we are focused on achieving are a reduction in health inequality and an increase in wellbeing.

Main responsibilities

1. Coordination of Tech to Community Connect activity in a defined part of Surrey

2. Communication with people using the service, carers, volunteers, organisations that may have referred to the service and other stakeholders

3. Database management, record keeping and impact measurement following all data security policies

4. On-going support for people using the service who are in a ‘match’ with a volunteer Tech Angel, those waiting for a ‘match’ or those who are accessing another part of the service

5. Writing case studies and sharing the stories of people the service is helping

6. Promoting the service by pro-actively building relationships across organisations and groups in Surrey

7. Working as a team to ensure we are delivering the highest quality of services

Person specification

It is essential that you have:

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a range of formats and with a variety of audiences 

· Advanced organisation and coordination skills

· Good level of computer literacy including all Microsoft packages with experience of using a range of databases

· A high degree of self-motivation and able to work on own initiative

· Live within Surrey and be prepared to travel across the county when required

· The ability to either work from home (with regular work in the community) or be based in our office in Burpham, Surrey

It is desirable that you have:

· Experience and knowledge of working with people who are Disabled, have a long-term health conditions and/or carers

· Experience and/or knowledge of working or volunteering in digital inclusion or technology training

· Confident and persuasive presentation skills

· Experience in group facilitation or training

The Science Council is looking for an Apprenticeships & Employer Engagement Manager to grow and support our network of employer partners and to liaise closely with the work of the Technical Pathways Project Team (TPP) to ensure the embedding of the legacies of the project into core Science Council activity.

The Science Council has delivered the groundbreaking Technical Pathways project since 2020 and has recently secured continued funding from the Gatsby Foundation to the end of 2026. As part of DOTWs Services team, you will support the service by proactively promoting DOTW’s service at individual accommodation sites, providing social assessments for residents and their dependents, escalating health issues of any immediate concern, and support responses to urgent health and/or safeguarding concerns. As part of a culture of best practice, you will ensure adherence to DotW policies and will provide support resolving complex cases, deploying your demonstrative experience delivering person-centred, compassionate care and/or advice and support to people seeking asylum or from other excluded communities.

You will lead by example, demonstrating effective advocacy, coordination, and multi-tasking skills, The role requires emotional agility, and resilience, especially when dealing with complex situations such as mental health crises, trafficking, and homelessness, where you will draw on your experience to manage complex situations calmly and compassionately. You will be someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be able to work productively and constructively within a close-knit team by demonstrating an open and responsive attitude and using your excellent communication skills.

You will have strong IT skills and ideally a driving licence to be able to support us to deliver our services in our dedicated mobile clinic vans. You will have the skills to work independently and manage your own and volunteers' health and safety, sometimes working alone.

You will be supported by an experienced team, regular line management, and clinical supervision. Skills in Basic Life Support, First Aid, safeguarding, mental health management, and trauma-informed approaches will be provided.
