Think Active is the Active Partnership for Coventry, Solihull, and Warwickshire. We are a charity. We are unique to Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire; that is, there is only one of us. We are one of 6 sub-regional partnerships within the West Midlands and one of 42 across England.
Active Partnerships are strategic organisations that recognise activity levels are affected by a complex range of influences and no single organisation or programme create sustainable change at scale.
We are concerned about the negative impact of a sedentary population. We believe in the power of sport and physical activity to transform lives and to keep people living well and we are committed to working collaboratively with partners to create the conditions for active people and places.
On 1 August 2021 Think Active began operating as a Charity, this meant exiting our previous long term hosted arrangements with a Local Authority. On 1 April 2022 we began a 5-year funded role as one of 130 Sport England System Partners required to respond to and deliver against 'Uniting the Movement'. This marked an exciting and challenging time for Think Active. Guided by our current #WeThinkActive strategy that we are committed to delivering and the confirmation of funding meant that we could build a team and an organisation that would continue to provide inclusive, equitable, excellent services to partners and stakeholders in the pursuit of achieving our vision of everyone in Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire to benefit from movement and to enjoy sport and physical activity in safe and thriving communities.
Our overarching goal is to address the issue of inactivity and inequality to realise our ambitious mission of using the power and potential of sport and physical activity to enable future generations to lead healthy and more prosperous lives. Achieving this requires a continuous evolution of our strategic and operational approach.

The advancement of education of the public in the subject of the benefits of sport and physical recreation and the provision of facilities, courses, training programmes, research, and resources to enable, assist and encourage the education of persons in sport and physical activity; and

The advancement of amateur sport and the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation, in particular by the coordination of sporting and physical activities, and/or by the provision of research and/or resources, and/or by the provision of facilities for the playing of sports.

Dorset Museum & Art Gallery (DMAG) is currently looking to recruit a new Trustees to join the Board after election at the AGM at the end of this year. We are looking specifically for Trustees with backgrounds in:

Located in Dorchester, we run a leading Museum & Art Gallery for the Southwest of England – a true cultural beacon.
DMAG is owned and managed by the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society (DNHAS) and was established to collect, preserve, research and exhibit objects relating to the history, natural history and culture of Dorset.
The Board of Trustees has strategic responsibility for the running of the DNHAS and DMAG. The Board deals with all major strategic decisions and governance oversight, and is responsible for the approval of the annual budget and accounts and business plan, ensuring the solvency of the DNHAS and the safety of its assets. The Board works to ensure good governance and management to achieve financial stability, resilience and statutory compliance.

To take an active role in the charity activities. Responsible for governance, safeguarding and strategic direction of the charity with other board members. To work in partnership and to support contractors and volunteers helping them to achieve the aims of the organisation.
- Ensure the charity is run in accordance with the governing document, charity law, company law and that the decisions of the board and any other appropriate legislation or regulations are upheld.

- Attending and actively participating in monthly Zoom board meetings on a Tuesday from 6.30 to 8.30pm and yearly AGM.
- Seek out new opportunities to work with vulnerable residents in Surrey to promote the success of SDAC Ltd.
· Take delegated roles/tasks for the Board as discussed and agreed with the
Chair and report back to the Board.
· Ensure the charity’s confidentiality and safeguarding policies are adhered to with regards to the management of the charity.

Forward Funding is a charity that is currently in the set-up phase - we are looking for 4 additional trustees to join the set-up team.
Forward Funding is a charity that will use funds to aid in funding private diagnosis and support through other charities and organisations to support people with developmental, physical and mental health conditions.
There is a focus for the charity specifically on working with people who are neurodivergent, but the charity will be formed to create a better road for anyone who is struggling to have treatment through the current state funded options.
We are looking for people who have a background in finance, funds, fundraising, mental health and developmental condition support, as well as business and marketing.
We will be looking for people who, over the next 12 months will aid the charity in its formation as well as initial fundraising efforts. We are currently not a registered charity but want to be once we have enough trustees to do so.
Currently, there is a sperate limited company that is set up by one of the people who will be a trustee to raise funds for Forward Funding and directly support people who are neurodivergent within the workplace. This means that the funds from this limited company can be raised without risking the charity itself. This operation is set up to run a retail operation on behalf of the charity (once formed), taking responsibility for all high-risk elements of this type of operation but working closely with the charity both in terms of raising income through the retail operation and ensuring neurodiversity in the workplace, opening opportunities for all.

CHAIR- CPRE HERTFORDSHIRE
CPRE Hertforshire is a well-regarded environmental charity, dedicated to protecting, promoting and enhancing the Hertfordshire countryside.
You will help make a real difference with regard to the issues facing the local countryside. Your ideas and energy will help advocate for positive solutions, promote campaigns, and increase the charity's voice and reach to new audiences.
As Chair you’ll provide leadership to the Board of Trustees, an excellent team with a broad range of experience, and you’ll guide the future strategy, direction and development of the charity.
You will need to live in Hertfordshire and share our passion for the local countryside.
You do not need to have had previous Board experience, but an ability to demonstrate an understanding of charity governance is needed.

Opportunity to join Heard’s Board of Trustees
Would you relish the opportunity to learn how storytelling can drive long-term change in areas including poverty, climate change, trans rights, migration, sexual violence & domestic abuse? We're looking for trustees with legal or HR expertise to help us create impact across all these issues and more. We are looking for candidates who are excited by the opportunity to work with a small and innovative charity and who share our passion for the work. You’d be joining an already incredibly engaged board of a growing organisation.
Role: Trustee, in particular trustees with a legal or HR background.
Remuneration: This is an unpaid role, reasonable out of pocket expenses will be covered.
Duration: Trustees stand for terms of three years, with the chance to be re-elected for a further two consecutive terms of three years.
Time commitment: We estimate the equivalent of 5 hours’ time commitment per quarter. The full Board meets once each quarter for an average of 2 hours.
Location: London, although the majority of our board meetings are hybrid meetings with options to join remotely.

What does the role of Trustee look like?
The role of Trustee is a rewarding, engaging, decision making one where you get to make a real difference, using your skills and experience to help our charity create as much impact as we can.
You will join a dedicated board of trustees who are ultimately responsible for the governance and finances of the charity, working together to make sure that the charity’s resources are used effectively to achieve its aims.
Board meetings allow the trustees to come together to fulfill their legal obligations, as stated in the Memorandum and Articles of Association. We don’t expect you to necessarily be familiar with the ins and outs of these obligations - we will provide you with support and training to navigate your responsibilities. The CEO and Executive Team are responsible for updating and providing the necessary information to the trustees to enable them to make their decisions.
Trustees are not expected to be experts in every aspect of the running of Heard, this is why we have dedicated employees to provide information to the trustees and specialist trustees such as our treasurer who has the financial expertise to guide the trustees when it comes to the accounts.
Our trustees also have the opportunity to sit on sub-committees depending on their areas of interest. Our sub-committees are currently Social Affairs, Finance and Human Resources.

General responsibilities of trustees:
- An understanding of and commitment to the values of Heard, and its vision and mission statements.
- Ensure the operational plan and budget reflect the agreed strategic direction and are appropriate.
- To hold the Chief Executive accountable for the achievement of agreed targets and provide them with regular, constructive feedback on both management and overall achievement.
- Support the CEO when requested, sharing expertise, as a member of a working group or in other appropriate ways.
- Agree the charity’s policies and ensure they will assist in the achievement of the strategic and operational plans.
- Ensure the charity has satisfactory financial control systems and procedures in place, and to review the level of risk annually.
- Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of Trusteeship and to reflect annually on the Board’s performance and your own performance as a Trustee.
- Attend quarterly Board meetings, read relevant papers and be prepared to make a contribution, working with fellow Board members as a team.
- Safeguard Heard’s reputation, and other intangible assets. Be prepared to act as a spokesperson for Heard, attending events as an ambassador for Heard, to network and promote the work of the organisation.
- Assist with fundraising by speaking, networking and otherwise seeking business development opportunities in conjunction with the CEO.

- Practical experience of engaging with strategy and of helping to develop and grow an organisation.
- An understanding of and commitment to the values of Heard, and its vision and mission statements.
- Influencing skills to bring ideas and opinions to staff, stakeholders and fellow trustees.
- Ability to analyse risks and opportunities and take a balanced approach to both.
- A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

- Sound, independent judgment and ability to think creatively.
Desirable:
We are particularly interested in trustees with HR or legal experience.
- Prior experience as a Trustee, including understanding of governance, best practice and the legal and regulatory environment in which charities operate.
- Record of supporting a charity/non-profit organisation, demonstrable understanding of the challenges faced by small charities upscaling their work in the current climate.
- Bringing an established network of contacts who may support our fundraising work.
- Guide and advise other board trustees on the legal requirements for and implications of the charity’s strategic plans
- Experience of performance management, HR/employment law issues and implementing them contextually
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of current developments in HR, staff and development training and recruitment

For 180 years, Reedham Children’s Trust has provided support to the most vulnerable children and young people in Croydon through their schools and communities. Reedham Children’s Trust enables local projects and innovative programmes to tackle the barriers and challenges which too many children and young people in Croydon face daily.
Our Trustees play an important role in helping our charity fulfil its ambitions and aspirations by supporting the strategy, providing robust governance and being ambassadors for our work.
What are we looking for in a new Trustee?
1) We want our Trustees to reflect and understand the communities we serve. Lived experience of the challenges our beneficiaries face is welcomed, as are Trustees who live/work in and around Croydon.
2) We value enthusiasm and commitment as much as experience and professional knowledge. This includes - but is not limited to - individuals early in their careers.
3) We are interested in Trustees who are open to learning as well as to contributing from their place of expertise. In particular, we are interested in candidates who understand Safeguarding.

Commitment Requirements
- ·Attend four regular Board meetings a year in Purley/Croydon
- ·Regular engagement with the charity’s work through visits to projects and active participation in meetings and events.
- ·Act as a critical friend in meetings and whenever a new project or activity begins.
- ·Be an advocate for the charity in your daily life.
This is a non-remunerated positions and all Trustees are asked to give approximately 10 days per annum for meetings, preparation and events.
