Twinkleboost CIO equips new parents with the skills they need to support their child’s communication development, so children can have better outcomes in life. We deliver this support in the non-threatening context of a fun; multi-sensory parent and baby class; led by Speech and Language Therapy Assistants. Each week, parents and carers are taught an evidence-based speech and language strategy which is practiced throughout the session. We focus on providing free sessions to families of children living in disadvantaged areas and children with SEND. For almost a decade, Twinkleboost has operated as a CIC and has recently transitioned to a CIO.
We are looking for a number of trustees to join our board who are able to support the growth of Twinkleboost CIO. We are looking for a trustee with experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Experience of grant writing and bid applications
- Experience of income generation within a charity
- Experience of accounting
- A academic background of Speech and Language Therapy
- Personal experience of facing challenges as a parent
- Those living in the areas Twinkleboost operates: Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester
- Experience of business or management

2025 is a pivotal time for our small, family centred Charity as we move into our 22nd year. This year our Board will be defining our new mission and preparing for implementation. The Muscle Help Foundation (MHF) is a small multi-award winning, family-centred charity, delivering both in-person and virtual interventions and experiences in the UK - these moments-in-time are called Muscle Dreams, designed specifically for children & young people (8-28yrs) with the muscle wasting disease, Muscular Dystrophy (MD).

REQUIREMENTS + KEY CRITERIA
Commitment to the charity’s values, bags of enthusiasm, an understanding and passion for our work, great comms skills and a real desire to want to make a difference to the lives of our vulnerable community. You may have experience of living with muscular dystrophy, other disabilities or life limiting conditions, but this is not essential.
MAIN BOARD MEETINGS + EXPENSES
Trustee Board meetings take place virtually. They are usually 2hrs. Over and above this time commitment, trustees on average, depending on their role, may give additional time in being directly involved in occasional ad projects – MHF Trustees ‘own’ a ‘bucket’, in other words, an area of responsibility like HR, Fundraising, Safeguarding, Marketing, Finance, Digital, Risk or Campaign Management that allows an individual to bring their skills, experience and talents to the charity. Reasonable expenses will be covered.

The Mlambe Project builds school infrastructure in Malawi Africa, one of the poorest countries in the world. Role description
St Albans & District Foodbank is looking for a Trustee. We currently have seven active Trustees and are looking for enthusiastic and talented people to join our Board.
The Foodbank serves the local community providing emergency food for those facing crisis. In the last 12 months we provided over 14,000 food parcels. We distribute food via ten weekly distribution centres that are run around the district by our committed volunteers. We currently have 7 part-time staff and over 130 active volunteers. We are more than a Foodbank as we offer wellbeing, signposting and advocacy services, both directly and in conjunction with other agencies.
Trustee meetings are held 6 times per year, typically on the third Tuesday of alternate months between 4.00 and 6.30pm. Trustees are expected to undertake additional work for the charity between meetings, subject to their availability and skill set, for example representing the Charity at local events or with partnership organisations.
The Trustee role is voluntary and unremunerated, though reasonable expenses can be reimbursed.
Being a Trustee
The challenge of being a Trustee requires, amongst other things:

The Council of Trustees
Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is governed by a council of trustees. The Council is responsible for ensuring effective governance, setting and monitoring the Trust’s strategic direction and policies and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations (including the Charities Act 2011 and Companies Act 2006).
Trustees are required to attend council meetings. There are eight of these per year, although this may be supplemented with additional meetings as needed. Trustees meetings are held on Monday evenings at our HQ at Lower Smite Farm with the option to join online via Zoom. Trustees are also required to attend the Annual General Meeting and meetings of any committees or working groups they are involved in. The Chair, Vice Chair, Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary are elected by the Council annually. Council currently has 16 members, you can read the profiles of current Trustees on our website.
The normal mode of communication for council matters is email and electronic format documents. This enables the effective use of time and resources and minimises our environmental impacts where possible.
The Duties of a Trustee
Trustees are committed to devoting time and effort to use their skills, knowledge and experience to help Worcestershire Wildlife Trust achieve its aims:
- Ensure that the Trust complies with its governing documents, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
- Contribute to the development of the Trust’s strategic plan and review as appropriate.
- Act always in the Trust’s best interests, working with fellow trustees to make balanced and adequately informed decisions, considering the long term as well as the short term.
- Avoid putting oneself in a position where one’s duty to the Trust conflicts with personal interests or loyalty to any other person or body.
- Ensure the financial stability of the organisation, taking special care when investing or borrowing and never over-committing the Trust.
- Ensure the Trust’s assets are only used to support or fulfil its charitable purposes and in accordance with its strategic aims and policies.
- Avoid exposing the Trust’s assets, beneficiaries or reputation to undue risk.
- Use reasonable care and skill, making use of knowledge and experience and taking appropriate advice when necessary.
- Devote enough time, thought and energy to the role, for example by preparing for, attending and actively participating in all trustees’ meetings.
- Comply with statutory accounting and reporting requirements and ensure appropriate accountability to members.

Our activities and the communities we serve across Gwent are diverse and we want our Board to reflect this, and include a diversity of gender, colour, age, ethnicity, physical ability, sexual orientation and religious belief. We particularly need people with specific skills or experience including financial, secretarial, legal, governance, fundraising/marketing, people engagement, business and social partnerships, farming and conservation.
The Board is responsible for governance and the strategic matters facing the Trust, including finance and funding, programme development and HR with operational matters delegated to the CEO and our professional and committed staff team. Our Board meets every two months; a mix of in person and remotely or hybrid. Trustees need to devote some time in advance of these to read relevant papers so they can ask questions and provide strategic direction on plans and issues. In addition there are sub committees where trustees advise staff on key policy and operational matters.
If you join us, you will be part of a friendly and positive group of Trustees, helping to ensure a better future for the wildlife and people of Gwent as well as contribute to the Federation of Wildlife Trusts’ 2030 Strategy.
The Trust is a charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. Trustees must be members of the Trust. Trustee appointments are voluntary and decided by the Trustees following a process outlined in our constitutional document.

- Have fundraising expertise, whether in grant applications, corporate partnerships, or donor engagement.
- Are passionate about supporting the local sight loss community and making a tangible impact.
- Are keen to network, share ideas, and contribute to strategic discussions.

- Attending Board meetings every other month (In Aylesbury).
- Helping to guide the strategic direction of BucksVision.
- Supporting key areas such as fundraising, governance, and service development.
- Using your skills and experience to help improve and strengthen the charity’s work.

St Barnabas Hospice are looking for Trustees!
Our Hospice within Lincolnshire wishes to recruit new members to their Board to of Trustees.
- Do you have a passion and commitment for shaping and influencing palliative and end of life care for to the people of Lincolnshire?

We are looking for new Trustees who understand how health and care services work, or who can contribute their business knowledge on areas including but not limited to finance, marketing, information technology or community engagement. We are also looking to expand our Board awareness of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Environmental Sustainability, and welcome applicants who have an interest in these areas.
If you have not been appointed to a Trustee role before, we encourage you to apply and we will provide mentorship and training to ensure you can fulfil the role.
In addition to expanding our Board of Trustees, we are also looking to appoint a Chairperson Designate. This role will spend a period of time shadowing our current Chairman with a view to taking on the role as Chair of our Board of Trustees in 2026.
