We are looking for trained Clinical Supervisors who have been practising for over 3 years to lead supervision sessions with our volunteer Mentors. We hold these bi-weekly in groups of 3-4 over lunchtime or evenings online.
What will you be doing?
All Been There Mentors who work with our Mentees have monthly group supervision. Usually there are four volunteers in a group. Supervision can take place in person or on zoom.
Commit to supervising a minimum of two groups per month (approx 5 hours in total).
Key Responsibilities:
- To safeguard the wellbeing of the Mentors and ensure that their needs are being addressed.
- To ensure the quality of Mentor support work with Mentees
- To ensure that Mentors are supported and developed, are participating in continued training and are not left to carry difficulties and problems alone.
- To provide regular opportunities for Mentors working with clients to reflect upon both the content and process of their work.

Why am I needed?
Tenovus Cancer Care’s Lovelight special Christmas Concerts are designed to support people affected by cancer, and to give families and friends an opportunity to come together to remember loved ones lost.
We need friendly volunteers to help our event team to ensure that our Lovelight concerts run smoothly. Come along and join us for an evening of music and candlelight. All funds raised from our concerts will go towards our vital support services which exist to give help, hope and a voice to all those affected by cancer.
What will I be doing?
Help with general event set-up

Lighting audience candles for moments of reflection during the concert

How much time do I need to commit?
The date of the concert is 5th December 2024, at St Mary's Nolton, Bridgend. On the day of the concert, we would require volunteers to arrive around 5.30pm and stay until approximately 9.30/10pm.

You will be provided with an event brief prior to the concert and you will be supported by the events team on the day and joined by fellow volunteers.

The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) is looking for enthusiastic volunteer ESOL teachers to support refugees and asylum seekers in in-person classes in Birmingham.
Who we are:
ACAA works to empower and support refugees and asylum seekers by providing vital services that enable successful integration. These include English classes, mentoring, drop-in advice sessions, a legal surgery, employment and education training, counter-extremism workshops and youth and women's engagement services.
Role Summary:
Working as part of a small dynamic ESOL teaching team, responsibility for lesson planning and delivery will be shared between yourself and more experienced teachers. You will have the opportunity to shadow teachers and gain practical teaching experience before leading lessons. This is alongside training sessions for CPD (continued professional development), as you progress in the position you will take on more responsibility and develop your role. Classes meet both in-person and online and all days of the week (except Sunday), meaning you can teach any day that fits your schedule.
Duties will include:
- Preparing and delivering lessons to students of different ages and abilities
- Preparing classroom and coursework materials, homework assignments, and weekly hand-outs
- Assessing students' class work and assignments
- Creating an engaging and fun teaching atmosphere
