As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

• following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Fundraising Volunteer - RSPCA North West London & South Hertfordshire Branch

Could you use your fundraising skills to help animals?

Every year, our Branch rescues, cares for and rehomes hundreds of unwanted, stray and abandoned animals. We also help local pet owners who are struggling to afford essential veterinary treatment, helping animals get the care they need and, wherever possible, stay with the people who love them.

As a local RSPCA branch, we raise the money we need ourselves. Donations, grants, gifts in wills and support from our local community make it possible for us to rescue animals, provide veterinary treatment, care for them while they are with us and find them loving new homes. We're looking for a Fundraising Volunteer to help us find new sources of funding and develop ideas that will bring more support to our work.

This could be a great opportunity if you have fundraising experience and would like to use your skills for something that has a direct local impact. You don't need to be an animal welfare expert. We can tell you all about our work and the difference your fundraising could make. What matters most is that you care about animals, have good ideas and enjoy finding ways to bring people and organisations together to support a cause.

What will you be doing?

There are lots of ways you could get involved, depending on your experience and interests.

You might:

• Research charitable trusts, foundations and other grant-making organisations that could support our work.

• Identify new local and national funding opportunities.

• Help us prepare information and applications for grants and funding bids.

• Research potential corporate, community or other fundraising opportunities.

• Help develop appeals to raise money for specific projects and urgent needs.

• Help us tell the story of what we do and why our work needs support.

• Bring your own fundraising ideas and help turn them into reality.

You don't need to be an expert in all of these areas. We're happy to discuss what you're good at, what interests you and how you'd like to contribute.

Who we're looking for

This role could be a good fit if you have:

• Some previous fundraising experience, whether paid or voluntary.

• An interest in animal welfare and the work we do locally.

• Good written communication skills.

• The ability to research information and identify relevant opportunities.

• Creativity and an ability to think of new ways to generate support.

• The confidence to work independently while keeping in touch with the team.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people who enjoy finding opportunities, making connections and turning good ideas into action.

Flexible volunteering

We understand that volunteers have busy lives, so we're happy to be flexible. Much of this role can be carried out from home, and you can agree your time commitment with us based on your availability and what you would like to get involved in. You're also very welcome to spend time at our Eastcote office if you'd enjoy working alongside our team.

You'll be supported

Although you'll be using your own skills and experience, you won't be left to work things out on your own.

We'll introduce you to our Branch, our work and our priorities and provide the information, guidance and policies you need to carry out your role confidently. You'll have a named contact within the Branch and will be part of our wider team of staff and volunteers.

Adanna Women’s Support Group (AWSG) is offering internship opportunities for motivated Public Health postgraduate students who are passionate about tackling health inequalities and shaping policy change.

AWSG is a Black and Minority Ethnic Women-led organisation working to improve health outcomes for African, Caribbean and Asian communities in London. We campaigns and programmes in mental health and domestic abuse, health inequalities in BAME women, cultural competency, patient advocacy, research, and community engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Research directly with women impacted to gather data and evidence
• Writing position reports and contributing to awareness campaigns
• Contributing to funding proposals and project reports
• Supporting monitoring & evaluation frameworks
• Assisting with policy briefings and consultation responses

You will contribute to work that informs local and national strategies and influences health systems.

We’re Looking For

Role Summary

Shape the UK’s leading independent voice for R&D. CaSE is seeking a Chair who will channel their passion for science, engineering and wider R&D into the role, and bring fresh perspectives to CaSE’s exciting programme of work.

About CaSE

Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE) exists to advocate for UK R&D, for the benefit of lives and livelihoods.

We are a charity and the leading independent voice for UK R&D, supported by a diverse membership of businesses, universities, professional bodies, research charities and individuals. Our members span discovery research, science, engineering and innovation across the public, private, and charitable sectors. 

We collaborate with our members, partners and the public to lend our expert voice to decisions about R&D and develop non-partisan solutions that can help R&D to thrive. 

CaSE is a small organisation that has a big impact. Recent projects include a horizon-scanning exercise to map the trade-offs facing policymakers and R&D organisations, an innovative campaign to raise political awareness of R&D during the Holyrood and Senedd elections, and a landmark national tracker study to monitor public attitude to R&D. CaSE also maintains an active media presence and hosts events, such as our flagship Annual Lecture.

The opportunity

As Chair, you will be tasked with getting the most out of CaSE’s talented Board members and strategically channelling this to support CaSE’s small but highly productive team.

While the role is not remunerated, trustees can claim reasonable travel expenses.

The appointment would run for three years from November 2026 (when the current Chair reaches the end of their term), with the option of a second term. 

The expected time commitment is ~10 hours per month, including quarterly Board meetings, committee work and external representation.

The role

CaSE is entering an exciting new phase, with plans to further expand its impact, profile and income. The Chair leads the Board of Trustees in fulfilling its fiduciary, statutory, strategic, and advocacy responsibilities. 

While candidates will be expected to have a broad range of relevant skills, the deep expertise and commitment of the wider CaSE Board offers space for in-role development to strengthen any specific skills gaps.

Job Description

Kent Sexual Assault & Abuse Service is dedicated to providing safe spaces where survivors of all forms of sexual violence across Kent and Medway, can access the high-quality, trauma-informed, specialist practical and therapeutic support that they need to recover from the impact of sexual violence and rebuild their lives. Having won and mobilised the Police & Crime Commissioner Kent Wide Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA)and Trauma Therapy contracts in April 2026, we are keen to extend our trustee board to ensure high quality, robust governance for our charity and support for the KSAAS team during this time of expansion. 

Key Functions of the Trustee Board Include:

• Ensuring compliance to KSAAS’s governing document (constitution), charity law and any other relevant legislation and regulations.

• Providing robust, evidence based strategic direction to KSAAS in collaboration with KSAAS Management Team, by reviewing the mission, vision, values, goals, targets, performance and the long-term strategy of the charity.

• Ensuring effective and efficient operation of the charity through oversight of the policies, procedures and systems.

• Ensuring that KSAAS pursues its objects as set out in its governing document and applies its resources exclusively to the pursuance of these objects.

• Ensuring the financial stability and accountability of KSAAS and protecting and managing KSAAS’s funds, estate and property.

• Ensuring KSAAS robustly meets all safeguarding requirements.

• Using any specific skills, knowledge or experience to help the Trustee Board to make sound decisions in the best interest of the charity.

Knowledge and Skills

The knowledge and skills that are beneficial to our charity are included in the recruitment pack, but in particular, we are keen to hear from individuals who have experience of business management and development, human resources, finance management, fundraising, marketing and communications, IT, social media, ISVA or counselling work and safeguarding.  

Commitment

The time commitment of a KSAAS trustee is estimated at 2-4 hours per month, comprising:

• Six 2 hour board meetings per year (normally online in the evening, but some in person in Canterbury with prior arrangement)

• Attending the annual general meeting (AGM)

• Time to read and reflect on board papers & AGM Papers

• Attending an annual trustee away day and occasional training sessions

• Attending subcommittees when required

The KSAAS Trustee Board

SarcoidosisUK is looking for a new Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support the next stage
of our development. We are seeking someone with ambition and strategic experience to continue
the amazing support for those affected by sarcoidosis and drive forward progress to future proof
the Charity. This is a significant voluntary role for someone with strong board or senior governance
experience who can lead the charity and act as ambassador.

About us
SarcoidosisUK is a small charity with big ambitions! We want to make a difference to the lives of
those affected by sarcoidosis in the UK by providing information and support, raising awareness
and undertaking research into treatments and a cure. We currently support over 9,000 people
online and have strong relationships with both clinicians and patients.

The role
The Chair provides leadership to the Board of Trustees and works closely with the Senior Executive
to ensure the charity is well-governed, financially sound, and delivering on its charitable
objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
 Leading the Board and helping set the strategic direction of the charity.
 Maintaining a culture that directly reflects the charity’s values and mission.
 Ensuring the Board fulfils its legal, regulatory and compliance responsibilities.
 Setting the agenda for Board meetings and ensuring robust, inclusive decision-making.
 Acting as a critical friend and line manager to the Senior Executive.
 Ensuring performance, risks and finances are monitored effectively.
 Acting as ambassador for the charity.

About you:
We are looking for someone who:
 Has previous Board-level experience (Chair or senior Trustee experience desirable).
 Demonstrates strong leadership, facilitation, and influencing skills.
 Understands the responsibilities and legal duties of charity trustees.
 Is able to commit the time and energy required for the role.
 Shares a passion for our cause and values.
 Ideally has first hand or close family experience of sarcoidosis.

Time commitment
This is a voluntary role.
The Board meets online early evening 10 times a year for no more than 2 hours each time and
meetings are friendly and informal. Trustees have a variety of backgrounds and can contribute
time and expertise outside of meetings to supporting the development of the charity.
Regular contact with the Senior Executive and 2 staff as part of operational oversight. The office is
based in London and we have hybrid working.
