We are looking to recruit an Administration Volunteer for the Wandsworth Group. Our Administration Volunteers are the linchpin for our local groups’ activities. They act as the first point of contact and they make sure all relevant information is circulated to other volunteers and members. And they play an important role in keeping our data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. Most importantly you’ll be help your local group run efficiently, so they can keep providing valuable services to our MS community. 

Time Commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email. Ideally you’ll understand the local area and organisations that provide local services.

This is the vision for our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy. We want to become more diverse, supporting and campaigning on behalf of the whole MS community. We want to make sure everyone feels included in what we do.

To ensure we listen to the MS community and carry their voices through our EDI work we have our EDI reference group. This group of people living with MS helps to support various EDI projects, gives feedback on how we are doing and raises any EDI issues they have experienced.

We meet monthly between 5-6pm. Our meetings are informal and a safe space for people to be able to talk openly and honestly.

We would like to give more people the opportunity to join this group and become a key part of our EDI work.

As a member of this group you will;

• Talk about EDI issues
• Support projects as part of our EDI strategy
• Give your insight and feedback on our EDI work
• Support our research EDI action plan
• Have the opportunity to join our EDI activity group. This staff group is responsible for ensuring we deliver the EDI strategy. We recognise the importance of having the voices of volunteers and people living with MS in this group.

We are looking to recruit a Support Volunteer for the Wandworth Group. As our local group Support Volunteer you’ll help people affected by MS find information about local and national services. That could be helping someone access local information about the care or benefits they need or giving them a hand with a grant application. See a video about one of our Support Volunteers here.

As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. Finance Volunteer

We’re the MS Society – a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers. Our volunteers are a key part of achieving our goals and their support is vital. Join us.

About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Finance Volunteer for our Oxford and District Group. As a Finance Volunteer, you would be joining a coordinating team of volunteers to plan and deliver services and activities to support people locally.

You will maintain and approve income and expenditure records and explain financial information clearly to other group members. You would ensure our financial requirements and policies are followed, and that money is spent in a cost effective manner.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience with a large charity, develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you
