- a Treasurer with financial management experience, preferably in a non-profit
- two members with experiences that will add insight into the challenges families with young children in South Wiltshire face. We welcome interest from all backgrounds/skill sets and are particularly keen to find people with HR experience.

Home-Start South Wiltshire offers support, friendship, and practical help to parents with at least one child under 5 through our network of trained volunteers, who visit families in their homes. We believe children need a happy and secure childhood and that parents play the key role in giving their children a good start in life and helping them achieve their full potential.
We are urgently looking for a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees, oversee our financial affairs and help shape our future growth.
You will ideally (although not necessarily) be:
· A qualified accountant
You will have:
· Proven experience in a financial management role.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely, including to those who may have little or no experience of finances and budgeting.
· Commitment to the values and mission of Home-Start South Wiltshire.
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

Youth Helpers work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units by supporting our Youth Leaders to deliver a sessions across our range of programmes. In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.
You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.

Every donated item that you sort, prepare and sell helps to raise vital funds to support us in our mission to make sure no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our shops are at the heart of local communities – sharing the work of Sense, and helping to secure support for our life changing work.
What your role will involve
There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:
- Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience
- Receiving donated goods from members of the public
- Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
- Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
- Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
- Processing sales and serving on the till
- Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
- Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
- Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
- Following new health, safety and social distancing measures to ensure the safety of everyone

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education.
We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.
Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.
Through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.
We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions. What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter.
Interviews will be held week commencing 17th February and will be extremely accommodating to applicants availability. These will be held at either St John Ambulance Wetgate Road, or alternatively at Newcastle University at the unit nights already in place.
If you are successful you will need to undertake induction & training for role the course will be held on the last weekend of March, 29th>30th March.

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, so most of the care that we provide is funded through fundraising and through our shops.
To help us to continue to provide the care that we do, we are looking for fun and enthusiastic volunteers to join us in our Shirley Shop. Our shops are exciting and dynamic, with no two days being the same. From our walk-in customers, to receiving donations, and everything in between
As a Shop Volunteer with us, you will be:
- Engaging with customers
- Accepting and sorting donated stock
- Pricing donations for sale
- Working on the till
Our shops are open Monday to Saturday (some open on Sundays too) 9am to 5pm. You can volunteer the hours that suit you, but it would be great if you could support in the shop for at least 3 hours a week.

Who we are
MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) is a Christian organisation operating over 115 aircraft in 25+ countries, reaching 1,000 remote destinations. Overcoming derelict roads, natural disasters, and conflict, MAF transports food, medical supplies, aid workers, and missionaries to isolated communities. Each flight delivers practical help, spiritual hope, and physical healing to people for whom flying is a lifeline, not a luxury. MAF is flying for life.
The role
MAF UK is looking to recruit four new trustees which will ensure that MAF UK remains true to its calling and is accountable to its stakeholders for its impact.
Candidates will need significant and extensive senior level experience within a given area of expertise, (Finance, Fundraising, Legal, Missiology) including the ability to inform and review strategy development and thought leadership, be able to advise, shape plans, and offer new ideas and perspectives.
Key Responsibilities
While you will be responsible for championing and maintaining MAF UK’s Christian ethos and values while safeguarding its reputation, you will support in:
- Setting or approving policies, plans and budgets to achieve MAF’s charitable objectives and monitoring performance against them.
- Setting and maintaining a framework of delegation and internal controls.
- Agreeing decisions on matters which might create significant risk to the organisation, financial or otherwise.
- Actively contributing to the strategic direction of the charity and agreeing and evaluating performance.
- Fulfilling the statutory responsibilities of a trustee as set out by the Charity Commission.
- To ensure the solvency, financial resilience, effective administration, and good performance of the organisation
Commitment Requirement
Applicants are usually elected to the Board for an initial three-year term, with the possibility of renewal for two further three year terms and will be required to participate in:
- Three Board meetings each year.
- Annual Board of Trustees awayday each year for prayerful strategizing.
- Membership and attendance of a subcommittee – up to three meetings a year.
- One overseas project visit.
- Ad-hoc advice may be sought between meetings
Essential Qualities
- Significant and extensive senior level experience within a either Finance, Fundraising, Legal, or Missiology
- Committed and mature Christian, able to demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of our Statement of Faith.
- Can demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, reflected in their devotional life and involvement in a Christian community, including an individual commitment to prayer and a willingness to uphold MAF’s local and global ministry in prayer.
- Experience of making decisions in keeping with the teaching and ministry of Jesus.
- Capable of analysing information, thinking creatively and, when necessary, challenging constructively.
- Possess effective communication and presentation skills.
This position has an occupational requirement for the job holder to be a committed Christian who can affirm and adhere to our Statement of Faith.
Terms:
The role of Trustee is unpaid, but all reasonable travel, accommodation, subsistence and childcare expenses will be met.
Trustees are usually appointed for an initial term of three years, which may be renewed for a further two periods of up to three years each.
Applicants must be UK citizens or hold a valid permanent work permit for the UK and not be disqualified from being a trustee according to Charity Commission guidelines.

Our client is working to change the way charities and social enterprises are supported to grow their own income, and how social investment works, so that more organisations can build their resilience over the long term.
Trustees
Unremunerated – reasonable expenses reimbursed
Time Commitment – approx. one day per month
They are at an exciting time of their journey. In their tenth year of operation, they have a proven track record of widening access to finance for smaller charities and social enterprises through their blended finance programmes. These represent around a third of all social investment deals done each year and are heavily skewed to investing in more deprived communities. They are also supporting hundreds of organisations to develop their enterprise activity and overcome barriers to accessing investment, growing the field of enterprise grant making.
The organisation is now looking for new Trustees to join a high-calibre Board. They are particularly interested in candidates who can bring skills/experience in one or more of the following areas;
- Experience of leading a community based charity or social enterprise, the kind of organisation which our client exists to support
- Experience of mainstream investment and fundraising from mainstream investors
- Experience of supporting financial strategy as a non-exec
- Experience of supporting policy and advocacy

Make a difference in your community
As a Community Champion volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in helping us raise funds and awareness to support people with complex disabilities. You’ll engage with individuals, local businesses, and groups to share our mission, organise events, and inspire others to take action. Whether you’re great at public speaking, planning events, or connecting with your community, this role has something for you.
What does the role involve
- Fundraising: Organise and participate in events like bake sales or charity walks to support Sense’s work.
- Community Outreach: Raise awareness about our mission through conversations, presentations, and social media.
- Relationship Building: Develop partnerships with local businesses, groups, and other supporters.
- Public Speaking: Represent Sense at community events, spreading the word about our impact.
- Campaign Promotion: Help spread the word about fundraising initiatives and encourage donations.
- Ambassador Activities: Attend events such as cheque presentations to thank and connect with partners.
Please note, we’re not expecting each volunteer to do each item listed but instead focus on two or three areas. We’ll also look to shape the role around your strengths and skillsets as much as possible.
What We’re Looking For
- Being well-connected in your local area and love engaging with people.
- A strong communicator who enjoys encouraging others to get involved.
- Passionate about helping people with complex disabilities and motivated by our mission.
- Creative, organised, and good at prioritising tasks.
- Due to the nature of the volunteer role, we cannot accept applications for anyone under the age of 18.
