Volunteer Youth Programme Manager Needed!

Urban Youth is a brand new dynamic youth work organisation based in London, dedicated to creating exciting and meaningful opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We aim to build life skills and provide experiences that help young people discover themselves and the world around them. Driven by a passion for making a difference, we offer positive and engaging activities and interventions to help young people reach their full potential.

We need a volunteer to join our Team as our Youth Programme Manager.

As Youth Programme Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and impact of Urban Youth:

Role Summary: The Youth Programme Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, development, and delivery of youth programmes. This role involves managing a team, overseeing programme implementation, and ensuring that all activities align with the organisation’s mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Programme Development and Implementation:

    • Plan, implement, and evaluate youth programmes and activities.
    • Develop project plans and ensure they meet the needs of young people.
    • Ensure programmes are engaging, inclusive, and impactful.
  2. Team Management:

    • Recruit, train, and supervise programme staff and volunteers.
    • Provide regular supervision, support, and professional development opportunities for the team.
  3. Budget and Funding:

    • Manage programme budgets and secure funding.
    • Develop strong relationships with existing and prospective funders.
  4. Community and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, and businesses.
    • Coordinate regular consultations and reviews with stakeholders to identify needs and inform programme development.
  5. Quality Assurance:

    • Develop and implement effective quality assurance mechanisms to ensure continual improvement of programmes.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  6. Strategic Planning:

    • Set the strategic direction of youth programmes in consultation with senior management.
    • Align programme goals with the overall mission and vision of the organisation.
  7. Reporting and Evaluation:

    • Track and report on programme outcomes and impact.
    • Use data to inform programme improvements and demonstrate success to stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Experience in programme development and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Experience in budget management and securing funding.
  • Passion for working with young people and understanding of the challenges they face.
