This is an exciting time of accelerated growth for MediCinema. We are in the process of a strategic expansion, delivering on the ambition to reach more beneficiaries by growing our network of in-hospital services. As part of this we are also developing new partnerships and building new cinemas, with the first one opening at Alder Hey Children's Hospital later this year. Fuelling this growth is our success in fundraising and income generation, with our income reaching a significant £1.3 million in 2023, alongside winning significant long term capital grants.
For this trustee role, we are specifically seeking candidates who have led a charity through a significant period of growth i.e. from small to medium size (c £1.5 - £5m), and are therefore able to bring contemporary knowledge, guidance, and insight, to support us in delivering our ambitious vision. Experience of income growth and diversification, and/ or, the UK Public Health sector is of special interest to us.
· To have a substantial background and proven success as a charity CEO or COO, with a track record of growing organisational impact, income, and profile.
· To bring innovative thinking and energising drive as the designated Charity Trustee, developing the knowledge of MediCinema’s Board and Exec in regard to sector best practice.
· Via your input, to help ensure the value and quality of our initiatives, across all functions as we grow, working closely with the CEO, and Senior Leadership Team.
· Use your experience of leading organisational growth to support MediCinema in developing its culture and systems to enable successful scaling and expansion.
All Trustees of MediCinema
All trustees have the following generic responsibilities.
· Ensuring that the organisation pursues its stated objects (purposes), as defined in its governing document, by developing and agreeing a long-term strategy.
· Ensuring that the organisation complies with its governing document (i.e. its trust deed, constitution or memorandum and articles of association), charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
· Ensuring that the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects (i.e. the charity must not spend money on activities that are not included in its own objects, however worthwhile or charitable those activities are) for the benefit of the public.
· Ensuring that the organisation defines its goals and evaluates performance against agreed targets.
· Safeguarding the good name and values of the Charity.
· Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place.
· Ensuring the financial stability of the organisation, and
· Protecting and managing the property of the charity and ensuring the proper investment of the charity’s funds
Time Commitment
The standard term for a Trustee is 3 years, with a maximum of 9 years (consecutive or non-consecutive). MediCinema's board currently meets five times per year, including one fully online meeting and four hybrid meetings held in a central London location. We strongly prefer that trustees attend at least 50% of the hybrid meetings in person.

The GRAB Trust was established to address waste and recycling issues in Argyll & Bute and this year is celebrating its 25th year! * The promotion of beach cleaning and marine issues through continuing delivery of the Argyll and Bute Beaches and Marine Litter project
* Delivery of community clean-ups around beaches and roadside verges utilising publicly funded litter grants
* The delivery of professional waste, recycling and wider environmental education, awareness and training activities to all sectors of the Argyll and Bute public including schools, households, businesses and visitors
* Fostering, encouraging and supporting local community involvement and participation in a range of sustainable, recycling and environmental projects across Argyll and Bute.
The opportunities:
Traditionally, GRAB trustees have been residents of the Argyll and Bute area but GRAB would also welcome interest from candidates who are from further afield. New trustees are sought who offer insights and experience in:
- Buildings and properties maintenance and development, such as improvements and renewals to drive income from current GRAB buildings and securing new facilities for expansion;
- Any type of recycling programmes and/or environmental protection;
- Fundraising, in particular trusts and foundations or securing governmental/grants funding;
- Stakeholder or partnership development, locally and beyond the Argyll and Bute region

What we are looking for (team needs)
We are looking for a highly motivated Content Creator to play a leading role in creating all social media content for Now-U. Successful applicants will likely be passionate about all things digital and looking to use their skills to help rapidly grow an audience, build a strong brand and drive engagement with social and environmental causes.
We are looking for someone confident in creating appealing visual assets, drafting compelling copy and scheduling regular posts across social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube and TikTok. Professional experience in social media marketing as well as graphic design, video creation and / or copywriting is likely to be beneficial, but is not required. Familiarity with analytics tools in order to assess the success of posts and iterate future posting to improve engagement is also desirable.
It will be a hands-on role working in a small volunteer team on a wide range of charitable campaigns and initiatives. Successful applicants will be comfortable working alone and/or in a team on projects, and willing to support the marketing team with a wider set of activities including developing team strategy and identifying new opportunities.

Role Summary
To bring our vision to life, we are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Digital Media Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality audio and video content that highlights our programs, events, and community. You will play a key role in shaping our digital storytelling, ensuring that our content engages and inspires our audience. You will work closely with the Podcast Lead, Videographer, and other team members to create content that aligns with our brand voice and mission.
Key tasks
- Podcast Production – Oversee planning, execution, and production of high-quality, engaging podcast episodes.
- Videography – Oversee planning, execution, and production of videos for various purposes, including promotional content, event coverage, and educational materials.
- Visual Content Management – Develop a video brand identity that is visually appealing and aligned with Roots Academy’s branding and messaging.
- Content Strategy – Collaborate with the marketing team to develop a content calendar for podcasts and videos.
- Outsourcing – collaborating with external agencies when and if needed to manage video content requirements.

We’re looking for up to three new trustees to join our board from January 2025. Fully remote participation is possible.
We’re particularly interested in people with experience in campaigns and advocacy, policy and the policy-setting process, and comms.
We would also like to find trustees with experience of purpose driven finance, mainstream finance, regulators, and the workings of the financial system.
You'll use your expertise to help the Lab be more effective and impactful, while gaining insights into our work and experience of charity governance and leadership.
During 2025, there may also be an opportunity to take on the role of Chair (or co-Chair) when the current Chair finishes their term.

Main duties of the role
· Hold a portfolio of work across a range of resourcing areas for the charity.
· Collaborate closely with the Head of Resources, providing information, insight, and guidance for the effective delivery of key strategy objectives across finance, HR, Governance, fundraising and IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
· To provide financial information including management accounts with analysis, forecasting and insightful commentary to internal and external stakeholders.
· To support the annual budgeting process.
· To maintain financial procedures and controls.
· To support managers to make decisions based on forecasts and budgets, providing challenge and financial expertise where necessary.
HR
· Undertake and deliver all HR transactional administration including recruitment, selection, appointment, induction and exit interviews.
· Support production of HR reporting to Senior Management Team and Trustees on a regular basis including staff sickness, diversity, complaints, grievances, disciplinary, turn-over, training, appraisal etc.
· Support Head of Resources on welfare support to staff to include internal promotion of staff benefits and liaison with external providers.
Governance
· Support the preparation and circulation of Board meeting papers and packs.
· Provide organisational and administrative support to the Senior Management Team and be the single point of contact for the Trustees.
Other Duties
· Assist as required with the co-ordination of YSS events.
· To take responsibility for keeping own knowledge up to date on relevant legislation and strategies that affect YSS services.
· To understand and actively promote the vision, values and profile of YSS.
· To uphold the highest standards of professionalism at all times, ensuring that EDI principles are adhered to.
· To maintain continuity of cover for holidays and sickness.
· To ensure all work is carried out in a safe and appropriate manner and in accordance with YSS policies and procedures e.g. lone working, health and safety, child and adult protection, risk, confidentiality etc.
· To undertake any other tasks of a similar level of responsibility as requested by the Head of Resources.

About Roots Academy
At Roots Academy, we’ve built a learning experience that’s changing the lives of the ummah’s future leaders, change-makers and visionaries.
Our vision is enabling university students to live God-centred lives, so we teach structured, engaging and transformative face-to-face foundational Islamic education to over 1,800 students across the UK.
Role Summary
As the Fundraising Coordinator, you will be responsible for helping create and implementing strategies to fundraise from both existing and new sources (individuals, mosques, grants etc.) with the aim of securing the long-term financial stability of Roots Academy.
Key tasks
Fundraising Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve income goals.
- Identify potential new funding sources and opportunities for income generation.
Campaign Management:
- Plan and oversee fundraising campaigns and events, including direct appeals, online campaigns, and fundraising events at mosques.
- Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to develop compelling fundraising material.
Proposal Development:
- Research trusts, foundations and corporations for grant opportunities.
- Work with the team to develop proposals, supporting with grant writing when needed.
Budget Oversight:
- Work closely with the finance team to monitor fundraising budgets, expenditure, and financial projections.
Donor Relations:
- Support with Donor Communications in activities related to donor relationship management and stewardship.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in organising fundraising campaigns and events, including digital fundraising strategies
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques, including donor cultivation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate the organisation’s mission and impact to diverse audiences
