Volunteer role: Deputy Chair of the Stationing Committee

The Stationing Committee has oversight of the processes relating to the stationing of ministers within the Methodist Church. The Committee is seeking to nominate to the Methodist Conference, a Deputy Chair. This is open to all lay members of the Methodist Church. If you are skilled at chairing meetings, able to represent the Stationing Committee on a number of bodies, committed to helping the Church station its ministers through wise, fair and transparent processes – then please do offer for this role.

This appointment is subject to a change in Standing Orders regarding the membership of the Stationing Committee, which will be presented to the Methodist Conference in June 2025. The role would begin after the Conference but it is hoped the person would attend meetings of the Stationing Committee in the meantime as an observer.

About Us

The Jawbone Collective is a dynamic arts organisation dedicated to nurturing creative voices across the Wessex Region. Founded in 2022, we've evolved from our initial mission of publishing the poetry collections of under represented groups to becoming a comprehensive creative hub offering multiple platforms for artistic expression. Our initiatives include the upcoming Jawbone Journal - May 2025; developing a Substack community, Jawbone Radio for spoken word performances; plus workshops - in person and online; and mentoring programs. Based in Dorset, we've established strong creative communities in Dorchester and Bridport as well as attracting attendees to real world activites coming from Dorset, Devon, Wiltshire and Somerset, whilst also maintaining an active online presence attracting people from the UK and across the world.

About the role

St Elizabeth’s exists to offer children and young people bespoke education, care and support services that maximise their opportunities to “live life to the full”. We’re looking to recruit knowledgeable and passionate individuals to join our Health & Care Quality Committee to support the board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities. The Health & Care Quality Committee (HCQC) ensures that the charity as a whole has robust systems and processes in place, and is providing high standards of health and care for its service users. They also contribute to key stakeholder accountability. HCQC currently consists of 5 members from various professional backgrounds within health and care. HCQC, along with the Trustee Board and other committees plays a vital role in achieving our mission, ensuring the charity makes the best use of its resources to meet its vision and purpose.

Top Church Training are a registered charity whose overall focus is to support personal development, improve employment prospects, provide practical help through difficult times and offer a gateway through which people can become more involved in community life. ​

We are seeking a Company Secretary who can use their skills and capabilities to assist the Board to operate efficiently and effectively. You will also help the charity to continue providing vital support to those who need it.

What will you be doing?

This role is for someone who is organised and methodical, with an eye for detail. You will take minutes at Board meetings and make sure the charity follows company law. You will also participate fully in Board meetings and play an important part in the strategic direction of the charity.

Together the Trustees are collectively responsible for the governance and management of the Charity, including regulatory compliance. However, the Company Secretary is expected to lead on all aspects of the charities adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, that includes submission of documentation to the appropriate body.

This includes being able to present and explain any requirements to other Trustees, to aid the Board’s understanding and ability to jointly make decisions about changes to the charities governance matters.

The Pirate Castle is looking for a Treasurer.  We are an iconic Camden-based community boating charity, established for 55 years.  Our well-known castle building sits on the banks of the Regent's Canal.  We rent out our community space and offer a range of watersports.  Kayaking and canal boating are core to our work and we strive to tackle disadvantage and support our community by offering subsidised sport and recreation. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiancial analysis or accounting, ideally with a professional accountancy qualification.The role involves working with our employed General Manager and contracted Bookkeeper to monitor and oversee the charity's financies and to report to trustees.  It also involves overseeing the preparation of the annual accounts, working with our retained accountancy firm. 

The charity is in a sound financial position.  As the Treasurer youwill also be involved in the charity's strategic manageent and governance.  We are a friendly board and staff team, looking for a Treasurer with good communication skills.   You can expect about four hours' work per month.

Volunteer Role

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team at the IHF Thailand Center in Chiang Rai. Volunteers will gain invaluable experience in international team leadership, coordination of center activities, and engagement with the local community.
