As our Shop Volunteer, you’re at the heart of making sure our customers have a positive shopping experience. There’s lots of ways of getting involved: making our window displays look great, welcoming customers, helping them with purchases, collecting donations, preparing items for sale, using our till systems to handle payments and, as part of a team, generally helping with the day-to-day running of the shop. In this varied role, you’ll develop your organisation, team working and customer service skills.

 Most importantly you’ll be helping raise funds to support people to live well with MS. What the role involves This role may vary depending on needs and is likely to include:  Welcoming customers and assisting them with purchases

  Receiving and processing money when goods are sold

  Pricing and sorting donations and other goods for sale in line with stock control processes 

 Helping with visual merchandising for our shop windows 

 Supporting housekeeping, such as stock management and tidying We will support you in developing the skills you need for this role, including an induction into all the areas outlined.

They act as the first point of contact and they make sure all relevant information is circulated to other volunteers and members. And they play an important role in keeping our data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. Most importantly you’ll be help your local group run efficiently, so they can keep providing valuable services to our MS community. 

Time Commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

We would like you to get involved in brainstorming new ideas for social media content. You will regularly create, schedule and post compelling content for social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). We would also appreciate the creation and maintenance of a our social media content calendar.

Every year, hundreds of people take part in sporting events to raise much needed funds for our work. Individuals spend countless hours training through snow, rain and sun to complete challenges that support our vital work. 

We aim to help these superstars throughout their training, by giving them a friendly phone call, and this is where you come in.

We know the power of a phone call and how it can help encourage people with their training, reminding them they are not alone and who they are doing it for. We’re looking for volunteers to join us on set days to call our MS Superstars. 

What the role involves: 

• Calling our sporting fundraisers and asking:
• How their training is going
• How their fundraising is going and do they need any advice
• Conveying our thanks 
• Updating an excel spreadsheet on a laptop
• What you need for this role 
• A good phone manner and etiquette 
• Friendly tone of voice and good listening skills
• Happy to read from a script and make notes on a laptop

Purpose of the role

To conduct research and apply for grants and funding that Rebuilding Lives UK are eligible for.  To contribute to fundraising strategies and share and implement fundraising ideas.

What you will be doing

We are looking for fundraiser volunteers to join our team to: 

• Lead research for grants and funding that the charity is eligible for.
• Prepare information about grants, trusts and foundations, advising the CEO and Trustees of the requirements for the applications, the deadlines being worked towards and the final outcomes.
• Write and tailor content for grant applications as required.
• Support with the grant application process and build relationships with trusts and other stakeholders.
• Share ideas for fundraising.

What are we looking for?

• Experience in grant applications is essential
• To understand content, requirements and strategy needed for applications.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
