We are seeking a Treasurer to report to our Chairman and Board of Directors here at WRM. Music making is at the heart of our charity’s objectives, offering a wide rage of inclusive activities for anyone who is interested in getting involved with music, regardless of skills or knowledge.
Whilst this role is voluntary, the position is an integral part of the organisation as the Treasurer is also a Trustee and will participate in all Trustee discussions and decisions. The Board of Trustees meet up to 6 times per year at the Head Office in Trowbridge, but communicate regularly via email at other times. You will ensure that the organisation’s financial practices are reviewed regularly to safeguard its financial position, and have the enthusiasm to move the charity forward.

The Treasurer will support the Board to oversee the financial matters of the charity in line with good practice, the
Constitution and legal requirements, and report to the Board at regular intervals about the financial position of the charity.
The Treasurer will ensure that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and are appropriate

Main responsibilities:

- Advising on the financial implications of the charity’s Strategic Plan.
- Ensuring that the annual accounts are compliant with the current charities’ SORP.
- Ensuring close working relationships with the internal audit team and Committees of the Board.
- Ensuring that sound financial management is maintained and ensuring expenditure is in line with the charity’s objects.
- Acting as a counter signatory on charity cheques and any applications and receipts of funding (if necessary or mandated).
