It is a space where women can focus on their future and we can support our clients in their healing, post abuse.

Our Board of Trustees play a vital role in making sure that WORTH achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management, administration and governance of the charity. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the CEO to enable WORTH to grow and thrive and support more women in need.

Trustee Duties:

• Support and provide advice on WORTH's purpose, vision, goals and activities.
• Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
• Oversee WORTH's financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
• Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.

As a small charity, there will be times when trustees will need to be actively involved beyond Trustee Board meetings. What we are looking for

Previous governance experience is preferable but not essential. The role is open to remote and local applicants.

Terms of office

Time commitment

• Attending a minimum of six trustee board meetings annually, meetings are held remotely via Zoom once every two to three months.
• Attendance at ad hoc trustee meetings in addition to the minimum six annual meetings.

Are you a Clinical Supervisor interested in supporting counsellors and therapists?

Burning Nights CRPS Support has a highly skilled counselling and therapy team who provide counselling and psychotherapy to adults and children who have been affected by a debilitating pain condition, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). This team is expanding rapidly and we are now looking for 2 volunteer Clinical Supervisors to join this team ensuring we can continue the provision of our vital emotional support services to this community. We would ideally like to take on 2 Clinical Supervisor supporting a small group of therapists who specialise in a range of modalities.

All our Counselling and therapy team help to develop our growing mental health support service for patients, families and carers affected by Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). As a volunteer with the CRPS Counselling & Therapy Service, your skills and experience as a Clinical Supervisor will be providing support to therapists who offer therapy to vulnerable individuals, many of whom are isolated and in need of mental health support.

Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, you will provide group and 1-2-1 Supervision support for counsellors or psychotherapists who provide counselling support or specialist services, such as general talking (person centred) therapies, integrative therapists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for CRPS patients, their loved ones and carers. The service currently offers specialist support to anyone over the age of 5 who is affected by CRPS.

Key Tasks and Objectives

• Facilitate Clinical Supervision group sessions on a monthly basis (online) and ideally be able to offer at least 1 or 2 supervisees on 1-2-1 basis mainly trainees

• Administer this supervision from invitation through to record keeping

• Take part in complex case allocation meetings with the Clinical Lead

• Maintain appropriate clinical records of all work and to report, along with any concerns on individuals or their practice to the Clinical Lead

• Commitment to ongoing supervision of supervision practice at Burning Nights CRPS Support as well as engaging in separate own personal supervision as/if appropriate

• Work flexibly as part of a small team as necessary to provide maximum coverage for supervision, such as in the event of emergencies

• Abide by all Burning Nights CRPS Support policies and procedures

• Adhere to BACP, BABCP (or other appropriate therapies governing body) Ethical Framework

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Psychotherapy/Counselling qualification with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a similar field

• Qualification in Clinical Supervision - ideally level 7 or above (could also suit experienced counsellors who require a placement during Clinical Supervision placement, or experienced counsellors wishing to gain experience in supervision)

• Accreditation/registration (or working at the level of or towards this qualification) as a Supervisor with BACP/HCPC/BABCP or equivalent

• Significant proven experience of supervising individual counsellors/psychotherapists from a range of training backgrounds 

• Appropriate and proven clinical experience of working with clients with a range of difficulties including complex medical health issues, loss and bereavement. Ideally experience of working with clients living with or affected by chronic pain or chronic conditions

• Willingness to engage in any Burning Nights CRPS Support training

• Understanding of issues regarding confidentiality and management of risk within a counselling service

• Good administrative skills

• Understanding of the voluntary sector

• Commitment to on-going engagement in personal supervision

• Knowledgeable of and committed to equalities’ provision

Desirable:

• Appropriate and proven clinical experience of working with clients living with or affected by chronic pain or chronic conditions

• Being able to supervise therapists who work in therapy such as CBT, ACT, EMDR etc

• Experience of working within a low-cost / free voluntary sector counselling setting

• Experience of working within the voluntary charity sector

The role of the Puppy Socialiser is to ensure that the Charity’s puppy has a good foundation before it starts its training to become part of one of our services. As a Puppy Socialiser you will be required to take on a puppy and have them living in your home for 16-18 months. You must have the time and commitment and be physically able to provide basic obedience training, socialisation and appropriate exercise required for a young dog. To enable you to carry out this role, most equipment will be supplied by the Charity.

The Finance Trustee will participate in all areas of our governance but take a special interest in the financial  strategy and governance. They will use their sound financial skills and experience to support the Board’s understanding and interpretation and to ensure legislative compliance.  Knowledge of UK wide midwifery provision would also be an advantage but not essential.

The Finance Trustee will support the Board to oversee the financial matters of the charity in line with good practice, the Articles of Association and legal requirements, The Finance Trustee will ensure that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and are appropriate for the charity.

The Finance Trustee should adhere to the role description of a trustee and in addition has the following key responsibilities:

• To support the Board to oversee and to ensure appropriate presentation of budgets, accounts, management accounts and financial statements.

• To ensure appropriate presentation of accounts and records, ensuring that financial resources are spent in accordance with the charity’s policies, good governance, legal and regulatory requirements.

• Liaising, where applicable, with the Chair or other appropriate members of staff and supporting on financial matters

• Supporting the Board to monitor the financial viability of the charity.

• Creating in conjunction with relevant trustees and staff sound financial processes and procedures for the control of the charity’s assets.

• Advising on the financial implications of the charity’s strategic plan.

• Reviewing the annual accounts are, where applicable, liaising with the charity’s external bookkeeper to ensure the accounts are compliant with the current charities’ SORP.

• Ensuring that sound financial management is maintained and ensuring expenditure is in line with the charity’s objects.

• Authorisation of charity expenditure and banking transactions set up on online bank accounts

• Liaison with the fund manager responsible for the charity’s investment portfolio - we are currently working towards an ethical investment portfolio and the Finance Trustee is leading on this

• Oversight of payroll, HMRC reporting and operation of auto-enrolment pension scheme for all members of staff

• The Finance Trustee will need to attend the following meetings (all meetings with the exception of the October AGM/Board meeting are held online)

  2 Board meetings (March and October - which is the AGM/Board meeting)

  1 business meeting held in the summer 

  3 Finance sub committee meetings held approximately 10 days before the Board/Business meetings

  The Finance Trustee also sits on the newly established Fundraising Sub Committee (meeting schedule to be agreed).

About the Role

As a Lead, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening YAA’s donor network, leveraging your expertise, connections, and influence to help us grow our income and increase our impact. Unlike Trustees, the Philanthropic Development Lead will not hold governance responsibilities; instead, they focus solely on supporting fundraising efforts.

Your skills and expertise are what we need to continue to grow. Our volunteers are essential in supporting the growth of our charity and bringing our mission to life.

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead and energise our ‘Friends of YAA’ initiative, engaging donors and stakeholders.

● Cultivate relationships with corporate sponsors, philanthropic foundations, and high-net-worth individuals to secure funding.

● Advocate for YAA’s mission, articulating our strong return on investment and impact to potential supporters.

● Attend networking events and donor engagement opportunities.

● Provide strategic guidance on fundraising approaches, identifying opportunities for sustainable financial growth.

● A charismatic and strategic leader with experience in fundraising, corporate engagement, or development.

Cedarwood Festival is seeking a new Treasurer to join the growing board team for 2025 and beyond. The new member will play a key role in the growth of the organisation and join an experienced team, passionate about the expansion of the gospel and unity in the north of England.

Role Purpose: 

Responsible for the overall financial health and compliance of the organisation. Producing financial reports, developing strategies to support the charity objectives.  Guiding and advising Trustees in making sound business decisions in the long and short-term. 

Role Duties: 

• Monitor the financial operations with event director, such as payroll ifapplicable, invoicing, and other transactions.

• Monitoring and managing cashflow, forecasting, income and expenditure. 

• Oversee outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, andother financial needs as necessary 

• Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas forpotential improvement 

• Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company

• Produce financial reports for Trustees 

• Provide insightful information and expectations to Trustees to aid in long-term andshort-term decision making 

• Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports as appropriate

• Present financial reports to Trustees and stakeholders as relevant and appropriate.

• Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be usedfor financial purposes 

• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company

• Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation. 

Desired Skills & Qualifications: 

Experience in organisational accounting and finance. Over 5 years’ experience in a  similar professional or voluntary finance role; general management and/or leadership  skills and experience; understanding of data privacy standards; good communication  skills, both written and verbal; good understanding of business principles and practices;good attention to detail; organisational skills; good computer skills; integrity, honesty.

Communication & Location: Most communications will take place via zoom and occasionally in person in the north east of England. Desired location would be north east of England to meet with team easily if needed but not essential.

Job Type: Part-time – Volunteer.
