Description
Our Talk and Support team is setting up a monthly telephone group for blind and partially sighted people who are interested in gardening. In the role of facilitator, you will contribute to the group to ensure that all participants feel comfortable and that the group runs smoothly. You will be: Helping to ensure that participants feel comfortable and facilitate discussion. Helping the group participants to feel safe to be in the group and enable them to join in the group discussion. Looking after participant welfare within the group and flagging any welfare or safeguarding concerns to Talk and Support for follow up.

Being a Trustee
IRMO’s Board of Trustees is made up of six to nine Trustees, who work together to ensure the charity is run properly. As a trustee, you will have the opportunity to support IRMO’s strategic development and oversee its finances. Trustees meet every two months (usually online in the evening) and are asked to commit an additional eight to ten hours between meetings to follow up on actions and provide advice and input on strategic documents and areas of work relevant to their areas of expertise.
General Responsibilities
- Stay up to date with and assess the political, economic and social contexts that affect IRMO’s work
- Support the development of and approve IRMO’s key strategic documents
- Annually review and approve IRMO’s budget
- Review, update and approve major policies
- Approve salaries, benefits, terms and conditions for staff
- Ensure that IRMO’s financial structure is adequate for its current needs and long-term strategy
- Ensure that the organisation has the necessary resources in place to meet its long-term goals
- Ensure that the Board of Trustees is adequately informed of the condition of the organisation and its operations
- Ensure that published reports adequately reflect the nature of the services and the financial condition of the organisation
- Approve major actions of the organisation, such as capital expenditure over authorised limits and major changes in activities and services
- Review staff results in relation to IRMO’s aims and objectives, as well as annual and long-term goals
- Appoint, supervise, support, and appraise IRMO’s Director
- Provide candid and constructive criticism, advice, comments and praise
- Ensure that the Director has established appropriate policies to define and identify conflicts of interest throughout the organisation and are administering and enforcing those policies
- Appoint independent examiners/auditors subject to approval by members
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation affecting the organisation

London Marathon Foundation - Trustees
Over the past four decades, the London Marathon Foundation (LMF) has awarded over £100 million to more than 1,500 projects which inspire activity across the UK. That means when people enter an event with London Marathon Events (LME), they are not just benefiting their own health, they are also contributing to the health and wellbeing of the nation.
As the parent organisation, LMF’s Board of Trustees is ultimately responsible for both organisations. With group oversight, the role of the Trustees is to ensure the two entities deliver on their strategies and actions, both independently and collectively, to deliver the biggest joint impact.
We work hard to ensure grants awarded meet our mission and vision with 55 sports and activities receiving funding since 1981, ranging from athletics to archery and swimming to skateboarding.

Overview of the role
We are an exciting team that aim to design and develop fantastic programme for all members of our organisation. We have several ongoing pieces of work and upcoming projects that enable volunteers to get stuck right in and have real impact. You will have a part in designing programme, see it develop and then watch it reach local Scouting.
We will provide support when inducting you into the role, engage you in an exciting project and then help you on your next steps as a volunteer at the end of the project. What would I be doing?
This role will be working as part of the Programme Design Team to facilitate work on one of our short-term projects. You will be joining one of our Project Cohorts. After applying, we will review applicants’ skills and experience, before selecting a group to work on a particular project with set goals.
Our upcoming projects will be aiming to develop our top-quality programme. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in innovative and impactful programme design. Volunteer Counsellor - start September 2024
The placement is for a Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday during school hours.
● This is an opportunity for a counselling student.
● You must be attending counselling training at diploma level or above and be qualified to a Level 3 level in counselling (or equivalent).
● Your training/course must be recognised by the BACP or equivalent body.
● You can provide a ‘fit to practise’ certificate from your training provider.
● You are attending a course that requires personal therapy whilst training.
Placement Requirements
● Good knowledge of and commitment to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (or equivalent professional body’s ethical framework), and the BACP Supplementary Good Practice in Action: 046: Working with Children and Young People.
● You must be able to maintain BACP (or other appropriate professional body) membership throughout the term of the placement.
● You must have your own professional indemnity insurance and you are adequately insured for the duration of your placement.
● You agree to abide by the ethics and policies of the school.
● You have experience of operating clear and effective boundaries within all areas of work.
● You must have a good understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and legal implications of working with children and young people in a school setting.
● You are willing to complete a DBS disclosure form.
● Shirley High will offer group clinical supervision with the school’s Clinical Supervisor in term time. For the school year 2024/2025, there are two groups that will meet every two weeks, either online or face to face in Caterham.
o Group 1 will meet on a Monday from 16:30pm-18:00pm for 1.5 hours.
o Group 2 will meet on a Monday from 16:30pm-18:00pm for 1.5 hours.
Abilities/Skills
● To hold and manage a clinical caseload of at least 3 clients per week and to offer therapeutic sessions of 45 minutes each.
● You are able to provide both short-term and long-term counselling.
● You have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
● Be able to work in a culturally sensitive and inclusive way.
● You have some experience of working with children or young people, even if it is unrelated to counselling.
● To see clients on a weekly basis for a duration of 6-8 sessions (or longer based on clinical need and in agreement with the Clinical Supervisor and Lead Counsellor).
● To ensure the safety of self and client within the counselling setting.
● To identify any clients that may require referral to other specialist services in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor, Lead Counsellor and the school.
● To ensure that all clients are treated with dignity and respect.
● To maintain appropriate records in line with the counselling service requirements.
● To understand and adhere to the school’s child protection policy.
● To be responsible for identifying any shortfalls in knowledge surrounding working with children and young people and attend training as appropriate.
Commitment
● You must be able to provide a minimum of three direct contact counselling hours per week (sessions last for 45 minutes).
● You are intending to work with the counselling service for ideally a full academic year but at least two terms. If you would like to leave early, you are asked to give one term’s notice of your intention to end, if possible.
● You will not be expected to work during school holidays.

Access Social Care is a legal rights charity that exists to make sure disabled people, older people and carers get the social care they need. We educate so people can confidently use legal language to improve their lives. We make sure people can access justice when things do go wrong with legal casework and an online tech product. We gather data and evidence to drive system level change to work towards a future where everyone gets the social care they need.
We are currently seeking three trustees who can align with our organisational culture and values; who are passionate about social care and access to justice; and who can bring fresh perspectives, skills and expertise to help us achieve our goals and maximise our impact.
We are especially interested in people who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. With this in mind, we particularly welcome applications from candidates with direct experience of drawing on social care, as well as candidates from the Global Majority, older and disabled people, and people from the LGBTQ+ communities.
We are particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals with experience or knowledge in the following areas:
· Lived experience of drawing on social care or experience of the communities we serve, especially individuals who have experience as ambassadors or campaigners on behalf of these communities
· Sales, Business Development, and Marketing
· Financial Strategy, Investment, and Growth
· Communications and Campaigning
