About Bank.Green
Since the Paris Agreement, global banks have poured a staggering $5.5t into the fossil fuel industry. At Bank.Green, our mission is to lower this vast carbon footprint via technology and consumer action. Role Overview
As a Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of systems supporting the Bank.Green website. The website allows users to see how their current bank potential new alternative banks rank on environmental issues - primarily fossil fuel and related sectors support. It provides suggestions on how to talk to your current or potential future bank about your environmental concerns. And it hosts miscellaneous other public facing aspects of our organization, ultimately supporting the primary mission of divesting banks from from fossil fuels.
Team and Tech Stack
The website team is a friendly group of people based mostly in European and African time zones, running a comfortable two week SCRUM. The Vue.js frontend is supported by multiple Django projects mostly using Postgres. The two existing competent and quick-learning backend developers could use the knowledge, expertise, and timely code reviews of a senior developer with Django experience.
Commitment
This role is currently volunteer-based and we are seeking a commitment of 10-15 hours per week. We are looking for somebody to come on long-term, but are open to shorter-term applicants.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the existing team of senior developers and UX/UI designer to enhance and maintain the Green Policy Evaluator.
- Develop robust backend solutions using Python Flask, SQLAlchemy, and Llamaindex.
- Design, implement, and optimize database structures using PostgreSQL.
- Ensure seamless integration of backend components with frontend systems.
- Participate in Agile development methodologies, including maintaining a Linear issue board and adhering to a loose SCRUM system.
- Contribute to code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, preferably in a senior level capacity.
- Proficiency in Python programming language and Django framework.
- Uunderstanding and experience with relational databases.
- Experience working in Agile environments and using collaborative development tools (e.g., Linear, Git).

What is the time commitment?
• The charity holds four meetings per year (Including the AGM), with each meeting lasting around 2 hours.There will be a mix of in-person and online meetings.
• In addition, Panellists need to set aside a minimum of 1 hours reading time before each meeting.
• Depending upon agreed actions, Panellists may be asked to dedicate some time to activities within the community, or for the charity outside of the meetings.
• Should exceptional circumstances arise, there may be a need for additional meetings, but this will be a rare occurrence.
• A chair and vice-chair will be elected by the members every 3 years and holders may serve a maximum of 6 years in total in either role.
What training will you be given?
You will be given a basic induction to the Charity and some basic compliance training to allow you to undertake your role.

If so then Bolton Lads and Girls Club want to hear from you! As a Befriender, your role is to provide a young person in the care system an organised friendship with boundaries. Ensuring that they feel heard, and that they have a constant in their life. You can take the young person out for activities to build their trust and ultimately ensure that they have support from someone separate of both the local authority and the care system, an Independent Visitor. Typically the minimum length of time we would expect a volunteer to be in the role is 18 months, however the nature of the role means it could vary. Meetups are normally every 2 to 3 weeks, at a time that is convenient for both people.
Whilst no experience is required as training is provided, previous experience with children/young people can be advantageous.

Finance Trustee
Are you interested in becoming a voluntary Finance Trustee? We are looking for an experienced and committed individual to play an essential role in the governance and development of a hospice charity dedicated to supporting people with terminal and life limiting illnesses.
Position: Finance Trustee (voluntary)
Location: Remote, with travel to Swindon
Time commitment: Trustees are asked to participate in quarterly Board meetings, preferably in person. Plus Trustees are asked to participate in and/or Chair, preferably in person, at least one Sub-committee. Meetings of these sub-Committees are held once every quarter. Trustee are also asked to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Hospice.
Remuneration: The position is unpaid, though reasonable expenses (such as travel to meetings) are reimbursed.
The Role
It is the duty of the Board of Trustees to act in the interests of the Charity’s beneficiaries. It should ensure that the Charity as a clear strategic direction and purpose, and a sense of urgency to get on with the work it was established to do. It should set clear objectives, establish priorities, safeguard the assets (money, property, equipment, human resources) and use them effectively and exclusively to benefit those Charity exists to help.
Some of the main key responsibilities include:
· To ensure that the charity complies with its Memorandum and Articles of Association, Charity law, Company law and any other relevant legislation.
· To ensure the charity applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects.
· To contribute actively to the Board’s role in giving firm strategic direction to the charity.

About You

· A qualified Accountant with extensive professional experience within a finance based role
· Experience of contributing to senior/executive level board discussions

Been There is a small (but growing!) charity in the form of an app that connects people aged 18 and over with a vetted and trained mentor to help with any body image issues they may be experiencing. About the role:
If you are an experienced fundraiser, we need your help! Been There’s Board of Trustees share ultimate responsibility for governing the charity and directing how it is managed and run. As a member of the Board, you will help set the strategic aims, objectives and direction of the charity. The skills and knowledge you bring will enhance the Board and support Been There in achieving its charitable objectives
As a Fundraising Trustee, you will play a key role within our charity in assisting the Board to develop an ambitious fundraising strategy and help us to further improve the effectiveness of our income generation so we can maximise the number of service users we can provide support to. You will help to ensure our fundraising is of the highest standard and that we are meeting our fundraising objectives as well as complying with our legal duties. Board meetings are held every other month for 2 hours (two via Zoom and one per quarter in Kingston-Upon-Thames). If required, this role can be completely remote and you can attend the quarterly meeting over video call.

Main Responsibilities:

· Contributing knowledge of fundraising techniques, best practice, and strategies.

Person Specification:
· To have substantial background as a senior charity fundraiser with a sound understanding and experience of charity fundraising at strategic and operational levels.
· A good understanding of fundraising within a small charity and the challenges facing small charities.

Overview
As a Paddle Leader you will be responsible for the safety of the group (“Fire”) to which you’re
assigned whilst paddling and/or engaging in activities on or in the margins of the river/body of
water. You will lead and manage your Fire in conjunction with at least one other expedition
Leader and will operate within the parameters set by British Exploring Society, the Chief Leader
and/or Senior Paddle Leader.
We are looking for applicants who are:
- Able and passionate about leading, inspiring, and facilitating sessions with young people.
- Comfortable spending extended periods in remote and sometimes harsh environments.
- Able to commit to all pre-expedition training events.
As a charity, all Leader positions are undertaken on a voluntary basis and Leaders join for the intrinsic value of adventure, education, and personal development of young people.

Overview
In partnership with a second, and possibly third Leader, you will lead a Fire of 8-12 Young Explorers. Social Leader role is to ensure that all young people can develop and thrive on our expeditions. They provide additional support with pastoral care and behavioural management for young people, particularly those facing challenges. Social Leaders will have demonstrable experience of working with young people in residential environments.

Overview
In partnership with a second, and possibly third Leader, you will lead a Fire of 8-12 Young Explorers. The Knowledge Leader should combine science and creative activities to help Young Explorers better understand the unique wilderness they explore, and develop curiosity for the future. To achieve this, it is the responsibility of the Senior Knowledge Leader, Knowledge Leaders and the collaboration of all leaders to design and deliver a programme of inspirational, educational projects.
We are looking for applicants who are:
- Able and passionate about leading, inspiring, and facilitating sessions with young people.
- Comfortable spending extended periods in remote and sometimes harsh environments.
- Able to commit to all pre-expedition training events.
As a charity, all Leader positions are undertaken on a voluntary basis and Leaders join for the intrinsic value of adventure, education, and personal development of young people. You do not have to fundraise to lead on our expeditions.
